6. POVERTY IN PAKISTAN
In Pakistan, 24.3% of the population lives below the national poverty line in 2015.
In Pakistan, the proportion of employed population below $1.90 purchasing power parity a
day in 2019 is 1.3%. For every 1,000 babies born in Pakistan in 2019, 67 die before their 5th
birthday.

She said some 1.8 million Pakistanis had learning disabilities, of which 0.5 million lived in
urban and 1.3 million in rural areas. People in rural areas generally had superstitious beliefs
about the causes of learning disabilities. “Also, there are no learning facilities in rural

Pakistan By Population). In FATA, the literacy rate is deplorable constituting 29.5% in males
and 3% in females.

Women are considered as another half of man but they are not half they are the one who need
equal rights and opportunities which man relishes. Women must be valued as they contribute
equally in society (Ahmed, 2009). Women holds the almost 50% of the population of
Pakistan(Sharif, Nosheen, & Idrees, 2012), still Pakistani society is considered male dominant
society which defines that men embrace power in all important institutions of society” and
“women are deprived of having access to such designations”(Sultana, 2012).

Agriculture is a vital sector of Pakistan’s economy and accounted for 25.9 percent of GDP in
1999-2000 according to government estimates.
Illiteracy in the problem when the people are unable to understand new policies in
agriculture which give poor yield per acre.
Illiteracy people are mostly familiar with old mothers of cultivation and feel hesitation in
adopting the new ones.
