Heart on fire! Luke 24:32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
The common thread or plot of most heroic movies is that in the end the hero wins. No matter how impossible the mission or how unbelievable the odds, these heroic characters find a way using their available resources.
The document discusses taking a "leap of faith" in openly confessing one's belief and faith in Jesus Christ. It acknowledges that this can be difficult due to fears of rejection but encourages readers by noting several biblical figures like Joseph of Arimathea and Peter who were initially secretive about their faith. It argues that openly confessing one's faith, even in the face of persecution, will be rewarded in heaven. The document urges readers to practice sharing their testimony and faith in order to overcome fears, and to consider the needs of others in telling them about Jesus and God's salvation.
This document discusses the meaning behind the phrase "lead us not into temptation" from the Lord's Prayer. It explains that God does not tempt humans, as tempting would go against his nature. Temptation comes from within ourselves and from the devil trying to lure us away from God. As Christians, we must resist temptation through trusting in God's strength and grace, rather than giving in to our own desires. While God allows difficult situations to test and strengthen our faith, he provides a way to withstand temptation and will not allow us to be tempted beyond our endurance. We should pray to God to protect us from falling for temptation and to deliver us from the influence of the evil one.

This document provides a lesson outline about developing greater faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It discusses several biblical stories including a parable about prayer, Jesus healing a blind man, Jesus dining with Zacchaeus, and Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. These stories teach that God answers prayers according to His will and timing, and that we should have faith in Him. We can develop faith by praying, showing gratitude, and remembering Jesus' love and compassion for others.
Taking a stand for Christ-2013@KIPKABUS HIGH SCHOOLChesney Felix
Joseph of Arimathea took a bold stand for Christ by asking Pilate for Jesus' body after the crucifixion. Joseph had previously been a secret disciple of Jesus out of fear, but witnessing Jesus' death gave him courage to properly bury Him in Joseph's own tomb. Though it risked his reputation and position on the Jewish council, Joseph provided Jesus an honorable burial, giving evidence for Christianity. To take a stand like Joseph, one must be willing to sacrifice reputation or position and face potential costs of identifying with Christ. Frequent reflection on Christ's death and resurrection can strengthen resolve to remain firm in faith.

Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The document provides an overview of Paul's letter to the Galatians. It discusses who wrote it and when, who it was written to, its purpose and key doctrines. Some key points include: Paul wrote it to churches in Galatia to counter false teachings about justification by works; it emphasizes that sanctification comes through the Spirit, not the law; and it condemns any gospel contrary to what Paul preached about Christ dying for sins.
This document discusses how the Bible has influenced many important historical figures and areas of life. It provides quotes from presidents, leaders, scientists, and others affirming the importance and power of the Bible. The main body then outlines different areas of life where allowing the Bible to influence one's thinking can provide clarity, purpose, and direction: origins, social and family relationships, spiritual growth, values, and eternal destiny. It encourages reading the Bible to develop strong biblical convictions and a Christian lifestyle.
The document discusses heaven and the options for getting there. It summarizes that:
1) There are two options - heaven (the desirable way) or hell (the undesirable way).
2) People have the power to decide which route to take by choosing to accept Jesus Christ or not.
3) The Bible says there is only one way to heaven - through accepting Jesus Christ. Other routes are disputed but the Bible is the only completely accurate answer.
4) People must decide during their lifetime on earth - it will be too late after death. The Bible says "now is the accepted time" to choose the route to heaven.
This document discusses Jesus' claims and teachings from the Gospel of John. It provides several quotes from Jesus asserting that he speaks the truth from God and that whoever believes in him will have eternal life. It also includes perspectives from C.S. Lewis and Paul David Houston arguing that Jesus' claims mean he was either God or a lunatic, as no ordinary prophet or teacher would have made such absolute claims. The document emphasizes maintaining a strong Christian witness by being thoroughly convinced in one's beliefs and acting with courage, patience, trustworthiness and caring for others.

This document discusses examining Jesus through his words, deeds, and legacy to determine who he was. It explores how different religions and groups view Jesus differently. The document highlights some of Jesus' most famous sayings and argues his most impactful saying is John 3:16, which states that God loved the world so much he gave his son so that all who believe in him will have eternal life. It emphasizes that God loves and gives unconditionally.
Two gospel streams - which one do you subscrikarln1844
This document discusses the differences between two gospel streams or views. It summarizes that one view is that sin is part of human nature, so perfection and overcoming sin is impossible. The other view is that through Christ's power, one can overcome sin and live a sinless life. It explores the implications of these views for the nature of Christ and sin. The conclusion advocates for the view that presents Jesus as both a substitute and example who overcame sin, and enables believers to do the same. This determines salvation and the true gospel message.
18 “Born Again” Fathered By God 1 John 5:1-5Rick Peterson
Being born again means being fathered by God, which requires:
1) Belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God
2) Surrendering in obedience to God by keeping his commandments such as being baptized
3) Victory over the world through faith in Jesus, which allows one to conquer sin and live a new, righteous life
The document is a lecture for a youth fellowship that discusses making a wholehearted commitment. It addresses three key areas: 1) properly setting one's emotions through discipline, 2) properly setting one's soul by ensuring it is placed in God's care, and 3) properly setting one's efforts by investing in things that please God. The lecture encourages the youth to discipline their hearts, accept Jesus to be saved, and focus their strengths on obeying God.
This document discusses authenticating one's identity in Christ. It begins by discussing how knowing your identity and your enemies allows you to win battles. It then discusses how your identity in Christ is shaped by your core beliefs. Believers have an identity as children of God and must know their identity, which is demonstrated through the fruit of the Spirit and power from Christ. Believers have authority from Christ over sin, sickness, demons and fear as their identity is secured through Christ's victory on the cross.
This free book is challenging and thought provoking to the Body of Christ as to "How We Present Jesus to the World we live in." What is the person you are witnessing to, think of Jesus in your life? How do we minister to a person that we are sharing the Word of God with? This is an audio message that translated into text for our listening audience in our Live Voice Conference in Beyond the Veil Prophetic Ministries. We pray it is a blessing to you, today!
This document contains excerpts from a sermon or teaching discussing various biblical topics and concepts. Some key points discussed include: shifting from one mindset or identity to another; fleeing from temptation rather than resisting it; making the choice to confirm one's faith in actions like Jesus did; and shifting from manifesting based on current circumstances to manifesting from an identity of what should be. The overall message discusses changing one's mindset and identity through biblical principles.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)
Exactly how are we be led by the Holy Spirit?
Exactly how does the Holy Spirit communicate to all of us in this life?
If the Bible calls the Holy Spirit our Guide and Teacher in this life, then this means He will attempt to communicate to all of us from time to time.
Otherwise we will never be able to pick up from Him exactly what He is trying to teach us or tell us to do.
The very first thing we need to know if we want to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit is that
We can develop a direct personal relationship with Him
Just like you already have with God and Jesus.
Here are two key verses from the apostle Paul telling us that we are allowed to have direct communication and direct fellowship with the Holy Spirit Himself:
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit …” (Phillippians 2:1)
This is a study of Jesus being written about by Moses. What Moses wrote about Jesus was not recognized until Jesus came to earth and fulfilled what he wrote about.
This document summarizes a talk given by Russ Fochler at the Blazing Fire Church on September 1st, 2012. The talk discusses the importance of how we see God, the world around us, the future, and ourselves. It emphasizes letting the Holy Spirit give us "upgrades" in our perspective so we can see through "Son Glasses" rather than through fear. It encourages focusing on building relationship with God and showing love to others rather than obsessing over conspiracies. The talk provides tips for staying on the path of life, such as considering the fruit of one's focus and allowing the Holy Spirit to train one's brain.

This document discusses developing a Christ-centered reading of scripture informed by the revelation of God through Jesus' crucifixion. It argues that Jesus, as revealed on the cross, shows God's true character as self-sacrificially loving. To properly understand scripture, readers must view all of it as pointing to and reflecting the crucified Christ. Passages that seem to contradict God's nature as revealed in Christ are best understood as "literary crucifixes" that show God stooping to bear humanity's sin and cultural conditioning, as on the cross.
This document contains a collection of "one another" passages from the Bible intended to guide how Christians should treat each other. It discusses that Jesus had different relationships with different disciples, and that God relates to people personally based on their unique gifts and relationship with Him. As such, Christians should love each other in personalized ways according to how God is loving each person, with the goal of transformation rather than superficial affection. The document analyzes the context and meaning behind many "one another" passages, emphasizing that they aim to have Christ present among His followers and require speaking truth in love, transparency, and good deeds, not just thoughts. Christians are called to specifically love and serve their close friends and family through these directives from God.
Bully - Christianity and the Culture of BullyingRodney Drury
The document discusses bullying from a Christian perspective. It defines bullying as negative verbal or physical behavior done with the intention of upsetting or manipulating someone, which God would not approve of. It outlines four main types of bullying: verbal, physical, relational, and cyber. It then examines biblical stories involving Joseph, Moses, David, Jesus, and a group of women to draw lessons about overcoming bullying through humility, faith over fear, sacrificing for others, doing God's will, and resisting evil urges like jealousy. Finally, it provides advice such as living humbly, using spiritual gifts to empower others, and involving authorities to address bullying.
This document contains summaries of various passages from 1 Corinthians. The summaries highlight key points such as: understanding spiritual gifts and God's strengthening; seeing God as wiser than human wisdom; focusing on Jesus crucified; knowing God's mind through the Holy Spirit; working together for God's purposes; living according to God's grace; glorifying God with one's body; running the race of faith with self-control; enduring trials as examples for believers; expressing love in relationships; and finding power in Christ's death and resurrection being witnessed to over 500 people.
Walking by faith” means acting on what you believe.
Your belief system determines your behaviour. Explore what is a stronghold in the mind and how to build new ones using God's Word.
God has spoken through the Bible, which is the only true revelation of God. The Bible's claim is supported by its unity, character, and supernatural knowledge. True belief in God determines one's conduct, as unbelievers do not order their lives to please God. If we truly believe that God has spoken through the Bible, we should study it eagerly and make time for instruction from it, as our actions should reflect our stated beliefs.

God said that my commands are not difficult to obey. However, we have seen the history of Israel. They were exiled all over the world because they did not obey God’s commands. So is it difficult or easy? In fact, the key lies in whether you use the world’s methods or the Kingdom of God’s methods? When you use the world's methods, the obstacle you encounter is God. He will not let you do what you want to do, because He says that if the Lord does not build the things of the world, whatever built will be uprooted. So we need to know how to obey God’s commands and use God’s methods, but He requires us to become His children. But before we can become children, we must obey His commands. So, which comes first, the chicken or the egg? This dilemma is that before God requires others to be disciples, you must be a disciple before you can lead others to obey God's commands. A332
Lying is addressed in the Ten Commandments. The document discusses how even Christians struggle with lying and provides examples from the Bible where people lied, including Adam and Eve, Cain, and Ananias and Sapphira. It asserts that Satan is the father of lies and lying goes against God's nature of truth. The document recommends strategies for addressing lying, which include diagnosing and capturing wrong thoughts, declaring and speaking the truth, and persisting in truth through challenges without giving up.
This document contains several quotes and passages from the Bible about virtues such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, and self-control. Some key themes that emerge are living with love, finding joy and strength in God, being patient and kind towards others, doing good works, and walking in truth and righteousness.
I. The document discusses the power of prayer, giving examples from the Bible where prayer changed, corrected, and comforted lives. It encourages developing a regular prayer life and praying for the lost, missionaries, ministers, and enemies.
II. Specific examples are given of how Cornelius' prayers led Peter to teach him the gospel, and how Paul prayed for Israel to understand truth. The document asserts prayer has power to bring people to God and correct one's direction when sinful.
III. Readers are encouraged to turn to prayer, not other things, for comfort, as it acknowledges one's need for God. In conclusion, the document hopes readers will become "prayer warriors" and know others are
Who do we trust the most, God or man? God's plan for us is simple and it includes, peace, joy, happiness, freedom, prosperity and life. Man's plan has none of those and if you do find any of those in this world, it will only be for a short period of time.
This document provides a summary of a sermon on pursuing wisdom based on Proverbs 8:6-21. It discusses how wisdom was a communicable attribute of God given to humans at creation but lost through the Fall. God's plan is to restore wisdom and his image in believers through redemption in Christ. The sermon emphasizes that true wisdom comes from accepting Christ, fearing God, and learning from his word rather than trying to understand all of life's mysteries.
Phil. 3:12-14 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
The document discusses experiencing the love of God as our Heavenly Father. It explores how our perceptions of God are often shaped by our earthly fathers and experiences of abandonment or lack of affection. Living as slaves rather than sons stems from not internalizing the Father's unconditional love. The document advocates for healing from wounds through reconciling with the Father's love as shown through Jesus. This allows us to live freely as beloved sons and daughters instead of in performance or shame.
This document discusses the problem of biblical illiteracy according to surveys showing many people cannot identify biblical stories or confuse them with fictional stories. It led to incorrect beliefs about salvation and God according to a study. This illiteracy is likely due to a lack of effort among Christians to intellectually engage with scripture. The document argues we must love God with our whole mind by renewing our thinking according to scripture to have a proper understanding and glorify God.
This book Conception of Self Control For Building Your Mind helps the reader to deal with life in a way that is successful and pleasant to mankind. Do not fizzle out. In order to build courage, a man must live by principles that are friendly to nature and have the ability of success and positive thinking.
Life is made up of moments; there are happy times and therefore sad times in all our lives. In a time of difficulty, we long to be comforted and only our thoughts can determine how easy it is going to be for us to pass through.
There is always a better and improved version of whatever had existed.
Meneko Tsefino Charles “Masterpiece” this book “conception” is a must read, it talks about the greatness of God, and how we can improve in our lives by being close to God by self control.................
Conception of self control for building your mind by Meneko Tsefino CharlesCharleston Tsefino Meneko
This Book "CONCEPTION OF SELF CONTROL FOR BUILDING YOUR MIND BY MENEKO TSEFINO CHARLES" is a most outstanding book, and it is a very good book that will envelope and build the mind of readers to achieve discipline and self control.
This book is a must read, because of its spiritual implication to set your life forward since most of its scripts are sensationalize from the Holy Bible!
"What Exercise Is To The Body Is What Reading Is To The Mind!" - READERS ARE LEADERS!!!!
So practice reading.....
The document discusses becoming more spiritually minded. It says our purpose is to combat evil forces and be like Christ. We are responsible to God and should obey Him over anyone else. We must learn to respond properly without anger. If we understand our purpose and responsibilities, and properly react, we will become more spiritual as intended. In the end, it asks if we are growing closer to God or losing passion for our faith.
It is the human Jesus (fully divine, fully human) who resisted the temptations of Satan by his lived experience of the Scriptures. This gives us hope that we can resist temptations by (1) knowing ourselves; (2) developing a plan to resist; (3) avoid temptations; (4) resist and pray; and to (5) get the help of theirs.
Knowledge makes people arrogant. This concept seems to be completely different from the world’s thinking. If I learn more, then I should know the breadth of knowledge. I should be like a learned person, and I should be more humble. But why the Bible said so, if this is a truth that violates the rules of the world. In this chapter, let us carefully look for the truth of the Bible for detail analysis.

Each Sunday a lesson is given from some of that week's reading. This lesson covers Aug 31-Sep 6
This document provides materials for a Bible study on the 4th Sunday of Easter, including summaries and commentary on the readings. The first reading from Acts describes Peter proclaiming that Jesus healed the crippled man. The second reading from 1 John discusses being called children of God through his love. The Gospel reading contrasts Jesus as the good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep, to the hired man who runs away when danger comes. Today's SS lesson, "Living As Strangers". We Christians are to be in the world, looking to love and point people to God's grace by our examples and our genuine good deeds. We first must reject falseness (the old life) in our own lives, then we will be free to be Jesus servants by others
1. The document is a summary of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on March 11, 2018. The sermon focused on 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 and discussed how Christians are free in Christ but should not use their freedom to sin or become dominated by sinful behaviors and passions.
2. It discussed how some Corinthians believed "all things are lawful" meant they could engage in sexual immorality. Paul refuted this by explaining that while the body is temporary, it belongs to God and will be resurrected, so Christians should not engage their bodies in sin but glorify God with them.
3. Satan tries to convince Christians that some sins are acceptable by appealing
Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Mt 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Act 20:35 "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Rom 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
This document discusses the benefits of being part of a local church congregation. It outlines three main benefits: 1) Worship gives encouragement as Christians support and stimulate one another, 2) Worship gives enjoyment, as gathering with others is a privilege and blessing, not a burden, 3) Worship gives endurance, as enduring in the Christian faith requires drawing near to God with others and looking to Jesus as an example of enduring. The local church is where Christians can find these benefits of encouragement, enjoyment, and endurance to help them in their faith.
Rom 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
The document discusses the Beatitude of "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness." It explains that this refers to having a strong desire and appetite for righteousness that is needed to sustain one's spiritual life. Specifically:
1) One must have a "proper appetite" for righteousness and God's word, rather than worldly things.
2) One must have the "proper attitude" of prioritizing obedience to God over men, as exemplified by Joseph and early Christians.
3) One must have the "proper acquaintances" by avoiding friendship with the world and being separate from unrighteousness. True Christians should seek to help others become friends of God rather than just being friends with
Heb 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.
Jn 12:42-43 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Col 3:1-2 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Mt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
1) The document discusses the serious and deadly nature of sin, noting that sin separates us from God.
2) It explains that sin comes from three sources: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
3) The solution to sin is found in Jesus, who died to pay for our sins so that through repentance and baptism, we can receive forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This document discusses two stories from Luke 18 about maintaining faith and humility. The first story is about a persistent widow who petitions an unjust judge for justice, teaching that people ought to always pray and not lose heart. The second story contrasts a Pharisee who boasts of his righteousness with a tax collector who humbly asks for God's mercy. Both stories teach that the key is to rely on God through prayer and faith, rather than finding fault in others or exalting oneself. The conclusion exhorts the reader to focus on having faith in God rather than faultfinding, and to change oneself through humility before trying to change the world.
The document outlines God's plan of salvation according to scripture as involving five steps: 1) Hearing the word of God, 2) Believing in Jesus, 3) Repenting of sins, 4) Confessing faith in Jesus, and 5) Being baptized for the remission of sins. It emphasizes that while people have come up with many plans of salvation, there is only one plan given by God in the Bible. It encourages examining whether one has truly obeyed God's biblical plan of salvation or been deceived by human-made plans.
God is everlasting, existing outside of time. He is glorious in power and authority, as shown by His presence on Mount Sinai. God is also gracious, showing mercy and grace by sending Jesus to die for humanity's sins. Finally, God alone is intrinsically good - He defines what is right and wrong. The document examines scripture to showcase God's eternal nature and qualities of glory, grace and goodness as the supreme being.
This document discusses the difference between repentance and reporting. It defines repentance as feeling sincere regret and remorse about one's wrongdoings that leads to a change in actions and thoughts. Reporting is simply giving an account of something observed without genuine regret. The Bible describes repentance as having three parts: showing sorrow for sins, stopping sinful behaviors, and starting righteous service. True repentance involves a life transformation where one turns away from sin and toward God through their deeds. The document encourages examining one's own fruits to determine if they have truly repented or just reported about spiritual matters.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

4. “Zeal in religion is a burning desire to please God,
to do His will, and to advance His glory in the
world in every possible way. It is a desire which
no man feels by nature--which the Spirit puts into
the heart of every believer when he is converted--
but which some believers feel so much more
strongly than others, that they alone deserve to
be called zealous men! This desire is so strong
when it really reigns in a man, that it impels him to
make any sacrifice--to go through any trouble, to
deny himself to any amount-to suffer, to work, to
labor, to toil--to spend himself and be spent, and
even to die--if only he can please God an honor
Christ!” (J.C. Ryle)
5. Who is your favorite superhero?
● Just about every kid goes through a time when
more than anything they like to watch, read & play
with superheroes!
● Superheroes have the ability to do things that are
“impossible!”
●Fly
●Incredible strength
●X-ray vision
● I am afraid far too many read the Bible much like
a comic book, as if the people in it are like
superheroes that we can never really be!
6. Js 5:17 Elijah was a man of flesh and blood
as we are, and he made a strong prayer that
there might be no rain; and there was no rain
on the earth for three years and six months.
● We read about the amazing things God’s
people were able to do and then think, they
are out of our reach!
● The truth is that what we read are
examples of how to live our lives and what
God will do in us, if only we will let Him!
(Rom. 15:4; 1 Cor. 10:1-11)
7. Do We Believe?
● Joh 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he
who believes in Me, the works that I do he will
do also; and greater works than these he will
do, because I go to My Father.”
● Mt 17:20 “So Jesus said to them, "Because
of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if
you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say
to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and
it will move; and nothing will be impossible for
you.”
8. It is my prayer tonight, that
we are not content with
where we are in our faith,
but that we desire to
become an unstoppable
force for Jesus!
9. I. Incredible Zeal Defined!
● What is zeal? Before we can ask if we have
it, we first need to know what it is!
● Zeal = an earnest temper; may be
enlightened Nu 25:11-13; 2Co 7:11; 9:2 or
ignorant and misdirected Ro 10:2; Php 3:6 As
a Christian grace, it must be grounded on
right principles and directed to right ends Ga
4:18 It is sometimes ascribed to God 2Ki
19:31; Isa 9:7; 37:32; Eze 5:13 (Easton’s
Bible Dict.)
10. What is zeal?
Rev 3:15-16 "I know your works, that you are
neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or
hot. "So then, because you are lukewarm, and
neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My
mouth."
●Zeal = great energy or enthusiasm for a
cause or objective (Oxford Univ. Dict.)
●Zeal = a strong feeling of interest and
enthusiasm that makes someone very eager
or determined to do something (Webster)
11. II. Incredible Zeal Described!
If you had to pick a favorite Bible character
who would it be and why?
● Who do you think was most zealous for God?
●Most of us, at least in the New Testament
would pick Paul or Peter, both of which often
showed incredible zeal!
●Phil. 3:6 “Concerning zeal, persecuting the
church; touching the righteousness which is in
the law, blameless.”
12. Peter’s Zeal!
When Jesus was on the Mount of
Transfiguration it was Peter that desired to
build three shelters, when Jesus foretold of His
death it was Peter that declared he would die
with Him, when the soldiers came it was Peter
that drew the sword, it was Peter than ran to
the empty tomb!
● Many often fault Peter for being overly
zealous, but no one can deny that he had a
heart for the Lord
●Jn. 21:7
13. Peter Walks on Water!
(Mt. 14:22-33)
● This has always been one of my favorite
stories, because above all else I too want to be
with Jesus, I too want to rise above the storms!
● Peter know that real safety is found in the
arms of Jesus, not in the boat!
●How many of us are willing to leave the boat?
●Outside of the boat is where the real magic
happens!
14. III. Incredible Zeal Demanded!
So what does all of this mean to us, how is this
lesson important to you and me?
● God is still looking for those that will get out of
the boat, God is still looking for those that will
drew the sword, God is still looking for those that
will not only die for Him, but that will “live for
Him!”
●Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that you present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to
God, which is your reasonable service.
15. Imagine what we could do for Christ if
we would learn to have “incredible zeal!”
● People will travel across the country to go to
a game, but not across town to go to services,
people will camp out for days to get a good
deal, but are not willing to be bothered for the
“greatest deal!”
● It is past time for us to regain “incredible
zeal!”
● It is past time for us to become an
unstoppable force for Jesus!
16. Conclusion:
● How many of us are willing to trust God
enough to “walk on water?” How many of us are
ready to stop looking at the stories of the Bible
as things for them and start looking at them as
things for us!
● Have you come to know the God of the Bible?
Do you need a “lifeguard?” Ours walks on
water!
● We that are Christians, who possess the truth
should be the most excited people in the world!
