An immediate denture is a complete or partial denture that is inserted on the same day as tooth extraction. It acts as a bandage to protect tissues and reduce bleeding, allowing patients to establish speech patterns and chew better right away. While it provides benefits immediately after extraction, an immediate denture may not fit as accurately as a conventional denture initially. Not all patients are candidates for an immediate denture due to health conditions or oral problems. The process takes 4-5 visits over 6-8 weeks to complete for a full immediate denture.
