Forming leadership groups within a school can help establish norms, set goals, and analyze what in the school could help or hinder efforts. “Fostering a sustainable learning community depends in part on the leaders’ ability to create conditions in which teachers learn to recognize and challenge the usefulness of their existing beliefs and practices in order to improve their student’s education” (Cherkowski, 2012, p. 59). This leadership action plan shows how my leadership team selected a leadership initiative and a collaborative leadership framework for facilitating our work. We laid the groundwork to successfully achieve the leadership initiative, to provide leveled math support/intervention/enrichment to assess if more students are making progress and are appropriately challenged. This analysis allowed our community of practice team to ensure students at various levels are being challenged appropriately, improve student achievement through differentiated instruction, evaluate if work stations can help students become independent/collaborative learners, and create assessments that will monitor progress and help determine where support is needed.

For the past few years, reading has taken center stage in PD—specifically because this is an area that has been deemed as being one that most of our students struggle with as evidenced by ISAT performance. For the past couple of years, teachers have been exposed to the concept of Reading Across the Curriculum. At first, Haugan received PD from an outside consultant and then last year, most of our PD was delivered on-site by our Master Teachers. This year, we are going full force with Reading Across the Curriculum and marrying it to the Differentiation concept—Haugan personnel will be the driving force behind the initiative; in terms of providing all PD ourselves. So far, we have delivered 4 PowerPoint presentations that have some type of literacy/differentiation element embedded into it: Ex: 1. Formative Assessment; 2. Word Maps to Build Comprehension; 3. Summarizing; and 4. Differentiation.
Differentiation ppt: We opened the year with a PD session on differentiation. Although many of our Haugan teachers have been to conferences/workshops that delve deeply into this concept, we felt that we needed to present teachers with practical techniques that they could immediately put into practice the first week of school—techniques that would help them get to know their students’ interests and learning styles. In having an idea of students’ interests and learning styles, teachers are better able to engage students.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.

6. Motivation:
I think the key to tapping into personal motivation is by focusing on
shifting our message from what we are doing to why we are doing it. Most
teachers teach because they want to make a difference I think this would
speak to their hearts instead of their minds.
To utilize the social aspect of motivation, I would like to have
teachers work together with partners so they can encourage, teach, and
split the workload when they analyze student data in order to adjust
instruction and regroup students. I think by creating these teams it would
cut down on the lack of interest and negativity that some teachers are so
quick to lean on.
When teachers are starting to blend, it is important that we support
them in all ways possible. One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard from
teachers is that it takes too much time to create everything needed in a
blended classroom. By offering shoutouts and free “planning” time to
teachers who are “attempting” to try and blend, I hope to further solidify
the vital behaviors we are trying to implement.
7. Ability:
We've had a lot of things in place to help teachers move towards
blending, it's all been about the station rotations and not the
personalization. I think offering intense, long-term assistance with a lot of
1-on-1 time with me and the other blended learning coaches would help
teachers not only feel more comfortable in starting to personalize through
data analysis and regrouping but also in helping start much needed
conversations among teachers (mentioned in social motivation above). By
having some we become stronger together than separately and I think the
partner structure would help teachers play off of their strengths and
diminish their weaknesses.
With structural ability, we purchased furniture to help enable our
teachers to rearrange their class easily in order to facilitate small groups
and collaborative work stations. This greatly shifted the mentality of the
room when rows of desks were taken out which easily manipulated the
layout of the room based on what was occurring that day. I think continuing
to focus on how we can use the room layout to our advantage when
regrouping students will help reinforce that particular vital behavior.
