This lesson plan aims to teach students about issues faced by disabled and elderly people in daily life. Students will match keywords to definitions, apply those terms to understand elderly experiences, and analyze how disabilities, opportunities, and discrimination impact the elderly. Key concepts are disability, equal opportunities, and discrimination. The lesson involves a starter activity, mind maps, surveys, poster design, and a plenary discussion. Assessment includes a poster campaign and survey. The lesson relates to prior learning on diversity, community, and charity.
URI Faculty Development Workshop powerpoint for "Making Learning Visible" facilitated by Joshua Caulkins and Elaine Finan on Monday, August 25th, 2:30pm.

Participants will be guided in an activity followed by a group discussion. This webinar is for those who use rubrics, those who don't, and those who have never heard of a rubric.
How do you know you are reaching your English proficiency goals with your students?
