- The geographic area of the GMR encompass an area with a 100 km radius from the Plaza del Sol in Madrid, including the City of Madrid itself, as well as other nearby cities such as Toledo, Segovia, Avila, Guadalajara and Aranjuez.
- “European Diagonal” is an emergent “Global Gateway Region” that can complement the “European Pentagon” (London-Paris-Hamburg-Munich-Milan) The study will consider how the “European Diagonal” is being configured and integrated through infrastructure and transport systems, economic, mobility and environment strategies etc, to become a complementary space to the “European Pentagon.”
