 Speaking test 3 SECTIONS which takes 11-14 minutes, the
test is 1;1 with an examiner.
 Scores and criteria in speaking test basing on;
 1.Fluency and coherence
 2.Grammatical range and accuracy
 3.Lexical resources or vocabularies
 4.Pronunciations
 Finally score is an average.
 Examiner will pick you up from the waiting room, take you to
the waiting room, and in there the voice recorder and the
timer will be started.
 You should read the introduction and then will be very quick
identify check.

 Then what happens?
The examiner will introduce themselves friendly like „hello my name is cliff‟
 Then they will ask these questions;
 „could you tell me your full name please?‟
 „what shall I call you?‟
 „can you tell me where you‟re from?‟
 „Can I please see your identification?‟
 This part is nit assessed at all, you just give just give short factual
answers
 Keep in mind „SHORT,FACTUAL ANSWERS‟
 In this part it goes for 4-5 minutes and you are going to
talk about three topics and within each topic you will
have
 4-5 minutes and a timer
 3-4 questions per topic
 3 topics
All the questions are simple, personal questions, the test
always begins with the;
-lets talk about….
-what you do…{work or study}
-where you live…
 The common topics here are;
 Sports, food, Television, family, mobile phones, fashion,
holidays, Animals Etc..
 Now you may extend your answers, here the examiner is trying
to rank you from zero to nine so if you give short answers the
examiner will fail or get hard times in ranking you between zero
and nine
 So you need to extend your answers, try to use some good
vocabularies, some different sentence structures
 For instance, you are asked;
 Where do you live?
 What can people do for fun there?
 Would you like to move to another place in future?
 You should aim for around 20 seconds per answer
 You will have the timer at the screen so you can watch that.

the cue card which will guide you on the
topics you are supposed to talk about
 -CUE CARD is a large
card that held out of the
audiences sight that has
words in large letters to
help the speaker or
an actor remember their
lines in television broadcasting.
