People love the notion of the sole innovator, but this notion is wrong. Successful companies are usually started, and become successful, with the contributions of at least two people. Yin and yang, maker and seller, dreamer and pragmatist — call it what you will. After the fact, people may recognize one founder as the innovator, but it takes a team to make a new venture work.
Derek Sivers, the co-founder of CD Baby, said it best: “The first follower is what transforms the lone nut into a leader.”
In some instances the first follower is the first customer, but most often the first follower is the second employee of a company — that is, the co-founder.
There are few factors that can make a company more successful, fun, and epic than an awesome co-founder. There are few factors that can make a company more unsuccessful, aggravating, and pathetic than an incompetent, lazy, or dishonest co-founder.
This SlideShare explains the art of the picking a co-founder and is part of the LinkedIn Influencer series for #mystartupstory.

Easy access to cheap resources has flooded our information space with low quality marketing content. This is not necessarily a bad thing because it offers you the opportunity to stand out from the noise. People crave quality content. Give it to them.

This is what separates the closers from the losers, and the big producer from the average producer. To continue to ask, persist, to figure out another way to circle back after being told no, reposition and ask again is ultimately what will make you a great closer.

As part of our work at SME Centre @ SMCCI, I delivered this workshop with the hope that our SMEs can begin discovering the exciting possibilities that Branding can bring to their businesses.
Build your brand on the job - Workfront LEAP 2016Terri Trespicio
Branding isn’t just for startups and entrepreneurs; it’s for the full-time employee, too. Find out how and why to hone your brand within an organization regardless of your role or industry. Discover how defining your brand will allow you to become more engaged, deliver greater value, and set yourself up for long-term professional growth.
Building true confidence is a gradual process. No one is going to turn into a positive, self-confident person overnight. Here is a powerful process to help guide you to take command of the life you deserve.
What is personal branding, why does it matter (specifically for young professionals), and how do you even begin to discover your own, let alone maintain one?! We take our stab at answering these questions and more.
We are the First representatives of our brands, our brands are an extension of our personality and as the brand driver our decisions concerning life has to be intentional.
I was lucky to be young mother and work all the way. My daughter always kept me grounded on what’s important, a supportive husband has kept me stable and supported me throughout. I have always had a home to come back and recharge. I have suffered stress and politics and deception as any other natural leader, but I have seen success, growth and rewards. So life balances up when you have a strong core in your personal life and when you have the vision to see what is next, a purpose, if not nothing makes sense. Always look for a goal, for a dream, for a passion and they will give you the strength to continue.
When I put a call out for article topics I received a lot of requests for beginner’s marketing information. Really, sharing thoughts on marketing your business is good for all of us. It’s something we can always use a refresher on.
An insight to giving a damn and why giving a damn is good for you and your business.
Having an attitude like that helps people to be happier in the office, which makes them more excited about work and therefore more likely to stay with the company for a longer period of time. There are all sorts of ways to do that. Let this presentation tell you more.
1. "I'm not even who I am yet."

Molding yourself into the queen you are. Creating your brand and owning it. When creating a
brand you must understand the product/event, know the purpose of the product/event, and
present it with much dignity.
Understanding yourself. To understand is to be sympathetically or knowledgeably aware of the
character or nature of that person, event, or product. Simply put, when becoming the queen that
you want to be you should know yourself. Take some time out of your life to REFLECT. Most
people find themselves hiding from the “reflecting” step because they don’t want to confront
their issues. But the advantage of facing these issues is being able ANALYZE what really
happened that made you feel lesser as a person. Once discovering what that issue is, you can
conquer it and grow from it. Comparatively, branding and event/ product takes understanding.
If you don’t understand how the product works or how the event will benefit people or entertain
people than your brand will fall flat. The next step is to know your purpose. One of the biggest
factors of this step is God. Finding your purpose is one of the most important things when
becoming the queen that you are. God gives everyone a gift of some sort. It can either be
something with the arts or the gift to speak. Maybe even the gift to negotiate and be a good
business woman. Either way it goes, God has given you a gift and within this step you must find
it. One of the best things a woman can do to help the foundation of Her is to create a mission
statement for her life. Every business has a mission statement that summarizes the aims and
values of that company. So you might as well have one too since you are becoming your own
queen and making a brand. When doing your mission statement follow these steps:
1. Take out a few sheets of paper and a pen.
2. Find a place of peace and quiet, some sort of personal sanctuary for yourself.
3. Write the answers to each question down. Write the first thing that pops into your
head. Do not edit anything be real and truthful.
4. Write quickly. Give yourself less than 60 seconds to answer the question.
5. Enjoy the moment. Here are the questions:
What makes you smile?
2. What are your favorite things to do in the past?
What about now?
What activities make you lose track of time?
What makes you feel great about yourself?
Who inspires you?
Which qualities inspire you within that person?
What do people typically ask you for help in?
What are your deepest values?
How could you use your talents, gifts, passions to help the world?
List actions word you connect with.
List everything and everyone that you believe you can help.
Identify your end goal.
Combine the last three bullets into a sentence, or 7-6 sentences.
Once you have done this and created your
mission statement, you have completed the
second step. Once having a mission
statement this gives you something to always
reference to when you feel lost or feel like
you don't have any purpose because you do.
Mission statements also help with branding
any organization/event by having an
obligation to follow.
The last step to becoming your own queen is
presentation. The best thing about
presentation with people and events is that
everybody has a different vision and style.
When presenting yourself as a queen, make
sure you obtain dignity, respect, and flare. By projecting these qualities, you presence will be
one that is remembered and always will inspire. By building this brand for both events and
yourself, you will become known, not for ego, not for materialistic things, but
for GROWING into the queen that you are.
Being queens growing together, shining together, this bond holds only as SISTERS. It's such a
great feeling to know that you are a queen and that you are worth more than all the gold that
your queendom holds. From being paupers to queens we have left the rags and are earning our
riches as RADIANT, INVINCIBLE, CHARMING, and HUMBLESISTERS.
Remember, you're not even who you are yet.
