Alternative Future Energy Storage And Conversion Systems
Metal air batteries have been intensively explored as an alternative future energy
storage and conversion systems owing to their intrinsically high energy and power
densities, the relatively mature research on air electrode, and cost effective
composition of non noble fuel electrode, as well as in response to the high energy
demand for portable devices and electric vehicles even stationary power plants [1
5]. Of late, research into the metal air techniques has been focused on Zn air
(~1,000 Wh kg 1), Li air (~13,000 Wh kg 1), and Ge air (~1,500 Wh kg 1) batteries
because of its very high specific energy and energy density with open cell air
cathode structure [3 6]. With these devices, however, the electrochemical energy
could be stored in the stationary part as form of sacrificial metal anode. This distinct
architecture would make a limitation approach for large scale commercialization
unless the anode can provide good electrochemical reversibility and high cyclic
durability.
As a feasible alternative to continuous operation, recently, a high temperature liquid
metal air energy storage cell (LMAESC) in conjunction with a solid oxide electrolyte
has been investigated applying post transition metals such as In [7], Sn [7 17], Sb
[18 25], Pb [7], and Bi [12] as a sacrificial electrode, so called liquid metal anode
(LMA). Since these liquid metals has relatively low melting point, it can improve the

A Report On The Outbreak Of Salmonella
Salmonella is a gram negative bacterium present in contaminated food or water.
Typhoid fever is a systemic infection caused by the serotype Salmonella typhi and can
be fatal without proper intervention. Instances of resistant typhoid are high in less
developed countries. Resistance occurs when genetic mutations prevent antibiotic
mechanisms of action, making current antibiotics less effective. The purpose of this
drug screen was to target oncological drugs and diversity library compounds to
identify novel antibiotic substances. To perform the initial drug screen, we exposed
Salmonellatyphimurium to various compounds and chemotherapeutic drugs. The
positive and negative controls were ampicillin and Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO),
respectively. We used spectrophotometry to measure the growth of salmonella in
the plate. Hits were identified as compounds with an absorbance below 2 standard
deviations of the mean DMSO value, meaning that hits would have an absorbance
below 0.065. We identified that the FDA approved drug capecitabine had an
average absorbance of 0.035. To perform a dosing series, capecitabine was diluted
in a 1:2 ratio, making 13 dilutions total. The dosing series revealed that capecitabine
is most effective at doses lower than 6.25 ОјM. Through this process, we determined
that the oncological drug Capecitabine (Xeloda) has dose dependent antibiotic

The Importance Of Boy Scouts
One of the biggest influences in my life has been scouting. I have been in Boy
Scouts for as long as I can remember, and the entirety of it has made me a better
person. It has taught me many things such as cooperation, responsibility, and
leadership. Scouting has lead me to some fantastic places, like Japan. I do not know
what my life could possibly be like if I was never in scouting. Being a part of the Boy
Scouts has lead me to some truly amazing places. The most amazing was the island
nation of Japan. While I was in Japan I attended the twenty third World Scout
Jamboree. It was a massive event, with over twenty five thousand people from one
hundred and thirty eight countries in attendance. While there, I was able to have
conversations with people from many of these different countries. I was able to

Hiroshima and remembered all of those who died. Another really fun aspect that
Jamboree offered was, patch trading. Everyone brought patches to trade, and it was

Jesus made it clear to the disciples that they had to be born again of the Holy Spirit
once He ascended to Heaven. This Holy Spirit would give them power to do the
things that He did and more. This Holy Spirit would be their comforter and guide.
Through the spirit Jesus would be with them forever. Chapter five is titled
Demonstration . In this chapter Jesus shows the disciples how to live. Not just
communion with the spirit, but show them that they needed to know how the
experience was to be maintained and shared, if it was to be perpetrated in

give them strength. This was not forced upon them, they ask the Master what he
was doing and he explained it to them. He also explained to them that the Holy
Spirit had to be used for personal devotion and winning others. Jesus taught the

of us that are led to train others should be prepared to have them follow us as we

Pollution is another major factor that is threatening our world today. One example
of pollution is nitrogen. Humans are adding about 130 to 150 million tons over
the 90 to 150 tons that are produced by the nitrogen cycle. This excess in nitrogen

I can pinpoint my decision to pursue a career in archeology to a single day. I was
touring the old city of Quebec in the summer of 2012 and happened upon an
archeological dig site that was being opened to the public. It contained the
foundations of some of the first houses built by the French when they settled in

I originally became interested in Dutch history after studying tulip mania in an
Advanced Placement economics class. Tulip mania was a period in the Dutch Golden

A Sorrowful Woman The story that is A Sorrowful Woman seems to be a story told
from the point of view of a narrator who focuses only slightly on the inner conflict
of one of the main charters in the story. The character of which I am speaking is
never referred to by name, instead is called she, the woman, mommy, and wife
throughout the entire story which lends credence to the conclusionof the viewpoint as
being told from the outside. The first indication that the focus of the story will be
not of a warm and loving nature is the line The sight of them made her so sad and
sick she did not want to see them again (1). This is where a hypothesis can begin to
be formed as to who the antagonist of the story is, bearing the statement above in...
Then in the next line there is no mention of the woman speaking to the child or
acknowledging that the child ever spoke to her. The purposeful shunning of the
child by the woman is appalling and baffling at the same time. The child in the
story is an innocent, wanting to please and gain acknowledgement and love from
the very woman that is sickened by the very sight of the child. The mysterious
reasons for the shunning of the child can be guessed at in committee, but without
more history as to reasoning: the idea of the woman seeing the child as the one
reason for her illness is the most conclusive idea to be had. A supporting clause for
the woman being ever more resentful of the child is the description given when
during the course of play, the woman is scratched enough to draw a small bead or
two of blood, One of his sharp little claws ripped her flesh, just above the wrist... a

Starting this assignment, I do no feel overwhelming emotion to see my birth
