2. For one of our props we want to use an basic travel clock. This will
be just one of few items that our character will have in his room,
this shows his basic living conditions and his room will be very dark
and plain. This prop will be used to show the audience how late our
character has come in, plus we will have jump cuts to the clock
showing his difficulty sleeping and showing how much time has
passed.
Another prop will be a glass of water beside his bed. This prop
will already be in shot will the tablet beside it. This might suggest
to the audience that he as prepared for this and it could be a
ritual in his morning routine. Because of how late our character
will be coming in they may think that he has a hangover. We will
have a close up of the tablet fizzing in the glass of water. So along
with the glass of water we will need to find an dissolvable tablet
that fizzes for an good amount of time so we can get a shot of
this.
3. The sleeping bag will be what are character will be sleeping in. This
may suggest to the audience that he travels around a lot and will
get the viewers thinking. Also because are character is a Insomniac
he doesn't sleep a lot some comfort isn't a big factor. This sleeping
bag will be on top of a bed, we will have a establishing shoot of the
room to show the viewer what his conditions the character stays
in.
This will be the most important prop in our opening. As this will get
the viewer guessing and wondering who this person in the picture is.
Hopefully this will bring an element of mystery into the opening.
With this prop we will subtlety show this whilst the character is
drinking his water. The photograph will be old and quite worn to
show the audience that it’s an old photo. This will be an old
photograph of our characters older sister who was murdered when
he was a young boy.
The last prop that will be used in our film opening is a Iphone. We
thought it would be appropriate for our to have high-end phone
because of his high profile job being a detective. This prop will be
used to show his work phoning him this will show the audience he has
a job plus he’s in demand. We would use a close-up to show the call
taking place.
