(1) This document presents a new hybrid wind/solar energy system configuration that allows the two sources to supply the load separately or simultaneously depending on availability. (2) Individual wind and solar energy have intermittent and unreliable output, but combining the two sources into a hybrid system and using maximum power point tracking improves efficiency and reliability. (3) The hybrid system uses an MPPT algorithm to maximize power transfer from both the wind and solar sources and provides a more consistent supply to meet load demands.
