Post-Agile Methodologies and all that JazzStojan Peshov
It's been 15 years since the Agile Manifesto was signed and several methodologies were raised ever since. There is almost no developer nowdays that haven't adopted at least one of the Agile principles and uses them in everyday work or even private life. Some has even done improvised versions which work according their needs.
The question that's been around these past years is if the Agile is old enough to become past and what's the next big thing, is it a time to call it Post-Agilit period and what that means. What has or needs to change in order to abandon the old and become the Post Agilit followers.
Lots of teams already claim themselves as Post-Agilit pioneers and some new ideas of methodologies have been introduced. I'll try to bring an overview of some of them and bring you some thoughts that might help answering the above questions.

This document outlines how to implement educational technology in an organization. It discusses starting small with pilots and researching best practices. Change management is important to address as technology projects often fail due to lack of clear objectives and communication. The presenter advocates a gap analysis to understand current and desired states. Resources like learning management systems and video tools are presented. Processes like needs analysis and project planning are also covered.
This document discusses the need for a structured product management process. It covers establishing a product vision and strategy, then executing on that strategy. Specifically:
1) It argues that a product management process is needed to ensure the organization is aligned on how products are built, what is prioritized, and how progress is measured.
2) It outlines developing a product vision 2-5 years out, then a strategy on how to achieve that vision through focused initiatives with goals. Discovery helps inform the vision and strategy.
3) Execution involves roadmapping, prioritizing the backlog, and continuously learning from users to stay focused on solving the right problems.

Digitalizing teaching and learning processes in developing economies by Altti...Mindtrek
EDTECH & GLOBAL MARKETS - Thursday 30th
"Digitalization challenges the way business processes are seen. The potential for enhancement is recognized even in business areas that traditionally have little to do with IT, and education is not an exception. Even though schools and universities have long traditions of how work is organized, they have not been eager to adopt digitalized processes: more emphasis is put on digitalizing learning than digitalizing teaching processes. Because the core processes of schools and universities rely on highly skilled experts, digitalizing processes is not as straightforward as in more mechanical work; new approaches for digitalization are needed. In collaboration with Haaga-Helia UAS and Eduix ltd a new approach combining research, development and new technologies is elaborated. The purpose is to support Eduix ltd export activities, and find effective ways to enhance education processes with information systems, especially in developing economies."

Robotics & AI: Where Are You on Your Automation Journey?ITESOFT
According to Gartner, 66% of leaders want to transform their business digitally. Yet, only about 11% are actually delivering "Digital Business".
During the recent World Economic Forum, it has been suggested that by 2025 more than half of all workplace tasks will be performed by machines.
Our question to you, is where are you on this journey towards automation?
The burgeoning digital transformation and the challenges involvedEnov8
Many organisations have started their ambitious journey in order to reshape their existing market and open the doors to the treasure trove. Enov8 brings down to you the key challenges faced by the organisations which need to be overcome in order to have a successful transition.
The document outlines the Odoo Implementation Methodology (OIM) which provides a standardized approach for implementing Odoo projects. It describes key aspects of the methodology including conducting a GAP analysis to validate requirements, aligning stakeholders at a kickoff meeting, implementing in iterative cycles with configuration, data import, development and validation, training end users, and going live in production. It also provides examples of how the methodology would be applied to projects of different sizes, such as a small law firm and a large consulting company. The goal of the OIM is to help projects be delivered on time and on budget by standardizing roles, responsibilities, and processes.
With so much noise and buzzwords floating around regarding data analytics, it can be rather difficult to decipher between the signal (what is worthwhile) and what is only talk. Sometimes the rhetoric even starts within your organization, confounding the issue further. During Andrew’s session, he will provide attendees with the knowledge they need to tune out the bogus information while gleaning valuable insights for developing and deploying their audit analytics program. The presentation will conclude with tangible examples of a successful Manufacturing Audit Analytics program, and recommendations for how to get yours up and running. After attending, participants will be able to articulate how steps for setting up an analytics program within their departments, as well be armed with knowledge for educating senior leadership on the fundamental changes in technology that are occurring, and what is just marketing.

ATLAS TECHNOLOGY, A DIGITAL FRAMEWORK FOR EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT AND USE OF RE...Carlos Gabriel Asato
In Argentina, as in other developing countries, information availability could be a serious problem. Due to the lack of information such as topographical, geological and other kind of geospatial data, geoscientists have strong difficulties to make their regional studies especially when digital analysis should be made. Despite of the great effort of different international organisations (UNEP GRID, Geocover, etc.) to supply free geodata coverage, information could not be efficiently used and managed without a good technological support. The Argentine Satellite Atlas for Geological and Geographical Studies is a special cartographic product generated by automatic procedures based on GIS technology and public and institutional data. The aim of this project is to provide a useful reference document for students, geologist and other earth science professionals. This paper describes the conceptual model, digital components, database structure and cartographic criteria that provided a framework for the quick generation of a high quality cartographic product.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Information Technology Adoption in Multidisciplinary and Multiorganizational Environments
1. Information Technology Adoption in Multidisciplinary
and Multiorganizational Environments
NRDM Workshop - Data Governance
Gabriel Asato
Geological and Mining Survey of Argentina
Commision for the Management and Application of GeoInformation
Member of Open Geospatial Consortium Speaker Bureau
Member of NRDM Advisor Board
2. Introduction
The Beginning of a Good Idea
I have a good idea!!
The developed product will be really nice!!!
I think the product/app/system will help the
development of my organization
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
3. But what use to be happen...
New ideas or advanced technologies are not
easily accepted by people either
organizations.
4. Why?
Real life tell us:
● The process of technology adoption is not an
easy process despite of the promising future.
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
5. The Millon Dolar Question
We have technology, know-how and we know
the benefits of the development of this new
kind of technology
But..
How we can develop an integrated and
operational product/app/system?
Why the organization/people is not accepting
my new idea?
6. What this Presentation Will
Explain?
Some issues about
new technology adoption process
(by my experiences and conclusions developing
Geoinformation Systems for National Organizations in
Argentina)
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
7. A Short Story About a GeoIT
Scientist and His Developments
Geologist 1990
Remote Sensing Specialist 1992
(RS and GIS for Mining Exploration)
GIS Developer 1993
(Development of Geological Digital Map)
….
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
8. How the National Digital Map
Project was Made
● Business Model
● Development of Standards and
Methodologies
● Information Architecture
● Applications
● Test Application/Demo
● Product
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
9. Big Problem: Technology
Acceptance and Adoption
● The infrastructure aim of the Geological
Digital Map was to create a corporate system
that will support production and information
requirements of the organization.
● But the concept of corporate system was
never understood (accepted) despite of the
proven benefits of the Digital Geological Map
Production System.
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
10. Unsuccess-Consequences
● The System is not well integrated with the
organization work flow
● The System and their products cannot be
replicated by others (then enhanced)
● There are no other developments created
based on the previous experience.
● People didn’t learn something new
● New errors == old errors (re-invention of the
wheel)
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
12. Success?
In consequence I was:
Accepted by the international GIT
community
Recognized by argentinean
universities and organizations as
a main GIS trainer
But...
The main aim was not reached
The organization still not have a corporative system
14. Good Systems Designs Will not
Guarantee Project Success
It was learnt that human factor is important in
the process of technology adoption and
acceptance.
The Technological Project must be accepted by
people!!!!
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
15. My Personal History 2
Coordinating Multidisciplinary
and Multiorganizational Projects
Lessons Learnt
16. Coordinating Groups
CGI-IUGS (Interoperability for Geosciences)
RedOT (Inf. Sys. Group for Land Management)
Argentina Data Providers for Natural Hazards
and Risk Management (Interoperability
Group)
GT.SIG (GeoInformation for eGov)
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
17. Issues About Group and Technology
Acceptance Management
● Business Model
● Organizations and Know-How Management
● System/Applications Development Stages in a
Organization
● Professional Impedance Mismatch
● Working Group Coordination
● Dynamics of a Working Group
● Technology Acceptance Model
● Organization/Head Support (top-bottom model)
● External and Potential Partners
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
18. Business Model
●
●
●
●
About the business objectives of your organization
About the information constraints
Quality criteria (data, products,etc)
Available Infrastructure
○ Physical
○ Human resources
○ Know how
● Relationships, expected benefits, etc.
The definition of business model is essential to define the
context, objectives and constraints of our information
system
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
19. North
Business Model is the North
for Information Projects in your Organization!!!
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
20. Contextual Analysis:
Organization Tradition and Working Style.
Integration of New Developments
New developments must be linked to existing
practices and rules. It is well known that
starting a project from zero forgetting
previous experiences will have a lot of
difficulties to be integrated to the daily
operations in the organization.
Staff know the why of the ways and
methodologies. Any improvement or reform
should be formulated on previous structures.
23. The Multidisciplinary Working
Group
Professional Impedance Mismatch
○
○
○
Different Practices
Different Cultures
Different Technical Language
People need to know how to speak each other!!
A meeting and working methodology is needed
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
24. Working with Partners
● People hate feel ignorant
● People join to a new project by personal interests (they
need to understand that participation will gave any kind
of profit)
● People need to be part of the project (appropriation).
● Appropriation promote group creativity
● Project leader will probably knows the how-to’s but
sometimes is much better look ignorant.(one eye man in
the kingdom of blind people is a mad!!!)
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
26. Head Support
Top-Bottom Model
Successful adoption is highly dependent on the
degree, stability and wisdom of the
administrative sponsorship.
There are no successful adoption without
CEO's compromises
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
28. Working With External Partners
● Stakeholders
● Society/Public
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
29. Final Remarks
● It is well known that new and complex
technologies adoption process use to be a
difficult process
● It demand important investments in research
and development and sometimes the
product (result) will be not accepted by users
despite the promise of potential benefits
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
30. Final Remarks
Technology adoption by an organization
consists on studying the processes and
objectives of the organization, and is part of a
long negotiation with members of staff and
users in order to create an operational and
useful product/application/system
Gabriel Asato -NRDM 2013
