This document summarizes a talk given by Russ Fochler at the Blazing Fire Church on September 1st, 2012. The talk discusses the importance of how we see God, the world around us, the future, and ourselves. It emphasizes letting the Holy Spirit give us "upgrades" in our perspective so we can see through "Son Glasses" rather than through fear. It encourages focusing on building relationship with God and showing love to others rather than obsessing over conspiracies. The talk provides tips for staying on the path of life, such as considering the fruit of one's focus and allowing the Holy Spirit to train one's brain.

Recently, I heard some radio programs mentioning the challenge of kindness, or how to make spouses happy unilaterally, or how to promote family harmony in remarried families. These were originally based on goodwill as a start, but they all have one common thing. It is to lift a certain person or a certain group of people aloft and take their happiness, anger, sorrow, and joy as the highest goal. On the surface, it seems achievable, but if you look at it from the perspective of the Bible, this is almost impossible to reach. Because this world is not controlled by man, but God is the boss. So if man’s effort does not conform to God’s will, it will become a waste of energy.

Sometimes I often hear someone to say, I have a relationship with God, but what kind of relationship? Is it like Chinese saying, If there is relationship, then, there is no concern. However, if there is no relationship, then, it is a big concerns. However what kind of relationship, due to polite reasons, usually don't carefully ask in the world. The language of the world is often like this, it will not be clear. But it is also because of this, the conflict between each other can be reduced, but this is a false appearance. One day, you will know that it is a misunderstanding between each other.

From John 14:23, it is mentioned that if we obey God’s commands, Jesus Christ will live in us. But if we do not have the indwelling of Jesus Christ, that means we do not pass the test of the indwelling of Jesus Christ. Then, What is the problem? It means that although we are observing God’s commands on the surface, but in fact we have not obeyed God’s commands. How can we check it out? This is the focus of this chapter.

Chinese people often say that it is necessary to cultivate one’s body and one’s family to govern the country , then, conquer the world. But is that so in the kingdom of God? If so, then what should be different? Why does God say that you are a friend of the world and that you are an enemy of me? So a concept that seems easy to understand is a trap that is easy to fall into. So when we apply it to the church, how should we do it, then what is the standard, whether we will be deceived by the surface illusion, and did not choose disciples who fit God’s will to manage the church

This page will mention why the church has become secular. Let’s start with interpretation of the Great Commandment as an example to understand that doing so will lead to love of God, love of others. And how we cannot do our best in worldly, because of this error, it caused no churches obey GOD’s word, lost God’s blessings, and was assimilated by the world, and finally lost salvation.
Faith, Faith and salvation, Faith creation/maintain ,Examine our faithfranktsao4
Faith has always been a very controversial subject. The reason for the controversy is that we did not follow the interpretation of the original text of the Bible. Just like the following section, when we hear the word of God, love, we use what we understand of the world to explain God’s word, love, which brings others
John. 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. ”
The error, is caused by, when interpreting the Bible, it is not for people to enter the truth, but for people to understand all the truths.

I believe that God’s words must be more flexible and appropriate than the things of the world, and can enable us to live in God’s will.

When something bad happens in the world, Christians will say that this is a thing done by the devil, but is it really the case? Is it the problem caused by the person's own behavior?
Why becomes this way, it’s because everyone says that God is love, then what is love? According to the definition of the worldly love, everything should be nice, and it will never be thought to have anything to do with disasters.
So if God cause this disaster, then, it’s hard to justify it. So we say that all these bad things are the actions of the devil and have nothing to do with Jesus Christ or God. In this way, if we teach others to believe in God, then there is no problem at all. Because God is like a Santa Claus in the eyes of the world. You can ask him for any gift, and he will give it to you with no hesitation.

When we walk the spiritual path, the first thing is to be sanctified, that is, to be separated from the world. This does not mean that we have to leave this world immediately, but that although we are in the world, everything we do, what we say, is representing God. And we can always remain unbiased in God’s truth, and at the same time continue to thrive. This chapter will discuss this topic
14 Useful Questions for the Friendly EvangelistChris Walker
The friendly evangelist needs to have some conversational starter questions to sometimes raise spiritual questions. Questions can be used to diagnose where a person is in their journey to Christ. If you practice personal evangelism, consider adding these questions to your memory for conversations about Jesus. Helpful to know the Engle scale as well

If someone asks you why you don’t believe in God, then there is a similar question, that is, why you should believe in God. Many questions are related to the current religious world. The polluted theology when we run church activities, is it in line with the Bible? Are we able to tolerate other people’s suggestions? Whether what we teach has something to do with real life? Do we no longer do continuous follow-ups after we finish teaching? Until those points produce the desired effect, let’s discuss these in depth.
Freedom and sin, Obey my way => God’s freedom, wash away all our sins, give ...franktsao4
This chapter will discuss a topic of sin and freedom. The reason why this question is raised is that freedom is not only the freedom of God, but the freedom of indulgence without any control in the mind of the world. It is a kind of freedom that can only live in fantasy and It is not the actual freedom in the world. It is like you can drive freely on the road, but you must obey the traffic rules, and others must also obey the traffic rules. But once you do not obey the traffic rules, then, there will be car accidents. In a better situation, the police will issue a ticket. The more serious situation is the endanger of life. Then what is the situation of freedom as God speaks of?
Have a good reputation, Many people, few people, with their fruits, become good franktsao4
When the church chooses a deacon, it often depends on the person’s reputation. Usually as long as no one speaks badly about him, he can probably pass the test. But what is a good reputation? What causes his good reputation? Even he has a bad reputation, should we give him the same opportunity? This also involves the purpose of the church, is like running a social club where everyone is happy to be together, or to make disciple, which God can use The Church of the Good Soldiers
Christian's purpose in life Glorify God, enjoy God, Please God, live with God franktsao4
As we had mentioned before that what God wants us to do is what we can do, but we live in a world controlled by the devil, so we will be brainwashed and like to do things that we can’t do. Then, we will be trapped in a desperate mood, because these things are generally undefined, or humans can’t do it at all, but our energy is spent on whether we achieve it, and we don’t calm down and think about what God has said. And exactly what God wants us to do, this is the focus of this chapter

This change lies in the difference in vision, and everything he sees has changed completely. This should have a great change.

Some people have always been willing to help others. As long as they see other people’s needs, they will be the first to help others. Especially after becoming a Christian, of course, they can’t fall behind others, otherwise, it may make the name of God be tainted. So when you know that others want you to walk one mile, you are going to walk two miles. I am very happy, because what you do is supported by the word of God, and not only does it become more passionate. I also told others that this is the principle of service that we should obey, but whether this approach is in line with God’s requirements, we will analyze this situation carefully.

This is the first part of a series we are doing about faith development at Cafechurch Melbourne (www.cafechurch.org), largely based on John J Shea's book "Finding God Again." We want to be adults, with fully functional adult faith, but how do we go about it? This session is about the God of the superego with which we start our journey. These images of God aren't wrong exactly, but they become increasingly inadequate, and as we develop, we need to develop more adequate notions of God.

Our unconscious awareness takes its cue from the sub-personalities or its alter ego. A sub-personality or alter ego is the person inside of you that listens and takes orders from what you learned as a child, what you learned from the streets, your role models, or what you learned from what someone hasn’t done for you and this causes you to take orders from your past instead of the Holy Spirit.

Coming Home To Our True Identity - Charles Razzellrfochler
Charles Razzell contrasts the attitudes and outcomes for two men who encountered God's power: Simon the Sorcerer and Paul the Apostle (Acts chapters 8 & 9). God calls us to experience sonship and values us accordingly, whereas many of us still tend to assess each other for what we do. The best possible outcome is when we know who we are in Christ and live accordingly; Jesus being the Vine, and we the branches. How Does Fear Fit With The New Covenant of Grace? Acts 5:11-42rfochler
Continuing our study of the Book of Acts, Pastor Brent looks at Acts 5:11-42. Like the discussion last week, Brent helps us consider scriptures we sometimes wonder what to do with. This time, we take a deeper look at what kind of fear is appropriate in the lives of believers given that "perfect love drives out fear." Pastor Brent Lokker highlights the defining characteristics of the fellowship of believers as described in Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-37. Rather than treat these ideas as confined to the first century, Pastor Brent demonstrates that breaking of bread, praying for one another and taking care of each other's practical needs remain as defining marks of Holy Spirit-inspired communities today. Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

What Should be the Christian View of Anime?Joe Muraguri
We will learn what Anime is and see what a Christian should consider before watching anime movies? We will also learn a little bit of Shintoism religion and hentai (the craze of internet pornography today).
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
1. In Search of
“Son” Glasses
• Sadly, the audio recording was not
usable for the first part of the talk.
• To catch up with when the audio
starts, go to slide 11 - “How I
Perceive the World Around Me”
9. The Importance of:
•How we see God
• How we see the world around us
• What we believe about the future
10. The Importance of:
•How we see God
• How we see the world around us
• What we believe about the future
• How we see ourselves
11. How I Perceive God
• As children, we try to make sense of our
experiences - and we draw conclusion
about how life works.
• Is God there? Is God loving? Is God really
with us? Will God help us?
• The conclusions we “get” from emotional
experiences become part of our
“background” operating system - and are
hard to change.
12. This is why...
• We need Jesus to meet us and help us replace our
childish assumptions - with Himself and His life-
giving truth.
• We need to meet Jesus, see that He is safe - and
release the pent-up griefs, sorrows, traumas, fears -
to Him
• There can be a big gap between what we know
we’re supposed to believe - and what we really
“feel” and act when under stress.
13. And this is why...
• It can be so hard to emotionally trust God
and therefore “let” Him be who He wants
to be for us.
• Do you remember Lonnie’s question?
14. "Do you want God to be the God you want
Him to be in your life !
or !
ARE YOU WILLING to let God be the God
that He wants to be in your life?"
Being WILLING means that we choose to quoted by: Lonnie Ellis!
stay present with God even when we want
to run or “change the channel”....
15. The Most Profound Question
• For every heart, every soul:
• “Is God truly good - for me?”
• Taste & See!
• Accept the Quest
16. How I Perceive the World
Around Me?
• Is the world generally a “good” place, a
“bad” place, or even a “scary” place?
• What do I assume about the people around
me - “good”, “bad”, or “scary”?
• If I experience the world as basically scary,
then its likely that I look to “fear” to help
keep me safe.
17. What We Believe
About the Future
Do we believe that things will get worse and
worse - and then Jesus will rescue the
remnant of faithful believers who are left?
Or
Do we believe that the government and
peace of Jesus will continue to increase
(Isaiah 9:7) and Jesus will return for a Bride
who is fit to be His eternal “help-meet”?
18. Wait...
• Doesn’t the Bible teach that things will get
really bad and then Jesus will return?
• Isn’t the “The Late Great Planet Earth” and
the “Left Behind” Series based on the Bible?
20. What We Believe About The Future...
Will Shape How We View
The World and Our Life
21. What Lenses Am I
Seeing Through?
• Ask the Holy Spirit: “Where do You want to
give me an Upgrade in how I “see” ?
• Help me see You Abba - more clearly, more
fully.
• Help me see the world, the future, and
myself more the Way that You do
22. Kris Vallotton believes that
God creates human history
through our agreement
• The way God creates history is by
anointing people to see the future with His
perspective, and call it into existence (see
Romans 4:17) (from “Heavy Rain pg 203)
• Romans 4:17 “(as it is written, “I have made
you a father of many nations”) in the
presence of Him whom he believed—God,
who gives life to the dead and calls those
things which do not exist as though they
did;
23. Showing Love for
Generations to Come....
• “The secret things belong to the LORD our
God, but the things revealed belong to us and
our sons forever.” Deut 29:29
• “Prophetic revelation unlocks the hidden
treasures that are to be handed down from
generation to generation. But in order for us to
prophesy and thus lay a foundation for a
multigenerational inheritance, we must believe
that there is supposed to be a future.” Kris
Vallotton page 204-205
24. More from Kris:
• “In the winter of 2007, the LORD spoke to me
saying: “The spirit of fatalism and the spirit of
martyrdom were holding back the apostolic age.”
• The church is notorious for using fear as a
primary motivation to get people to come into
the Kingdom.
• ...it is actually the kindness of God that leads us to
repentance (Romans 2:4). So it is very difficult to
keep people in the Kingdom who have been driven
there predominantly by a fatalist eschatology.
(Kris Vallotton page 205)
25. Seeing with a father’s eyes
“I know that I can’t stay in the end-time
theology that is stealing my children’s
future, instilling fear as the primary
motivation for serving the Father and
undermining the Great Commission to
make disciples of all nations.” (Kris
Vallotton “Heavy Rain” page 213)
26. I’m concerned about...
• Christian friends who are “riveted” by
• Various conspiracy stories on the
internet.
• A spirit of fatalism and the mistaken sense
that the Bible teaches us to expect things
will only get worse. This mindset makes
people more susceptable to these stories.
27. We Can Easily Be
“Hooked” by Fear
• God created us with emotions - including
fear. Fear of hot stoves, fear of a wild
beast nearby, even the clean “fear of God”
helps us respond swiftly to dangers.
• But, unless we know (experientially) and
trust the Trinity to keep us on the path of
life, its easy to slip into looking to fear - and
spirits of fear to “keep us safe”.
28. The Fear of Being Deceived
• Some Believers take the warnings in the
Bible to not be deceived - as their “prime
directive”.
• This results in looking for and focussing on
evil conspiracies and deceptions.
• It also can easily result in feeling “elite”
29. Keys to Life
• Not all truth in the Scriptures has the same
“weight”. And the Bible is clear about God’s
priorities - if we have eyes to see.
• What are the greatest commandments?
• What is the greatest motivation?
• What is Jesus asking His Father for?
• How are we saved?
• What mission has Jesus given us?
30. Keep the “main and plain” of
scripture, the main and plain of
your life....
• True Relationship with Jesus, with
Father God, with Holy Spirit.
• Genuine love and kindness towards
people.
• A “bridal” perspective.
31. Ask Holy Spirt to
Lead You Into All Truth
• As loved sons and daughters, receive the
“Son Glasses” to see the Word and the
World with.
• If a section of Scripture isn’t clear, ask Holy
Spirit what He wants you to “take in” this
time from that section. Look at the
context and summarize what is clear to
you.
• Bible notes, commentaries, etc. can help
35. The Importance of:
•How we see God
• How we see the world around us
• What we believe about the future
36. The Importance of:
•How we see God
• How we see the world around us
• What we believe about the future
• How we see ourselves
37. Really Good Questions
to Ask Regularly:
• Father, how do You see me?
• What do You want me to know about
myself?
• What upgrades to you want give me -
so I can live more fully as a Daughter
or Son?
39. Consider the “Fruit”
• Stop and consider the things that you are
focussed on; where your heart is engaged.
• What is the “fruit” or what will be the
“fruit” as you continue on these paths?
• Fear, elitism, obsession, general distrust, a
“bunker” mentality (for example) aren’t
fruits of the Holy Spirit....
• All Kingdom matters are matters of the
heart!
40. Allow the Holy Spirit
to Train your Brain
• What we are looking for is what we notice.
(Our reticular activating system).
• Let what is true, noble, lovely, pure, etc.
capture your attention (Phil 4:8)
• Ask the Holy Spirit alert you to the
dangers or evil that you need to see - and
deal with it with His wisdom and power.
• “For God has not given us a spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound
mind.” 2 Tim 1:7
