Detroit has a strong interest in innovation due to its large medical centers, academic partners, supply chain partners, and transitioning economy. The Henry Ford Health System has launched several programs to promote innovation including the Henry Ford Innovations Initiative to provide resources and infrastructure for innovators, a technology management team to handle patents and licensing, partnerships with other organizations, dedicated partnerships with corporations, and a product development fund to support validation and new companies. The Henry Ford Innovations Initiative in particular aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through various educational and engineering services.
