This paper presents an improved p-q harmonic detection method for hybrid active power filters (HAPF) using fuzzy logic to address issues with overshoot and transient time during rapid load changes. The traditional p-q method suffers from significant transient times and inaccuracies under non-ideal conditions; the proposed improvement enhances the filter's dynamic response and stability. Simulation results indicate that the new method reduces overshoot and offers better performance in rapidly changing load situations.
