Andalusia is an autonomous community in southern Spain composed of 8 provinces. Its capital is Seville and the Superior Court of Justice is located in Granada. The historic center of Velez-Malaga is a designated historic-artistic site. Architect Trinidad Cuartara was responsible for expanding the city of Almeria beyond its old Arab walls in the 19th century. The first natural park in Andalusia, Cabo de Gata, was created in 1987 to conserve natural ecosystems.
