Initial Ideas for a Colour Scheme
My favourite magazine
covers have bold and
bright colour schemes,
something that I feel is
essential for the cover of a
magazine.
Using a bright colour
scheme will be eye-
catching for the reader
My favourite niche example
I like the bold colour schemes and the use of
one main quirky image. The bold colours
appeal to a fun-loving audience as well as an
audience of 16-25 year olds, both of which
are factors stipulated in my brief.
In my opinion, using one image is more
aesthetically appealing as the cover looks
less busy and clumsy. Using images of a
higher quality than Hearst's current
entertainment magazines will also provide
the company with a broader variety of
publications on offer.

Colour Themes Vibrant, bright, bold, eye-catching, complimentary, must consider-
backdrops, typography, model's composition
Front cover aesthetics One person, close-up, wide-shot, framing
Options for branding Alternative (minimalism and simplicity), luxury
Production level For Hearst UK- could incorporate UK culture where possible
Celebrities Could include inspirational celebrities, not just for gossip, takes a
different path from the traditional celeb chatter magazine
