3. Let me introduce to you my innovation plan. The main objective of this plan will
be to improve the education system on the elementary school level in content
areas by implementing the station rotation model via the blended learning
model (Horn & Staker, 2015).

4. My main goal is to implement an innovation plan that would incorporate blended learning into the classroom. By
doing this we wouldn’t just throw away our traditional methods, but we simply would renovate them. Doing this
would allow students to receive a better education and better will turn into outstanding when all of us will support
and collaborate these methods. So lets just say we update those traditional methods. Let’s get out our comfort
zones and step into the 21st century by learning and teaching with technology.

5. What is Blended Learning?
Horn and Staker (2015), the authors of Blended:
Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools,
define blended learning as any formal education
program in which a student learns at least in part
through online learning, with some element of
student control over time, place, path, and/or pace
and at least in part at a supervised brick-and-mortar
location away from home (p. 54).

6. Our school is the “supervised brick-and-mortar location”. That
is not enough. We have to allow students to control some
portion of their learning. We the teachers, paraprofessionals,
and administrators should want the learning experiences to be
student-centered. This gives students the power to have some
control over their learning, and the ability to own their learning.
Doing this moves the focus away from us the teacher and puts
the focus back to where it needs to be on our students. That way
they will learn through choice, responsibility, and ownership.
This will give our students a voice.

7. How to Implement Blended Learning?
Horn and Staker (2015) define the station rotation as a course or
subject in which students rotate on a fixed schedule or at the
teacher’s discretion between and all of the learning modalities, at
least one of which is online learning (p. 55

8. Why Use Station Rotation?
• Implement differentiated instruction
for academic skills through ways
such as online instruction, and
teacher-led instruction
• Stations would have collaborative
activities that reinforce the
academic skills which allows
students to have opportunities for
peer-to-peer interaction,
independent practice, and social
and emotional skills.

9. This plan is a catalyst for change in our education system in
various ways, technology plays a large role in the quality of the
lessons because the materials, delivery, content, and
assessments would be revamped. However doing this
transformation we still meet our state, district, and school
standards.

10. The Station Rotation model via blended learning, would change our education
system by modernizing it. This will help our students are our future leaders and
trendsetters. This plan will be transforming their learning experiences with
innovative planning, implementation, and assessment of content learned via
online instruction, teacher-led instruction, and other collaborative activities and
stations.
