YNPN Chapter Congress Plan Plan - 11.2012ynpnnational
The document outlines plans for a YNPN National Congress to represent chapters at the national level. The Congress will be comprised of delegates from each chapter who will discuss issues, propose solutions, and vote on decisions relating to the network. Key topics of the Congress include funding, membership models, advocacy, and communication policies. Decisions will be made using centralized, coordinated, or decentralized approaches depending on the issue. The proposed timeline lays out deadlines to establish the Congress in early 2012.
The challenge is to build a comprehensive social marketing campaign centered around themes like “Green Travelling”, “Green Spaces”, and “Waste Management”, that can influence our society for its betterment. Remember that everything communicates, and that a successful campaign should address the five Ws and H of journalism. Think out of the box and at the same time ensure that your idea is economically viable. You are expected to develop a complete marketing communications strategy (using new media, social media as well as traditional channels of media) and budgeting plans. Support your communications strategy with samples of your ideas.

Finding The Voice of A Virtual Community of PracticeConnie White
Critical components for a successful Community of Practice (CoP) are that: 1) the community members have a space where their voice can be heard and that, (2) the proper technology is given to them to aid in this effort. We describe a Dynamic Delphi system under development which interprets the group’s voice in the creation of information during the initial start up phases when cultivating a CoP. Community members’ alternatives are explored, justified and debated over periods of time, and best reflect the group’s opinion at any moment in time where collective intelligence will be created from the interactions amongst group members. The system could handle a wide variety of types of decisions reflecting the diversity of goals given a CoP including emergency response actions, prediction markets, lobbying efforts, any sort of problem solving, making investment suggestions, etc. Pilot studies indicate that the group creates a greater number of better ideas. Ongoing studies are described, including applications to emergency management planning and response. They demonstrate that implementing a Dynamic Delphi system will prove conducive for building the initial repertoire of ideas, rules, policies or any other aspect of the community’s ‘voice’ that should be heard, in such a way that the individual voices are juxtaposed in harmony to create a single song.

The document discusses the history of sunglasses from ancient times to modern day, noting that early sunglasses were used in China and Rome to reduce glare but did not provide UV protection. It then outlines how sunglasses evolved in the early 20th century to become a popular fashion accessory, particularly among movie stars, and how mass production in the 1920s and development of polarized lenses in the 1930s further increased sunglasses usage in the United States.
Garlic has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It contains compounds like allicin that may help lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Garlic is also thought to have antimicrobial properties and may help strengthen the immune system. While research on garlic's health benefits is still ongoing, it is considered a healthy addition to meals and diets when consumed in moderation.

Ubuntu Code of Conduct Ubuntu is an African concep.docxmarilucorr
Ubuntu Code of Conduct
Ubuntu is an African concept of 'humanity towards others'. It is the 'belief in a universal
bond of sharing that connects all humanity'. The same ideas are central to the way the
Ubuntu community collaborates. Members of the Ubuntu community need to work
together effectively, and this code of conduct lays down the ground rules for our
cooperation. We chose the name Ubuntu for our operating system because we think it
captures perfectly the spirit of the sharing and cooperation that is at the heart of the open-
source movement. In the free software world, we collaborate freely on a volunteer basis
to build software for everyone's benefit. We improve on the work of others, which we
have been given freely, and then share our improvements on the same basis. That
collaboration depends on good relationships between developers. To this end, we've
agreed on the following code of conduct to help define the ways that we think
collaboration and cooperation should work. If you wish to sign the code of conduct, you
can sign the canonical copy online This code of conduct covers our behaviour as
members of the Ubuntu Community, in any forum, mailing list, wiki, website, Internet
relay chat (IRC) channel, install-fest, public meeting or private correspondence. Ubuntu
governance bodies are ultimately accountable to the Ubuntu Community Council and will
arbitrate in any dispute over the conduct of a member of the community.
• Be considerate. Our work will be used by other people, and we in turn will
depend on the work of others. Any decision we take will affect users and
colleagues, and we should take those consequences into account when making
decisions. Ubuntu has millions of users and thousands of contributors. Even if it's
not obvious at the time, our contributions to Ubuntu will impact the work of
others. For example, changes to code, infrastructure, policy, documentation and
translations during a release may negatively impact others' work.
• Be respectful. The Ubuntu community and its members treat one another with
respect. Everyone can make a valuable contribution to Ubuntu. We may not
always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor
manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot
allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that
a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive
one. We expect members of the Ubuntu community to be respectful when dealing
with other contributors as well as with people outside the Ubuntu project and with
users of Ubuntu.
• Be collaborative. Collaboration is central to Ubuntu and to the larger free
software community. We encourage individuals and teams to work together
whether inside or outside the Ubuntu Project. This collaboration reduces
redundancy, and improves the quality of our work. Internally and externally, we
should always be op ...
The document discusses different forms of group communication used in organizations. It describes meetings, seminars, group discussions, and other forms where members communicate to share information, make decisions, solve problems, and discuss topics. It provides details on techniques like brainstorming, nominal group technique, and Delphi technique that organizations use for group decision making. It also explains how group discussions are an important part of selection processes to evaluate candidates' skills, knowledge, and ability to work in a team.
Strategic planning should be an opportunity for the whole organization to learn from itself (and others) about its choices, to develop a stronger consensus, and to cultivate increased engagement among its various stakeholders. However, it is often left in the hands of a small group of senior managers. How can you involve more of the organization, effectively and efficiently, in creating or revising your plans?
The starting point for engagement is a carefully designed strategic planning retreat. There are various choices you can make in preparing for an effective retreat. These choices can be implemented using various structural tools so that the meeting is productive and contributes to a strategic planning process that yields plans that all understand and are aligned to implement. Rick and Sam will share examples and tools for working on strategic planning with groups from 12 to 200 in size.
Haiti has struggled with various infectious diseases that have negatively impacted public health. Diseases like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria are prevalent due to lack of access to healthcare and sanitation issues. Political instability and poverty have exacerbated Haiti's health crises by limiting resources for treatment and prevention of infectious illnesses.

IGF 2016 Workshop #153 Let's break down silosWout de Natris
- The workshop brought together organizations working in cybersecurity and cybercrime to discuss best practices for cooperation. Key factors for successful cooperation included having a shared challenge to address, building trust between individuals over multiple meetings, establishing transparency and commitment to a common goal.
- Participants described how neutral venues, establishing shared expectations, and voluntary cooperation were important. Government assistance can help initially but regulation should be a last resort.
- Moving forward, the IGF could help distribute these lessons and bring more stakeholders together. Further discussion could strengthen understanding and cooperation between organizations.
This document discusses various options for organizing and funding the creation and long-term maintenance of markup vocabularies. It notes that vocabularies can be built from scratch, adopted from existing projects, or developed through partnerships. Maintaining vocabularies long-term requires addressing changing technologies, dependencies, use cases, and expectations. The document reviews several funding models including membership fees, donors, support from implementers and developers, and government grants. It emphasizes that long-term commitment and love for the standard are more important than funding alone.

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

leewayhertz.com-AI in predictive maintenance Use cases technologies benefits ...alexjohnson7307
Predictive maintenance is a proactive approach that anticipates equipment failures before they happen. At the forefront of this innovative strategy is Artificial Intelligence (AI), which brings unprecedented precision and efficiency. AI in predictive maintenance is transforming industries by reducing downtime, minimizing costs, and enhancing productivity.
In the realm of cybersecurity, offensive security practices act as a critical shield. By simulating real-world attacks in a controlled environment, these techniques expose vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This proactive approach allows manufacturers to identify and fix weaknesses, significantly enhancing system security.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).
