We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
1. Bring me the horizon
Can you feel my heart song meanings
2. The lyrics
Can you hear the silence?
Can you see the dark?
Can you fix the broken?
Can you feel... can you feel my
heart?
Can you help the hopeless?
Well, I'm begging on my knees,
Can you save my bastard soul?
Will you wait for me?
I'm sorry brothers,
So sorry lover,
Forgive me father,
I love you mother.
Can you hear the silence?
Can you see the dark?
Can you fix the broken?
Can you feel my heart? [3x]
I'm scared to get close and I hate
being alone.
I long for that feeling to not feel at
all.
The higher I get, the lower I'll sink.
I can't drown my demons, they
know how to swim.
Can you feel my heart?
Can you hear the silence?
Can you see the dark?
Can you fix the broken?
Can you feel... can you feel my
heart?
3. The meaning behind it
These are some quotes taken from the lead singer of Bring me the horizon Ollie Sykes
'Can You Feel My Heart' is all about admittance," Sykes continued, "admitting you have a problem,
and admitting something's wrong. That's the first step of the whole album. In my life, I had to admit
certain things to go further. They all deal with different topics.“
The song is about accepting a drug addiction, that the lead singer once had and over coming it
once and for all, after so many steps back.
The song also seems like an apology to his loved ones ‘Forgive me father, I love you mother’
4. Continued..
The song could also be interpreted as some sort of depression the singer may have
Can you hear the silence
He is so depressed he's drowning in his own thoughts and can't mentally hear
anything
Can you see the dark?
He's surrounded by darkness
Can you fix the broken?
He has become a broken person
Can you feel my heart?
It feels to him like his heart stopped beating
Can you help the hopeless? Well, I'm begging on my knees.
He feels hopeless because he can't get out of his downward spiral, and is begging
someone to help him
5. My ideas
Taking on board the idea of admittance and depression/drug abuse
I have decided to make a music video on these concepts, taking into
consideration the lyrics.
I'm sorry brothers, so sorry lover, forgive me father, I love you mother
He's asking for their forgiveness because he has done, or is about to do,
something terrible.
In this section of the song the main character within the video will be trying to
gain back their love, wanting their partner to stay with them, but they don’t want
to know, due to the addiction being so bad, so the character goes on a
downward spiral.
6. Continued..
I long for that feeling to not feel at all
He wants to stop feeling and forget about everything
At this point the character will be going crazy to show the effect of the
addiction, showing it to be a true problem and that they need help, which in
the end they do.
