Strategic view on rosin supply - demand cycles and the impact on speculationPetrofer AG
In this paper, historic gum rosin price development will be discussed followed by the actual market situation and its price volatility vs. supply capacities and availability, whereas volatility will not decrease but rather further increase in the future. Following the market development and buying, one’s short term needs should avoid larger losses on speculation. The purchasing of raw material is a strategic act which has to be linked very closely with a consistent risk management, and risk management always has the target of avoiding losses.

Increasing Access to Safe Drinking Water - by SummerAmalia Giebitz
This document discusses the target of reducing by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. It identifies the main causes of unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation as climate change, pollution from agriculture and industry, population growth, and irrigation usage. The effects are increased poverty, disease, and water disputes. It also profiles the organization Global Water and their work providing water and sanitation in developing countries.
This appears to be song lyrics discussing a volatile relationship where one person's mood and feelings change frequently. Some key points mentioned are: how the person changes their mind and acts differently, comparing them to being bipolar or having PMS; they used to be in sync but now their energy levels are mismatched; and the speaker feels stuck in the ups and downs of the relationship like a rollercoaster ride. The chorus reiterates that the person is sometimes hot and cold in their behavior and emotions.
The document discusses the proper use of certain grammar forms including "another", "any", verbs like "appear", and prepositions like "round" and "about". It provides examples of how to use these words correctly in sentences and speaking tasks. Students are asked to form sentences using the vocabulary and apply the grammar concepts, like using "appear" to describe how someone seems and "round" to indicate circular movement.

This randomized clinical trial compared two post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) regimens for preventing HIV infection: tenofovir/emtricitabine plus ritonavir-boosted lopinavir versus tenofovir/emtricitabine plus raltegravir. The trial found that while overall PEP non-completion at 28 days was similar between the two regimens, the raltegravir-containing regimen had significantly fewer adverse events and better adherence. Specifically, the ritonavir-boosted lopinavir regimen was associated with higher rates of PEP non-completion, loss to follow up, and low adherence, as well as more reported adverse events.

For toddlers, it recommends using simple language and vocabulary they understand, speaking in complete sentences, allowing movement when possible, and giving them a sense of control. For preschoolers, it suggests getting down to their eye level, using short sentences, asking open-ended questions, and praising their efforts. For school-aged children, the techniques include explaining procedures in an age-appropriate manner, encouraging them to ask questions, and being honest but reassuring.
This document discusses coping with spinal cord injuries. It notes that spinal cord injuries cause major life changes and normal emotional responses like depression, anxiety, and anger. While responses are individual, negative assumptions about disability must be overcome. Stress and stress reactions to the injury are also normal, but can become unhealthy if the situation is not managed. The relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions is important, and it is crucial to take action by identifying stress sources, getting information, actively coping, thinking, planning, and getting support. With time, acceptance, and realistic thinking, people can learn to manage their disabilities and resume control over their lives.

Active listening aims to bring about positive changes in people by creating a supportive environment where they feel heard, understood, and able to openly express themselves without fear of judgment or criticism. It involves listening to both the content and underlying feelings of what is said, acknowledging all verbal and nonverbal cues, and reflecting back the speaker's message to confirm understanding without evaluating or advising. By demonstrating genuine interest and respect through attentive listening, the listener conveys acceptance and builds trust, allowing the speaker to gain insight and a more realistic view of themselves. When used consistently, active listening can improve communication, reduce defensiveness and conflict, and have a constructive impact on attitudes within interpersonal and organizational relationships.
The document discusses challenging behavior in individuals with learning disabilities. It explains that challenging behavior often stems from an inability to communicate wants and needs effectively. It may serve as a way for those with learning disabilities to exert control over their environment. While there is no single cure, medical causes should be ruled out and functional assessments conducted to understand the reasons for behavior. Caregivers should develop communication skills, provide choice, and get support from professionals to help reduce challenging incidents. Proper support involves meeting individual needs through flexible, personalized services and developing genuine partnerships between those receiving support and caregivers.
Counselling as a method to understand your employeesJayadeva de Silva
Counseling can be used as a method to understand employees better. It allows people to discharge emotions in a healthy way rather than repressing feelings. When distressed, people need to talk through their issues with a good listener in order to re-evaluate the situation and think clearly again. Counseling helps contradict unhelpful patterns developed in childhood that prevent optimal functioning. For managers, counseling provides a developmental tool to address why talented people act less intelligently at times and to distinguish people from problematic patterns. It also explains why listening is so important and creates a safer environment for openness. Counseling should be introduced sensitively when enough trust and safety exist within an organization.
This document discusses vicarious trauma experienced by helping professionals who work with individuals who have experienced trauma. It defines terms like vicarious trauma, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. It describes symptoms like nightmares, intrusive thoughts, and emotional/physical exhaustion. Risk factors include one's own trauma history. Activities are presented to help participants become more self-aware of how trauma is held in their bodies and to learn tools to process trauma, like mindful breathing and using a mental "empty container." The importance of self-care and transitioning from work to home is also discussed.

The document discusses the therapeutic benefits of engaging in meaningful activities and occupations. It provides perspectives from service users on how activities can help develop skills, provide structure, increase self-worth and motivation, and facilitate social connections and self-expression. Activities are most beneficial when well-suited to an individual's needs, abilities, and cultural and life stage factors. Boredom should be addressed by ensuring access to engaging activities matched to a person's skills.

Hsc45 (h) interpersonal communication
Poor communication continues to beone of the major causes of complaints
in the work environment. Interpersonal
skills are sometime referred to as people
skills because they are the skills used to
interact with others. Communication may
simply be the exchange of information
between sender and receiver without the
above considerations. Both forms of com-
munication consist of two components: the
spoken word (verbal), and non-verbal sig-
nals e.g., body language, and eye contact.
Communication and interpersonal
skills are frequently used interchangeably.
Interpersonal skills are differ to 'communica-
tion' because the emphasis is on self-aware-
ness, attentive listening, sensitivity to the
feelings of others and observing reactions.
This article will discuss aspects of inter-
personal communication and ways to facili-
tate appraisal of your own strengths and
weaknesses. There is great value to regu-
larly reviewing the way you connect with
colleagues and clients.
Effective team work
All teams will be influenced by different
personal philosophies. This in turn will be
reflected in their style of communication.
Paying attention to how members of staff
communicate with one another, as well
as patients and residents, is key to achiev-
ing the desired outcome of high quality
effective care. As well as achieving high
quality care, effective tise of interpersonal
skills, has the potential to reduce conflict
in the work environment, reduce sickness
antl absence' rates, and lili niotixalion.
Staff absences from work will negatively
impact on availability of resources in your
home. By enhancing the environment at
work there is the potential to not only
improve care delivery, but to reduce costs
as well. Sheehan et al (2007) demonstrated
that patient satisfaction increased when
communication betu'een team members is
strong. Without these interpersonal skills to
accompany understanding and respect, high
quality care is difficult to achieve.
Self awareness
One key aspect is the development of self-
awareness. Burnard (2005) highlightetl tlie
importance of being self-aware explaining
that without it our view of others can be
distorted. We may wn^ngly believe that u e
share the share the same beliefs, values and
attitudes our group. Yet, although we will
may hold similar professional views to our
colleagues, as indivitkials oLir foundations

Kentoya:
I think out of the three, resistance would be the most difficult to overcome with a client. I think resistance would be most difficult because its hard to help someone that is resisting your assistance to help them become a better person. In this profession we are here to help, its our job but when you get someone who declines your help it can make us feel like we haven't completed our job. We must remember its nothing personal we just must learn to manage resistance.
The helping professional falls victim to these issues as well by not being as understanding and respectful of their clients beliefs and issues. The helping professional needs to be capable of insight, understanding and compassion without losing boundaries, to be exceptionally reliable , trustworthy, and discreet, able to put her/his own interests and concerns aside in the presence of clients (patients, parishioners) and at bottom have some affection for one's fellow human beings. We can not be judgmental at all of others and we must put our differences aside.
I must say dependency is more likely than another because when someone depends on you, you never want to let them down. As a teacher I could be sick but I still try to push my way through the day to attend work because i know my students come in the door each morning prepared to see me. I know they depend on me and their parents as well. So I try my best not to let them down.
Monica:
This week we were asked what would be the most difficult to deal with between vulnerability,
dependence and resistance with out clients. As I was thinking more about this, I have chosen to think that dependency is going to be the most challenging thing for me. The way we look at dependency is that our clients are dependent on us and it can cause some pain or miserable feelings because they are having to depend on someone else.
While we are working with our clients, we are able to fall victim because our clients can take advantage of us and get more assistance than they truly are needing. While we are showing compassion that doesn’t mean that our clients can take advantage of us and get everything handed to them. We need to show them how to stand up for what they want and giving them the proper tools to achieve what they are wanting.
Tonya:
What avenues do you feel would be useful techniques for managing the stress that accompanies the Helping Profession?
Stress come with any job, but when you wok in a helping profession, the problems and issues from others can consume you. Learning to not take things personal and not take the problems home that others present to you through their sessions. Keep things with your client professional and always remember that their problems are clear to them even if you can't relate to them or understand them. Each day you will.

Chapter 2
ACT’s Six Core Processes
A number of things make ACT unique among therapies and approaches. One of ACT’s differences stands out:
It is based on a scientific program that does not simply theorize what helps; rather, each component of
ACT is analyzed and presented separately to explicitly detail how it helps people live a richer, more vital
life. ACT is composed of six such components that we refer to as the six core processes. Each of the processes is
individual but not mutually exclusive. This means that each one of the processes works with the others. When
combined, the six core processes form a circular model that represents psychological flexibility.
The six core processes of ACT can be viewed separately and defined individually. In this chapter, we look at
each process in detail, which will be helpful to you in learning ACT as you will see how each process makes
ACT work. Furthermore, each process is individually mediated to be a valid mechanism of change. That means
if you successfully focus on any one of these processes in your clinical work, you should see an improvement in
psychological flexibility. This last term, psychological flexibility, represents the whole ACT model of health.
All six processes seek to increase psychological flexibility or coming in full contact with painful experiences
and with uniquely chosen values, while consciously choosing the actions to engage in a meaningful life.
Notice from this description that psychological flexibility does not prescribe one’s attempts to escape or avoid
painful experiences but instead invites experiencing them. To work with our pain where painful experiences
do not exclusively govern our behavior. That is what ACT’s six processes are about. The six processes include
acceptance, defusion, present moment, self-as-context, values, and commitment.
ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance is practicing openness to private events (thoughts, feelings, sensations, memories). We often focus
on our clients’ most difficult private events (e.g., anxiety, sadness, physical pain, etc.) as targets for therapy.
In ACT, individuals are encouraged to be accepting of their experience, rather than avoiding private events
such as anxiety, sadness, or physical pain. Because the term acceptance can have different meanings to others,
it is important to note that in ACT, acceptance means a willingness to come into contact with a person’s
whole experience, including the unpleasant internal stuff that shows up. Acceptance is not liking or wanting
these experiences, is not begrudgingly or angrily saying they exist, and is not giving up and not doing anything;
rather we encourage a willingness to notice those difficult private events, to allow them to be there as part of
your experience.
Now, because unpleasant private events can be painful, we do not encourage this contact with private
experiences without a function. The function of acceptance is to further the goal of working toward.

Colleague 1: Christine
There are many ways play therapy can benefit children and in this case 6 year old Claudia. As children experience trauma service providers may also have difficulty with young children and self disclosure. Here is the list that I came up with after reviewing this discussion resources in relation to how this approach can benefit:
1) Creating a safe space to explore with safety can hold children accountable for responsible behaviors while developing successful insight to harness positive strategies to cope.
2) Children can also benefit as they learn new solutions toward dealing with issues while learning skills to express new and old emotion.
3) There can be a gained awareness to self; understanding thoughts and emotions.
4) Children can learn new social skills as they work with their provider and how to relate to self through creativity. Also, gaining communication skills as they use various forms of play therapy.
5) Children may also develop an awareness toward new and old abilities using a strength-based approach toward therapy.
Another form of play therapy that I am fond of while working with children is storytelling. It isn't for all children specifically concentrating on those that feel comfortable opening up and speaking to others. Storytelling has been beneficial to me while working with children in the past as it has revealed fear and anxieties. Utilizing different platforms of storytelling, self disclosure can build various survival strategies in children as they explore different situations through actions, movements, and changes. (Chiesa, 2012, pp 5)
Overall I feel strongly play therapy in all forms whether it be art therapy, role playing, non-directive/directive play, can promote healing, through self expression of feelings. It can also encourage children to build creative ways to deal with current and future trauma, and allow the development of healthy decision-making.
