IRM (Information Resource Management) allows organizations and individuals to control access and usage of confidential information. IRM enforces restrictions on documents, workbooks, and presentations by storing permission data within the files themselves. This prevents unauthorized copying, forwarding, printing, or sharing of restricted content regardless of where the files are accessed. While IRM secures data transmission and usage according to policies, it cannot prevent content from being stolen, lost to viruses or malware, or copied through screen captures or unauthorized programs.
