There are less instances of divorce among Christians but it still happens. This lesson explores some of the reasons Christians divorce, despite training and teaching to the contrary, and how to avoid this situation.
BROTHERHOOD IS ONE FLOCK UNDER ONE SHEPHERDNkor Ioka
CHRISTIAN SUPERNATURAL TEACHINGS, BIBLE CLASS LESSONS, GOSPELS BY LEADER OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU, THE SUPERNATURAL TEACHER AND SOLE SPIRITUAL HEAD, BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR
An Angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah's wife when the Philistines had overrun Israel, and He told her that she would have a son who would begin to deliver Israel from oppressions.
This document summarizes a sermon on 1 Corinthians 13:5, which says love does not brag. It defines bragging as boastfulness and discusses how some in the Corinthian church were arrogant about their wisdom, wealth, or spiritual gifts. The sermon teaches that Christians should not boast but should humble themselves, as God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Believers' worth comes from understanding God, not their own accomplishments or status.
The summary provides an overview of the Methodist Girls High School Old Girls' Association service program and event:
The Methodist Girls High School Old Girls' Association held a church service program to connect alumnae and raise funds for the school. The program included hymns, prayers, readings, and an address by guest speaker Dr. Violet Showers Johnson. An offering was collected during the service and blessed. The event aimed to bring together alumnae from around the world to support the 134-year old school and its mission of providing education opportunities for girls in Sierra Leone.
God forbids adultery and any sexual activity outside of marriage according to the 6th commandment. This includes premarital sex, pornography, lustful thoughts, homosexuality, and more. God requires married couples to honor their marriage vows, remain faithful to each other, and love one another. The document examines what behaviors God prohibits and expects of married and unmarried people according to scripture. It provides Bible verses to support the definitions and requirements related to upholding a morally pure lifestyle and honoring the sanctity of marriage.
This document provides the order of service for a commissioning service for provisional members on June 19, 2015 at the Western North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The service includes hymns, prayers, scripture readings, and a blessing and benediction to commission the provisional members in their ministries.
Fathers matter to God. The relationship of fathers and their kids really matters to God. What is a good father? This message has good things to say about all that and more.
This document discusses how to avoid offending others and being offended in spiritual matters. It emphasizes resolving conflicts privately according to Jesus' teachings in Matthew 18:15-17. Unresolved conflicts can give Satan an advantage and hinder spiritual life. The document urges believers to be considerate of weaker faith, forgive readily, and restore fallen brothers through confrontation guided by love.

The document discusses the importance of friendship in Christianity. It makes three main points:
1) Friendship must be proven through sacrificial love, as demonstrated by Jesus laying down his life for others.
2) Friendship must be practiced by loving one another as commanded by Jesus, as shown through kindness, loyalty, and mutual support.
3) Friendship must be proclaimed, so others know we are Christ's disciples by our love for one another. Christians are called to live out true friendship modeled by Jesus.

JAMES 6 - YOUR SEAT, JESUS SEAT - PTR RICHARD NILLO - 6:30PM EVENING SERVICEMarcus Amaba
This document discusses the problem of showing partiality or favoritism in church. It describes a scenario from the book of James where a rich man is given a good seat in church while a poor man is told to stand in a lesser area. The document argues that Christianity teaches equality, and that in God's eyes, all people are equally sinful and in need of salvation, so no one should be shown partial favoritism over others. It encourages treating all people with equality and fairness as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The document argues that this shows partiality, which is condemned in the Bible. Christians are called to treat all people with equality and not judge others based on wealth or status. “IT IS NOT HOW YOU START, BUT HOW YOU FINISH !!!”LifeJunxion
This document discusses how it is not how you start something but how you finish that matters. It uses the examples of two biblical kings, Saul and David, to illustrate this point. Both Saul and David started well in serving God but Saul's life ended tragically due to disobedience and jealousy, while David served God's purposes throughout his life. The document encourages readers to focus on finishing well in their walk with God and serving His purposes.
The document discusses the concept of love, including its definition, types (agape and phileo), and characteristics of true love. It also addresses the issue of commitment in teenage relationships. While relationships used to require more commitment before, today they are often shallow and based primarily on physical attraction. This can lead to problems like one-sided love, depression, and regret. The document provides biblical perspectives on love and relationships, emphasizing that love is a decision requiring commitment, honesty, communication and putting God at the center.
This document discusses the importance of partnerships. It uses biblical examples of partnerships like Esther and Mordecai, and Paul and Silas. It encourages being a good partner by setting yourself apart, not relying only on looks, seeking counsel from others, and making the other person as important as yourself. The tips suggest prayerfully accepting counsel and being a willing participant. The overall message is that preparation and partnership are keys to occupying and retaining a position or "throne".
The document discusses the concept of freedom, particularly freedom found through Jesus Christ. It provides biblical passages about freedom from bondage to sin and Satan, and being set free by the Son. It encourages avoiding returning to bondage through sinful behaviors and instead using freedom in Christ to serve one another in love. Freedom is found by submitting to God as His slaves through Christ, rather than allowing freedom to be an excuse for evil. True freedom is a gift from God.
This document discusses how God uses difficulties and struggles to strengthen and shape people's character. It provides several examples of people who overcame disabilities or illnesses to accomplish great things, such as Helen Keller becoming an author and speaker despite being deaf and blind. The document argues that while troubles are hard, God uses them for good and to bring spiritual benefits if people trust in Him during difficult times.
Annoucements and Opening Prayer March 16, 2014tkennedy4010

To God All the Glory!
The document discusses biblical principles for financial blessing and proper work ethic from a Christian perspective. It emphasizes having the right attitude about work, working with excellence as serving God rather than men, being humble and submitting to authority, choosing work that matches one's talents, developing skills through training, maintaining a positive outlook, and allowing Christ to control one's powers. Key verses encourage relying on God rather than being self-righteous, being faithful in all tasks, and overcoming fear, laziness, or gloomy attitudes.
An opening prayer before a meeting. Ideal for educational institutions with a theme of engaging learners in the spirit of Jesus' light and love. The prayer integrates a Gospel reading about being a light for the world.
This document discusses faith and leadership. It provides examples of faith from the Bible, including Moses as a leader who realized he could not complete his tasks alone and delegated responsibilities to others. The document also discusses showing love through actions, such as helping others in need. Roatan, Honduras is mentioned as the location for sports camps and conferences to bring people together and build faith.
1) Christian friendship is a gift from God that binds believers together through trials and adversity.
2) True Christian friends help each other through difficulties, encourage perseverance in faith, and keep each other accountable to spiritual growth and unity.
3) Friendships require investment of time and care, but provide fellowship and strength in numbers against life's challenges until believers are reunited in heaven.

“Retention is the new acquisition and customer service is the new marketing." -Joe Connelly
The data is in: keeping and growing the donors you have is a better use of your time and money than finding new ones. But are we doing all we can to make the our causes deserve to feel special, appreciated and valued?
As non-profits we are focused on our bottom lines and fiscal year ends. But that’s not how our donors measure our work. They pay attention to the thank-yous they receive and how they feel when they get them. Maybe that is why, as a sector, we have a big problem: donors are falling out of love with giving to us.
Join Rory Green as she explores why your donors support you and why they stop.Together we’ll dive into real life examples examples of what charities have done to keep their donors. You will be inspired to make Donor Love a priority in your digital work and walk away with the practical tips to help donors keep that loving feeling.

3) Friendships require investment of time and care, but provide fellowship and strength in numbers against life's challenges until believers are reunited in heaven.

Keeping the Digital Donor Love Alive & Thriving

The document discusses how Christians can bear fruit as discussed in John 15. It says that Christians can bear the fruit of the Spirit by developing love, joy, peace and other qualities through reading the Bible. They can also bear fruit for ministry by witnessing to others and expanding the church. Finally, Christians can bear fruit for themselves by remaining close to God through reading the Bible, which will lead to blessings and a happy, contented life. The overall message is that Christians are called to be fruitful by developing spiritually and bringing others to God.

The document discusses how marriage relationships can reveal our weaknesses to each other, help us recognize our own weaknesses, and teach us to value one another. It also talks about how marriage relationships have the potential to affirm our identities, heal wounds from the past through selfless love, and provide a context for both giving and receiving grace and forgiveness. The overall message is that marriage can powerfully shape us through truth, love, and grace if we learn to love our spouse on their terms.
This document provides an overview of spiritual formation and different approaches to spirituality from a biblical perspective. It discusses that there are many facets and approaches to spirituality, and outlines 12 different facets including relational spirituality, disciplined spirituality, exchanged life spirituality, and corporate spirituality. The goal is to appreciate diversity in approaches while keeping them biblically grounded.
This document discusses various views on human sexuality and sexual morality from a Christian perspective. It addresses topics like premarital sex, masturbation, pornography, and cohabitation. Three main views on premarital sex are outlined: the natural impulse view, which sees sex as a pleasurable physical act; the affection view, which believes sex should be guided by intimacy between partners; and the abstinence view, which prohibits sex outside of marriage. The document also discusses sexuality within marriage and debates topics like how far physical intimacy can go before marriage.
The document describes 8 types of love relationships based on the factors of intimacy, passion, and commitment. The types range from casual relationships with no intimacy, passion, or commitment, to consummate love which involves high levels of all three factors and describes long-term relationships. Companionate love involves intimacy and commitment but not passion, often seen in long-term marriages where the initial passion has faded.
This presentation compares love marriages and arranged marriages. Love marriages occur when two people fall in love and choose to commit to each other, but can face issues like family disapproval or financial problems. Arranged marriages are set up by families and ensure understanding between partners and families as well as long-lasting relationships, but may involve dowry problems or difficulties adjusting. Ultimately, the conclusion is that successful marriages are built on trust, care and honesty regardless of how the couple met.
This document discusses the concept of love from various perspectives. It begins by outlining different definitions of love, including love as an intense feeling, family, sex, nature, and God. It then examines three stages of love - lust, attraction, and attachment - and the biological factors involved in each stage. The document also explores five historical types of love defined by ancient Greeks: eros, philia, agape, storge, and xenia. It reviews research on love from 1904 to the present day, including theories that love involves attachment, is a process of uncertainty reduction, and can be understood through models involving intimacy, passion and commitment. The document concludes by discussing how love can be applied and reframed in a coaching
WTF - Why the Future Is Up to Us - pptx versionTim O'Reilly
This is the talk I gave January 12, 2017 at the G20/OECD Conference on the Digital Future in Berlin. I talk about fitness landscapes as applied to technology and business, the role of unchecked financialization in the state of our politics and economy, and why technology really wants to create jobs, not destroy them. (There is a separate PDF version, but some readers said the notes were too fuzzy to read.)
Dating is a relatively new concept in human history. God's word has all we need to apply His desire to ours. A study on dating and engagement. The dating game 1 Corinthians 7:25-40
Want to have a good marriage? Choose the right person. Probably just as important is to be the right person. How do you determine what it means to be the right person?
Look at the teaching of Jesus on the beatitudes. Matthew 5:3-11. By examining the characteristics outlined here for the citizen in the kingdom of heaven one can put together an image of what is needed in marriage.
This document provides biblical guidelines for good relationships between boys and girls. It encourages accepting God's attitudes and viewpoints, believing in God's plan and high ideals, and committing one's future to God. It discusses developing wise patterns of living and character by controlling thoughts, relating properly to others, and setting limits in dating. The overall message is that God's commands regarding sex, words, and thoughts are meant to protect relationships and bring fulfillment, not restrictiveness.
The document outlines four lies that people believe and the corresponding biblical truths. The lies are: 1) That one can control their own life, when in reality we must rely on God's sovereignty. 2) That leisure and comfort are worthwhile pursuits, when God desires us to focus on his purposes. 3) That hidden sins don't hurt anyone, when all sins are exposed to God. 4) That we are the most important people in our lives, when we must love God with our whole being. The document encourages relying on God's sovereignty, prioritizing his work over leisure, seeking his forgiveness and wholeness, and loving him completely.
This document discusses resolving conflict in marriage. It begins by noting common signs of trouble between couples like no longer laughing together or avoiding your spouse. It then examines the root causes of conflict as unmet expectations and selfishness. Finally, it provides advice for resolving conflicts, such as acting instead of reacting, focusing on the good, talking instead of walking away, showing consideration, learning to forgive, and changing yourself instead of trying to change your spouse. The overarching message is that marriage can succeed with God's design, example of love, teachings, and forgiveness.

CCL Open Night 4 - Singleness and Marriagerebelz11
The document discusses singleness, marriage, and relationships. It notes statistics showing an increase in single adults and a decline in marriage rates in Australia between 1986 and 2006. It also examines passages from 1 Corinthians 7 regarding relationships, marriage, and instructions for both married and unmarried individuals. The document explores the purposes and benefits of both singleness and marriage, including lifelong faithful companionship, safe haven for erotic love, and procreation within marriage.
This document contains scripture passages and commentary about living according to God's word. It discusses memorizing and living by scripture, looking only to the truth of God's word, sanctifying oneself through God's truth, avoiding relationships with angry people, being diligent in work, and finishing well. The overall message encourages trusting fully in God and his word, and living a life consistent with his teachings.
141130 eng what do you do series (part 5 - do not be angry) by jonathan bala...eaglepointcf
The document discusses dealing with anger and wickedness based on Psalm 37. It provides guidance on trusting God's timing when faced with evildoers, remembering that God has forgiven our sins through Jesus Christ, and expressing our anger to God rather than acting in anger ourselves. The Psalm advises ceasing from anger and forsaking wrath. While anger is a natural human response, it does not produce righteousness and can be harmful if not properly addressed.
The document discusses what the Bible teaches about marriage. It provides several key points:
1) Marriage is a monogamous, lifelong commitment between one man and one woman established and witnessed by God.
2) The Bible depicts marriage as reflecting the relationship between Christ and the Church, with the husband serving as the loving head of the relationship and the wife willingly submitting to his leadership.
3) Within this relationship of authority and submission, both husband and wife are equal and the husband is called to sacrificially love and cherish his wife as Christ did the Church, without mistreatment. The relationship is intended to be fruitful.
This document discusses biblical views on divorce and remarriage. It presents the following key points:
- Marriage is a covenant that can be broken through intentional and continuous breaking of promises. The wronged party can end the covenant if it is broken beyond repair.
- God divorced Israel as an example, acknowledging the covenant was already broken by Israel's adultery, not by God. Divorce is acceptable when one party breaks the covenant.
- Jesus allowed for divorce in cases of adultery. Paul added divorce is allowed if an unbelieving spouse abandons the believer.
- In Jesus' time, Jewish views ranged from only allowing divorce for abuse/abandonment to allowing it for any reason
This document discusses the Seventh-day Adventist views on marriage, family, and divorce. It outlines that marriage was divinely established as a lifelong union between a man and a woman. Divorce is acceptable only in cases of adultery, and remarriage is prohibited while the divorced spouse is still living. Children are a blessing when raised in the knowledge of God. The family plays an important role in spiritual nurture and is intended to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church.
The document discusses the importance of honoring one's spouse based on the biblical passage of Malachi 2:10-16. It makes two main points: 1) Marrying a foreign spouse or being unfaithful goes against honoring God. 2) Divorcing or mistreating one's spouse is considered treacherous and displeasing to God. It notes high divorce rates today and questions whether this reflects a lack of honoring attitudes. The conclusion encourages husbands to honor their wives so that their prayers will not be hindered, as God is present in marriages.
This document discusses the sin of adultery and immorality. It defines adultery as any sexual activity outside of marriage, and identifies four types: physical, mental, legal, and spiritual. Adultery destroys homes and societies, sins against the body and soul, and goes against God's commandments. However, forgiveness is possible through repentance, which requires deciding to change one's mind and actions regarding sin.
The sermon discusses learning to avoid the snare of the devil through adultery and lustful thoughts. It outlines three goals: 1) To be alerted to the devil's snares. 2) To learn how to overcome the devil's snares. 3) To learn from others' mistakes and successes in dealing with the devil's snares. The sermon provides biblical examples of people who struggled or overcame temptation, like Job, Samson, and discusses applying spiritual armor from Ephesians to resist the devil.
This document discusses the sin of adultery and sexual immorality. It defines adultery and identifies four types: physical, mental, legal, and spiritual. It notes adultery destroys homes and societies, sins against the body and soul, and is a sin against God. While forgiveness is possible through repentance, adultery has severe consequences. The overall message is that sexual immorality violates clear biblical commands and is wrong.
CCL Open Night - What to do with World Need?rebelz11
The document discusses how to address global poverty and need. It begins by examining several passages from the Bible that command caring for the poor and vulnerable. This includes not taking advantage of foreigners, widows, orphans, and providing assistance through gleanings from farms and forgiving debts. It then discusses how to grapple with the problems, noting the tension between addressing near and far issues, and dealing with complex "wicked problems" that have no simple solution and are rooted in historical injustices and current unfair systems and practices. Finally, it examines the idea of moving forward based on generosity and grace rather than commands or obligations.
This document contrasts covetousness and contentment. It defines covetousness as a sinful longing for what others have that is forbidden by the 10th commandment. Covetousness stems from pride and leads to idolatry by making material possessions or status the focus rather than God. Contentment, on the other hand, is finding satisfaction in what God has provided through trusting in His care and provision. The document provides numerous Bible verses condemning covetousness and promoting contentment.

In this section of Mark's gospel the writer uses the miracles where Jesus heals the blind and deaf as a preview of the opening of the Apostles' unbelieving eyes and ears. (Mark 7:1 - 8:38)
In this section of Mark's gospel, the author profiles four powerful situations where those who witness Christ's power believe in Him as Lord and Savior. (Mark 4:34-6:56)
From the opening verse we immediately see Mark's goal of presenting Jesus as a divine being through the witness of His teaching and miracles. (Mark 1:1-45)

The Book of Samuel is a book in the Hebrew Bible, found as two books in the Old Testament. The book is part of the Deuteronomistic history, a series of books that constitute a theological history of the Israelites and that aim to explain God's law for Israel under the guidance of the prophets.
The Book of Ruth is included in the third division, or the Writings, of the Hebrew Bible. In most Christian canons it is treated as one of the historical books and placed between Judges and 1 Samuel.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
