The International Labour Organisation aims to promote universal and lasting peace through cooperation between governments, employers, and workers on issues of social justice. It convenes the annual International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, where the 185 member states adopt labor standards and discuss critical issues. The Governing Body acts as the ILO's executive arm by setting policy, agendas, and budgets, and elects the Director-General to head the International Labour Office secretariat.

4. International Labour Conference (ILC) is a meeting
point for 185 member States (government, workers and
employers equally represented) where they adopt
standards and discuss critical issues. This normally
takes place during May - June at Palais des Nations,
Geneva, Switzerland.

5. The Governing Body (GB) is ILO’s executive arm which
meets thrice a year (March, June and November).
It takes decisions on ILO policy, decides the agenda of
the International Labour Conference, adopts the draft
Programme and Budget of the Organization for
submission to the Conference, and elects the Director-
General.

6. The International Labour Office is headed by a
Director General, elected every five (5) years by the
GB. The Office acts as ILO’s Secretariat.
