Now that the Apostles have acknowledged Jesus' true identity as the Son of God, the Lord begins a more in depth teaching on the subjects of His mission and the nature of His Kingdom. (Mark 9:1-10:52)

Matthew 6;9-13,
Thy Kingdom Come, What Does The Bible Say It Will Be Will It Be Like,
Many Christians Fail To Understand Their Position “In Christ” and Try To Put Themselves Back Under The Law.
So If We’re Not Living In The Kingdom Of God Now, Who’s Kingdom Is This?
Here is my attempt to explain in short fashion what the Bible has to tell us about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, complete with my own short testimony of who God “zapped” me in as a Marine Lieutenant in Japan in 1973. God wants to fill us all again and again with His Spirit so we can be powerful and fruitful witnesses for Him here and around the world.
Pray for God to fill you again and to baptize you with His Spirit if you have never experienced that.
This about Transfiguration.
Jesus is both Man and God, Transfiguration is an important evidence of it. Jesus is Hypostatic Union, He is both Man and God. He is one of the person in Deity. It is an important evidence for people who say that Christ is less in Person due to some Heretical Influence, Everything is carefully dealed.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
3. Teaching on the “kingdom”
And Jesus was saying to them, “Truly I say
to you, there are some of those who are
standing here who will not taste death until
they see the kingdom of God after it has
come with power.”
-Mark 9:1
4. • Kingdom = BASILEIA = Sovereignty
• Where God’s rule is accepted
• Kingdom of God on earth = the church
6. Six days later, Jesus took with Him Peter
and James and John, and brought them up
on a high mountain by themselves. And He
was transfigured before them; and His
garments became radiant and exceedingly
white, as no launderer on earth can whiten
them. Elijah appeared to them along with
Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
- Mark 9:2-4
7. Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good
for us to be here; let us make three
tabernacles, one for You, and one for
Moses, and one for Elijah.” For he did
not know what to answer; for they
became terrified.
- Mark 9:5-6
8. Then a cloud formed, overshadowing
them, and a voice came out of the
cloud, “This is My beloved Son, listen to
Him!” All at once they looked around
and saw no one with them anymore,
except Jesus alone.
- Mark 9:7-8
11. As they were coming down from the
mountain, He gave them orders not to relate
to anyone what they had seen, until the Son
of Man rose from the dead. They seized
upon that statement, discussing with one
another what rising from the dead meant.
They asked Him, saying, “Why is it that the
scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
- Mark 9:9-11
12. And He said to them, “Elijah does first
come and restore all things. And yet
how is it written of the Son of Man that
He will suffer many things and be
treated with contempt? But I say to you
that Elijah has indeed come, and they
did to him whatever they wished, just as
it is written of him.”
- Mark 9:12-13
13. Teaching about the Messiah
• O.T. said Elijah would return – Mal.
4:5-6
• John the Baptist fulfilled this
prophecy
• Messiah = Anointed One
14. Christ = Gr. Form of Messiah
• Orthodox
• Conservative
• Reform
• Zionist
15. The True Messiah Would:
• Free them from sin
• Regain entry to Heaven
• Provide a relationship with God
• Rule men’s hearts & minds
• Bring peace of mind
• Accomplish all with cross
16. Teaching about Power
• Jesus heals demon-possessed boy
• Why apostles couldn’t do it
1. Father lacked faith
2. Lack of prayer
3. Lack of humility
17. Getting up, He went from there to the region of
Judea and beyond the Jordan; crowds gathered
around Him again, and, according to His
custom, He once more began to teach them.
Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing
Him, and began to question Him whether it was
lawful for a man to divorce a wife. And He
answered and said to them, “What did Moses
command you?” They said, “Moses permitted a
man to write a certificate of divorce and send
her away.”
- Mark 10:1-4
18. But Jesus said to them, “Because of your
hardness of heart he wrote you this
commandment. But from the beginning of
creation, God made them male and
female. For this reason a man shall leave
his father and mother, and the two shall
become one flesh; so they are no longer
two, but one flesh. What therefore God has
joined together, let no man separate.”
- Mark 10:5-9
19. In the house the disciples began
questioning Him about this again. And
He said to them, “Whoever divorces his
wife and marries another woman
commits adultery against her; and if she
herself divorces her husband and
marries another man, she is committing
adultery.”
- Mark 10:10-12
20. Sex / Money / Power
• Legalized sex was moral
• God made the laws about sex and
marriage
– God created sex and marriage
– Marriage a lifetime union
– Legally and morally dissolved because
of sexual immorality
21. Sex / Money / Power
• Rich Young Ruler
• Attachment to wealth was the obstacle to salvation
• Apostles rewarded for faith
– New family (church)
– New wealth (spiritual blessings)
– New life (eternal life)
• The cross is the price HE has to pay
22. James and John, the two sons of
Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying,
“Teacher, we want You to do for us
whatever we ask of You.” And He said to
them, “What do you want Me to do for
you?” They said to Him, “Grant that we
may sit, one on Your right and one on
Your left, in Your glory.”
- Mark 10:35-37
23. But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what
you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup
that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism
with which I am baptized?” They said to Him,
“We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The
cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be
baptized with the baptism with which I am
baptized. But to sit on My right or on My left,
this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for
whom it has been prepared.”
- Mark 10:38-40
24. Hearing this, the ten began to feel
indignant with James and John. Calling
them to Himself, Jesus said to them,
“You know that those who are
recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord
it over them; and their great men
exercise authority over them.;
- Mark 10:41-42
25. But it is not this way among you, but
whoever wishes to become great among
you shall be your servant; and whoever
wishes to be first among you shall be
slave of all. For even the Son of Man did
not come to be served, but to serve, and
to give His life a ransom for many.”
- Mark 10:43-45
26. Then they came to Jericho. And as He
was leaving Jericho with His disciples
and a large crowd, a blind beggar
named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus,
was sitting by the road. When he heard
that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he
began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of
David, have mercy on me!”
- Mark 10:46-47
27. Many were sternly telling him to be quiet,
but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of
David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus
stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they
called the blind man, saying to him, “Take
courage, stand up! He is calling for you.”
Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up
and came to Jesus.
- Mark 10:48-50
28. And answering him, Jesus said, “What
do you want Me to do for you?” And the
blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want
to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to
him, “Go; your faith has made you well.”
Immediately he regained his sight and
began following Him on the road.
- Mark 10:51-52
29. Sex / Money / Power
• Apostles struggle for power and
position
• Jesus responds in two ways:
– Nature of kingdom
• Innocence and service
– Heals the blind man
