India is a large and geographically diverse country located in South Asia. It has several mountain ranges including the Himalayas, as well as river valleys, plains, plateaus and coastal areas. India has a variety of climates ranging from tropical rainforest to desert. Hinduism is the largest religion in India which has over 1.2 billion people, making it the second most populous country in the world. However, poverty remains a significant problem.
