2. Genre: Horror
 My group has decided to create our opening in the genre of horror
as this is the genre we have the most understanding of due to our
interest in it
 Most of our research has been into the genre of horror thus
increasing our expertise surrounding it
 Supernatural horrors often try to include aspects of reality to make
them more relatable and therefore more scary; further appealing to
the target audience; with this in mind I wanted to devise a plot
based on a true story
 My plot is based on the exorcism of Anneliese Michel.

 Anne Mitchell (Anneliese Michel)
• Suffered from epileptic attacks, depression and schizophrenia
• Has devilish hallucinations and hears voices whilst praying
• Diagnosed as being possessed at 17
• Neglected by her parents
• Able to see demons
 Mr & Mrs Mitchell
• Mother had an illegitimate daughter, then encouraged to atone for sins
• Forced religious tendencies onto daughter
• Neglected their daughter
• Imprisoned after her death
 Anais
• Hung herself at 14 after years of neglect

 Anne tries to pray but is interrupted by demonic faces and voices telling
her she’s damned
 Demons linked to her illegitimate sister’s suicide
 Anne consults parents who make her atone for her ‘sins’
 Dream sequence in isolation
 Parents assume possession
 Possession confirmed during pilgrim
 Approach priest
 Exorcisms occur
 Anne neglected
 Dies from dehydration
 Parents and priest found guilty of negligent homicide
