• Drafted New AA Constitution and By-Laws which were passed with
overwhelming majority (610:46) by the general body. New constitution is more
inclusive and clarifies various procedures, roles, and responsibilities
• Formed chapter accreditation guidelines
• Formed CARE (Community and Alumni Relief in Emergency) and HOPE (Helping
Other People Excel) fund guidelines to help community and alumni in need.
• Was on the Steering Committee of Alumni Convention in Delhi and instrumental
in getting RBI Governor to be chief guest
• Helped AA organize Photography Competition which will lead to publication of a
Coffee Table book and raise funds for AA for community service projects
• Started Chandigarh Chapter of AA and got it registered
• Contributed to resolving IITK contract workers safety at workplace issue -- No
worker has died on workplace since 2013
• Represented IITK Alumni on PanIIT India Executive Committee. Worked tirelessly
as Co-Chair to democratize PIAI as opposed to keeping it in the control of the
Group of 59 alumni. Work is still in progress.

• Represented the SAIL Executives for over 10 years as Member, Vice-Chairman (2 years) and Chairman

• Represented CPSU employees in Pay and Perks revision and negotiation with various ministries
Service to Society/Community
• Science Popularization: Worked in various organisations for Science Popularization and
enhancement of creativity amongst students and rural and semi-urban population.
• Right to Education: Worked to improve the system of both School and Higher Education and
introduction of Common School System to be operated under Neighbourhood Schooling mode
• Welfare of Ex-SAIL Employees: Look after the welfare of the retirees such as financial assistance,
emergency needs and pension as well as healthcare schemes through SAIL Plant Hospitals and
Mediclaim Insurance Policy.

• Involved in IITK Golden Jubilee at Santa Clara, CA (Core Marketing Team) and
PanIIT 2013 at Houston, TX (Core Out-Reach Team)

• Initiated contact with Google in providing iitkalumni.org e-mail address to ALL alumni.
• Assisted in the development of Election Portal with the AlmaShines team. It is being
used in the current elections.
• Assisted with the implementation of CARE & HOPE funds for the AA
• Launched Jamshedpur Chapter of AA and was its secretary. Raised funds for local zoo.
• Initiated groundwork to launch of Gujarat Chapter of AA
• Assisted in the Alumni Convention held in Delhi as a member of its steering committee.
• Assisted in the placement of 950 students of the class of 2011. Led a team of 82
members and 100+ volunteer which resulted in PG recruitment increase from 62% to
85%
• Batch coordinator for 2011 batch: Introduced an online social portal called Yearbook,
and initiated a pledge drive to donate 1% of their salary to alma mater. Spearheaded
‘Nostalgia – Farewell to the 2011 Passing batch’
