What is IEEE ???


  A non-profit organization, IEEE is the world's leading professional
  association for the advancement of technology.

  The IEEE name was originally an acronym for the Institute of Electrical
  and Electronics Engineers, Inc. Today, the organization's scope of
  interest has expanded into so many related fields, that it is simply
  referred to by the letters I-E-E-E (pronounced Eye-triple-E).

 Through its global membership, IEEE is a leading authority on many
 areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and
 telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and
 consumer electronics among others.
 Members rely on IEEE as a source of technical and professional
 information, resources and services.
 To foster an interest in the engineering profession, IEEE also serves
 student members in colleges and universities around the world.
 Other important constituencies include prospective members and
 organizations that purchase IEEE products and participate in
 conferences or other IEEE programs.

 IEEE Student Branches are established at over 1,500 universities and
 colleges throughout the world. Student Branch activities offer
 numerous educational, technical, and professional advantages of IEEE
 membership through special projects, activities, meetings, tours and
 field trips. Listed below are some programs and projects that keep
 students interested in the Branch and its activities and their chosen
 profession:

 Student Branch gives students the opportunity to meet and learn
 from fellow students, as well as faculty members and professionals in
 the field. An active IEEE Student Branch can be one of the most
 positive elements in a department offering programs in IEEE
 designated fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Information
 Technology.

  Helwan University has had a Student Branch registered to the IEEE
 for a long time. It was created at 1999. However, it had been dormant
 in the past few years, and in 2010 we have decided to revive it. The
 Student Branch Counselor is Dr. Abdel-Ghany Mohamed from
 Electrical power and Machines department.
Our Vision


 To be the best student branch in the world that recognized as the
 global platform to inspire, enable, develop and support students as
 the future leaders of their profession.
Our Mission


 Holding courses and sessions to decrease the gap between
 theoretical science and practical life.
 Holding technical workshops.
 Organizing field trips for students.
 Providing key speakers about the latest trends (Technical,
 Entrepreneurship and Soft skills).
 Participating in IEEE and worldwide competitions under the name of
 Helwan University.

 By Asga academy for 3rd and 4th year students to help them in
 determining their graduation project and how to support it .

 Event description: Embedded System: Four sessions about embedded
 system as a first step to expand the culture of embedded software in
 Egypt for 1st to 4th year Communications, Electrical and biomedical
