Quantity Surveyor ?
A quantity surveyor (QS) is a professional working within
the construction industry concerned with construction costs and
contracts. They are the ECONOMIST in the construction indus-
try. As a quantity surveyor are responsible for the cost of any
building project from initial esti-
mates, right through to the final
acquisition of materials. Surveying
jobs and their associated roles are
varied but focused on providing
clients value for money while ad-
hering to the strict regulations
which govern every aspect of the
construction industry.

Sr Bernard Lo is the Director of his company, Pe-
runding KK Bina Sdn. Bhd and is
a Registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Quantity
Surveyors Malaysia as well as a Full Corporate Member of The Institution of Surveyors Malaysia.
He graduated from Robert Gordon Institute of Technology Aberdeen, U.K and during that
time as a student he worked as a trainee Quantity Surveyor at a company called GD Walfords (CQS)
Partners in London. After graduating in the year 1990, Sr Bernard Lo worked in one of the largest
construction cost consultancy practice in Malaysia which was Juru Ukur Bahan Malaysia as a Project
Executive/Quantity Surveyor from the year 1990 till 1994. He then worked as a Senior Quantity Sur-
veyor in PQS Setia Konsult until Dec 2005 and in the following year his partner and he made their
company Perunding KK Bina Sdn. Bhd.
Sr Bernard Lo has experience in the Property Development and Construction Industry for
over 25 years until to date. His responsibilities as a Director Quantity Surveyor in his company is to
directly involve and personally attend to government and private projects undertaken by the Firm
from Inception to Finalisation of Project Account.
