2. New IKF Educational Program.
IKF presents the different grades of coach formation structured
in a new educational program. By following the European Educational
Framework, which establishes 8 levels of education, new structure will be
starting with 4 levels addressed to all expected targeted audiences in
order aspirants have the opportunity to become coaches and DEC
instructors.
The content of our courses will be developed following the
guidelines of Ben Crum’s vision. After support to his book “The IKF guide
to korfball coaching” is our intention to encourage the learning process
from all coaches around the world by adapting his words and concepts in
our courses.
At the same time we offer this program to national
organizations, as an advice to build up their own educational program.
Our coaching structure is presented as a compilation of intensive courses,
including all the specifics subjects from the korfball game plus the generic
subjects related to all team sports that any coach should know.

3. Who is able to attend?
The following proposal is targeted to athletes and sportiest who
wish to acquire qualified managerial and coach training, focused on arriving
to the highest level of coaching through the active performance of leading
teams and constant instruction through IKF courses.
What are our aims?
• Homogenize the content from IKF different coaching levels by
adapting Ben Crum’s theory
.
• Feed national organizations with content to be developed on their
own courses, by using IKF’s program and/or instructors.
• Feed athletes and coaches who want to receive IKF formation and
obtain and official international diploma.
• Recruit coaches through courses and create a database for
development activities. Coaches will be able to become DEC
instructors as well in the future.

4. Coaching Structure and target groups:
The proposal for the formation of coaches will be structured
following the European Educational Framework which contains eight
reference levels. Our educational program starts with four different levels
describing what the learner receives with every formation course:

6. What is our plan?
• IKF wants to provide national organizations with three first levels of
coaching to feed their own structure of coaching levels; our goal
shouldn’t be to substitute rather than implement the coaching
structure every country should develop.
• IKF pretends to raise level of performance of teams at international
competition. With support from KNKV “TOP 6 Program” we want to
achieve a higher standard of coaching and management level, by
offering IKF Level IV “High Performance Coach” course, in order to
improve the background of coaches to perform in international
competition.
• IKF wants to support the building up of an educational program and
a database for coaches together with every national organization:
coaches will be able to obtain also IKF Diploma after attending their
national coach course as well. Therefore we are keen to agree
compensations of subjects with the national organization’s
educational program to obtain IKF Diploma’s as well.

puts the focus in running the program of “Level IV. High Performance
Coach” course.

9. Program and Target group of applicants:
This course is addressed to applicants with already some
coaching experience, in order to learn about the skills required to
conduct korfball teams at the highest level of performance. For that
purpose there will be special attention to applications from participants
with the following profile:
• Currently in position of head coach or technical director at the
national organization or/and coach of senior, U23/U21 or U19
national team.
• Current coaches at domestic competition highest Division in
countries ranked A,B with special interest in performing at
international level.
• Players from national team with accredited experience, who would
like to participate in the coaching staff of national teams.

10. Table of contents:
The program will contain a total amount of 300 hours divided in
2 different stages:
A. “High Performance Course” learning program: 150 h. lectures
developed from August to December 2013, where applicants
should attend two central meetings.
B. “High Performance Course” training program: where aspirant
must certified their hours of coaching experience to be up 150 h.
considering their active coaching followed by a tutor.
This educational program will include formation addressed to
support both Generic subjects shared in all team sports and Specific
subjects about the coaching of korfball contained in the course. Those will
be addressed to know the theory and practice of the training
methodologies for korfball teams , contained in “The IKF Guide to
Korfball Coaching” ( B.Crum 2012).

11. By the end of this “High
Performance Coach”

12. How we train you? The learning program stage.
The learning program of the course will be structured in a
periodization of 4 months: August to December 2013. During this period
different instructions will be contained: from clinics conducted by Ben Crum
and other top korfball coaches in the starting and final stage, to On-line
lessons through the educational platform (including tests, video analyses and
webinars with coaches/tutors, etc. ).

Stage 1. Introduction to course and clinics in The
Netherlands. Arrival: 27th August/Departure: 1st September. 40 h.*
Where: KNKV headquarters (Zeist).
Stage 2. On-line educational Platform.
85 h.
Period: September to December ( 15 weeks of lectures).
Stage 3. Challenge Tournament in Rotterdam (The Netherlands)*.
Arrival: Thursday 26th /departure: Sunday 29th December . 25 h.*
Where: Korfball Challenge Rotterdam.
TOTAL 150 h.
*attendance will be compulsory to 80% of the lessons.

13. How we train you? The training program stage.
After the learning stage, aspirants must certified their hours of
coaching experience to be up 150 h. with the advice of a tutor appointed by
the HPC. This period will accredit the certification of hours of practice after
performing actively as a coach leading a team whether participating in any of
these competitions/events:
• In domestic competition: 2 full seasons as a coach at clubs
competition highest Division in countries ranked A,B;
• At International events within 2 championships from the list:
Seniors IKF WKC 2015 or IKF EKC 2014;
IKF U23 WKC 2016 or IKF U21 EKC 2014.
U19 KWC.
The committee of the “Educational Program HPC” will apply a tutor
to each one of the participants in the course that will follow the activities of
the coach in the next two years after the realization of the course. The
coaches participating can apply for the certification of the hours within the
domestic competition and/or at international events participation.

14. Enrolment process:
Candidates to enroll have to apply before 10th April 2013 by
sending the official application after considering following details:
1. Certification of their national korfball organization of the coach
experience at senior level (higher division league teams);
2. Certification of current position at national teams level at U19,
U21/U23 or Senior;
3. A passport photo;
4. A copy of ID or passport;
5. Fill in the personal information document.
Application letters to attend the course should be sent to
albert.vidanya@ikf.org
National organizations participating in the TOP 6 Program
are expected to appoint at least a number of 2 coaches according to
conditions mentioned.

15. Entrance fee and Scholarships:
Application to “Level IV HPC” course is free by sending data
required and/or motivational letter. Furthermore, through sponsorship from
KNKV, TOP 6 Program will provide scholarships to applications containing
points 1 and 2 from registration process. After the enrolment period, there
will be a process of confirmation of participation through entrance fee or
scholarship. Confirmation of participation will be communicated before 30th
April according to the following points:
• A maximum number of 15 scholarships will be distributed after
receiving all applications.
Enrollment conditions allow participants to receive:
- Half board accommodation in three stars hotel conditions during
central meetings in The Netherlands*: August 2013 ( 27th August-
1st September: 5 nights accommodation) and December 2013 (
26th – 29th December:3 nights accommodation ).
- Access to on-line platform to follow the program during 15 weeks of
Stage 2 ( September - December 2013).
- Tutorial process with instructor during the training stage starting
January 2013.
