In 1942, the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) was established as a state financial institution. Then known as the "State Bank of Ethiopia," it took on the functions of both a commercial and a central bank. It had 21 branches, and it introduced savings and new currency. In 1963, the bank changed its name to the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and was given solely the responsibilities of a commercial bank. For the past 80 years, CBE has been a well-known bank in Ethiopia and a vital source of funding for the country's development initiatives.
CBE is a pioneering bank in introducing modern banking services and it is surveyor of banking development in Ethiopia. It is also the first bank to introduce Western Union Money Transfer Services in the country, and currently working with more than twenty money transfer agents.
CBE is a reputable and largest commercial bank in Ethiopia and significantly contributes to the country's development by utilizing advanced technologies and systems for modern banking services targeting various sectors. It serves individual depositors, micro, small and medium-sized businesses, and private and public investment projects, significantly impacting the country's economy mobilizing savings for investment.
CBE’s credit distribution history primarily has catered to large corporate and public customers, with lower shares of MSMEs and individual customers. Due to this, it has decided to improve the credit facilities provided to MSMEs and individual customers, which might help alleviate their financial constraints. To strengthen this, it has adopted a new business model which called as “Customer Centric”, to provide customer tailored banking services. Currently, it has products and services designed to address the demands of all segments of societies in a better way.

Using Renewable Energy Essays
With a growing population around the world, the need for more energy increases as well. We are accustomed to using fossil fuels as our central source of energy for everyday exploiting. Fossil fuels are a natural matter that is found in the ground of the Earth that is formed in a previous time period millions of years ago and are nonrenewable. Fossil fuels are burned in order to fabricate energy. When nonrenewable resources have been used, they cannot restock themselves or be used again. Renewable energy is a supply of energy that can be used as many times necessary and does not necessitate a compound made from the Earth. There are several different types of fossil fuels and renewable energy that we use for energy sources today....show more content...for ships. Soon after, the windmill is invented. At the beginning of the 1900 s, hydroelectric power for electricity is introduced. Meanwhile, renewable energy is essentially forgotten until the late 1900 s because other sources of energy by using fossil fuels are booming. Renewable energy becomes a topic of interest again in the 1970 s when there is a gas shortage because of the tapering production of oil from the Middle East. Although, people begin to realize soon after this that fossil fuels can t last ceaselessly and that a new source of energy needs to be established (Hoyle).
One of the paramount benefits of using renewable energy rather than fossil fuels is that it s much cleaner. There are no toxins and pollutants pushed into the air by burning like there are when using fossil fuels. Producing energy with clean air makes renewable energy more competent to the environment and to people for pr

Glory Movie Accuracy
The movie, Glory was an exceptional movie depicting the bloody American Civil War and the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. Many famous actors starred in the movie, while Broderick portrayed Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, Washington and Freeman portrayed African American infantrymen in the 54th Massachusetts Infantry. The movie presents many historically accurate events, however some parts are flawed and completely false. Especially throughout this report, I will constantly discuss how Robert Gould Shaw was falsely portrayed and the extent of doing so is just to prove a point how wrong the movie is about the Union colonel. Even scenes were swept completely off the movie, though they might have had an important role in the regiment s legacy....show more content...Within the first fifteen minutes of the film, Robert Gould Shaw goes to a luxurious party held for returning officers of the battle. He was then asked by Governor John A. Andrew to become the commanding officer for a newly founded regiment of black soldiers. After the request of becoming a Colonel, Douglass formally agrees to the making of the regiment as an act of honor and dignity to all African Americans. Upon the same exact day, Shaw agrees to take charge of the the regiment. Though once again, the movie wrong about the event.
Frederick Douglass actually had more involvement in the 54th Massachusetts than depicted in the movie. Also in reality, his sons were listed into the volunteer infantry. Their names were Charles and Lewis Douglass, even though they did not take any part of the movie. Frederick also gave the idea to President Lincoln for the creation of colored regiments. His ideas came to surf

Spanglish Movie Analysis
Introduction
Global village (McLuhan, 1964) is no longer a new concept in the 21st century. This is the place where all cultures integrate and cultural boundaries seem to be eliminated. Besides offering new opportunities for people all over the world to learn about foreign cultures, global village also presents such challenges as cultural conflicts, cultural diverging or assimilation. In such context, learning how to become a competent intercultural communicator in this century has never been more urgent. Therefore, this essay would like to focus on analyzing Spanglish a cross cultural movie, which may prepare you with helpful information with regard to cultural problems and their respective recommend solutions.
Spanglish is about...show more content...There is no such thing as magic bullet or pat answer for competent intercultural communication. It takes time for everybody to get accustomed to a new environment and to learn how to live peacefully in a foreign culture. The only thing that should be kept in mind is that to survive in an intercultural environment, people should be aware and tolerant of cultural differences and adopt some foreign customs and values and simultaneously try to keep their own unique cultural identity. Integration without assimilation is the most deeply meaningful lesson that Spanglish give to the

Comparison of Two Newspaper Articles
Comparison of Two Newspaper Articles
These two articles are about asylum seekers. Both articles agree that there are too many asylum seekers, but are presented in a very different way to each other. Article one is a shorter more aggressive tract, not intended to make the reader think about the article but just to instantly agree with it. Article two however stands back and looks at the problem, why it has arisen and suggests ways that there can be resolutions. Both papers also criticise the government for being too lenient, and for not taking any action. Both identify David Blunkett, naming the government s minister responsible for this area of policy, an important factual ingredient. The two...show more content...These people are the opposite to the writer of article one who also has not seen both sides of the argument.
The writer of article one relies on strong and emotive language to get her point across and to get people to see her point of view. She also tries to win a sympathy vote by starting to blame the asylum seekers for our second rate education system, long waiting lists for operations, people dying on hospital trolleys in corridors and the inadequacies of our social services system. In a way the author is right but for the wrong reason, that there are so many of them . She also tries to make the reader feel a bit hard done to by the government by commenting on how in Leeds the asylum seekers have got their own mobile health clinic when normal British people can t get to see a G.P for love nor money , in actual fact this is because the G.P s won t take them on because they don t speak English and that they have too many patie

The French Music
Other exiled composers, on the other hand, flourished during these years. Multiple symphonies, chamber music pieces, and other works were written during this time. Composers expressed this period of writing as a transformation, but also risky and inventive. Stravinsky, who traveled to the United States at the start of the war, saw one of the most productive and yet grounding periods of his writing career. Stravinsky found himself in a conservative environment, which in return, may have lead to his consolidated style in Petroushka and other writings of this time.
Another scene that did fairly well during the war was the state of French Music. One major change was the location. Due to war efforts in Paris, most of the French music scene, including the French Orchestra was moved to Rennes, France. The financial support during this switch, however, surprisingly increased and so did the amount of patrons at to their performances. Money intake increased four hundred and fifty nine percent while concert frequency and regularity also increased. Why the sudden increase in activity? Many believe it may be to due a certain mentality and psychology that people want to get away from the obsessions of the present time, understandably referring to the exhausting and troubling times of the war. A few downsides to this rather successful scene, however, stemmed from the Nazi power and their regulations on censorship. One guideline of the music in Europe was the banning of degenerate

Election In Nepal Essay
Recently, Nepal has completed two phases of local elections in six provinces covering 67 districts out of 75 districts, leaving the 8 districts in the province 2 for the third phase. The election result has imparted important, some expected and some unexpected, lessons for Nepali politics.
First, people were eager to participate in the elections. The overall participation level reached 71 percent. It was only expected in view of the fact that local elections were not conducted for almost two decades and local bodies were run by bureaucrats throughout that period.
Second, there was a clear disconnect between Madheshi political leaders now organized around the Rashtriya Janata Party Nepal and Madheshi voters. RJP leaders had...show more content...Franklin D. So the Madheshi voters have supported those political parties that could deliver what they want.
Indeed, identity politics has relevance for the oppressed people. It is reflected in the local election result.

Colony Pledging Ceremony
All,
We are almost halfway through the expansion here at the College of Charleston! There has been a noticeable spike in interest in our organization over the past week when compared to last week. After presenting and getting in contact with several sororities and other student organizations, our names list almost quadrupled in size. The sororities and organizations seem to be very receptive to our mission here and they have been supportive overall. It seems that every day we have someone come to the tent with another referral to give us.
Overall, the expansion has been going along smoothly. The only issue that we have been facing is getting a chapter to come down to perform the colony pledging ceremony. We originally had Iota Kappa locked down, but they just recently backed out due to time and logistical reasons. We are working hard to fill that spot and provide an unforgettable first experience for the men of the College of Charleston Crescent Colony or, what I am calling them, the CCCC!

Gender Stratification Essay
According to Helsin, Possamai and Possamai Inesedy (2011 p. 625) gender stratification occurs when a specific gender has unequal access to power, property and prestige. As gender is classed as a master status it forms a significant structural characteristic within society (Helsin, Possamai Possamai Inesedy 2011, p. 310). Therefore, it is society, through social construction that determines what gender norms are considered appropriate and can be passed through generations of people via agents of socialisation such as family, mass media or in the form of symbolic interaction (Macionis Plummer 1997, pp. 139 141).

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

I have a good understanding about Human Resource Management. Going through human resource management has taught me so much more than stuff
about how the working companies deal with their success in employing the right person for the right job. I have learned here how to write and express
myself, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don't know. Most importantly I have learned how important wider

These are the things that I have worked on and improved over the past couple of weeks and I feel that my work shows this.
During my HRM I did learn a lot of theory related to people on how they cope up with their daily lives and their work. The seminars that I have
attended the past couple of weeks have really helped me in writing and presenting what I learnt with better ideas. I have learned how to write various
understandings of humanity in different forms and different fields. I feel confident that I could talk and write about resourcing about any particular
company without hesitating or not believing my thoughts.
There are a couple of things that I do feel I lack the confidence and skill to perform, and that is what I hope to gain from participating in presentations.
I am scared to present because I don't know how to share my knowledge with others–students who may have no idea what I am talking about (Lecture
9, Group And Teamworking, 06/12/2011). I hope to learn more about how teachers share their knowledge as part of my own understandings.

Human resource management (HRM) is a designed function to maximize the performance of employees in an organization in service to the
organizational objectives. The human resource unit is usually responsible for activities such as recruitment of employees, training, rewarding and also
performance management. The department is also accountable for guaranteeing that the activities undertaken by the organization are in line with the
standards, regulations and laws set by the government (Mathis & Jackson, 2012). When recruiting new staff into the organization, the HRM
department requires several strategic points in order to recruit staffs that have the skills and specification that will help attain the set staffing goals.
Some of these factors include quality of the required workforce, cost of unfilled jobs, availability of labor, highly skilled applicants who are attracted
by proper advertisement of the job opportunities, employment 'branding' and image, and practicing internal recruiting. Kaspan Ltd. is an American

Introduction
Human Resource Management (HRM) can be described as the term that is used to define formal systems developed for the administration of people
/ personnel within the organization. The major responsibilities of the Human Resource are normally divided into three major areas of management:
employee compensation, staffing the employees, and defining/designing work. Fundamentally, the major purpose of Human Resource Management is
to make the most of the productivity of an organization by improving the efficiency of its staffs. The Human Resource comes across numerous issues
and challenges, and in order to solve those issues, the HR managers have to take specific steps. In this paper, I am describing a particular issue related
to Human Resource Management, which I have witnessed and I am intended to solve through my strategic and organizational point of view (Simons,
2011).
Issue in the Organization
The organization where I work is related to both manufacturing and customer service. I had heard about many issues happening within the organization.
However, the most significant issue that I noticed/ observed in the Organization was related to the Human Resource Management. The customers
often complained that they are not satisfied from the services being provided to them, which was majorly due to lack of capability of the employees
to treat customers in a right way. They did not know what to do and when to do. Also, I noticed that most of the employees seemed

Human Resource Management (HRM) is now a term which is now widely used, yet loosely defined (Guest, 1987). So, what is HRM? What does it
mean and what is its focus? "The focus on HRM is on managing people within the employer – employee relationship. Specifically it involves the
productive use of people in achieving the organisation's strategic business objectives and the satisfaction of individual employees needs." (Stone, 1998)
Derived from this and certain theories addressed later in this research, HRM in the field of organisational behaviour engages a set of policies designed

qualifications to exceed levels expected, even though they may have a wheelchair or a different colour skin. In the rapid movement towards equal
opportunity for all, this is an absolute must for firm's today, and the managers should have open minds to all, as it may actually be more effective for
the company hiring this person over another. There is limited amount of information concerning the ethical practices of HRM, and it is found that it is
more a direct objective by the company, and the employees within that company that determine what is 'ethically correct' (Armstrong, 1992). There are

Human Resource Management in Business
Abstract
Human Resource Management (HRM) is no longer a personnel office that is simply a record–keeping and maintenance function. Huselid (1995) points
out that there is a positive correlation that has developed between HRM as a strategic ally and company performance. HRM research has grown from
an atheoretical origin to view organizational activities from an interdisciplinary perspective (Jennings, 1994) that is concerned with a movement toward
methodological and theoretical development (Ferris & Judge, 1991). This review will look at the different ways HRM plays into the overall scheme of
providing an organization with a more sustainable competitive edge.

Additionally, McNamara (1999) points out three other activities that fall within the realm of HRM–managing the approach to employee benefits and
compensation, employee records, and personnel policies.
Several HRM practices may influence individual performance by providing incentives that bring out appropriate behaviors (Minbaeva et al., 2003).
Such incentive systems may include performance–based compensation and the use of internal promotion systems that focus on employee merit and
help employees overcome barriers to career growth (Huselid, 1995). Previous research has shown that employees are more motivated when they are
informed about the organization. Sharing of information on strategy and company performance tells the employees that they are trusted. Additionally,
it is important that employees are kept current on company performance so that they can use the knowledge that resides in the organization to its fullest
potential (Pfeffer, 1998). And by factor–analyzing HRM practices, Huselid's (1995) influential study of the impact of 'high performance work practices'
points out the importance of HRM as it relates to organizational turnover, productivity, and

An organization needs constantly to take stock of its workforce and to assess its performance in existing jobs for three reasons:
To improve organizational performance via improving the performance of individual contributors (should be an automatic process in the case of
good managers, but (about annually) two key questions should be posed: o what has been done to improve the performance of a person last year? o
and what can be done to improve his or her performance in the year to come?).
To identify potential, i.e. to recognize existing talent and to use that to fill vacancies higher in the organization or to transfer individuals into jobs
where better use can be made of their abilities or developing skills.

Human resource management (HRM) is the strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organization's most valued assets – the people
working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the business.[1] The terms "human resource
management" and "human resources" (HR) have largely replaced the term "personnel management" as a description of the processes involved in
managing people in organizations.[1] Human Resource management is evolving rapidly. Human resource management is both an academic theory and a
business practice that addresses the theoretical and practical techniques of managing a workforce.
Its features include:
Personnel administration

As such, HRM techniques, when properly practiced, are expressive of the goals and operating practices of the enterprise overall. HRM is also seen by
many to have a key role in risk reduction within organisations.[5]
Synonyms such as personnel management are often used in a more restricted sense to describe activities that are necessary in the recruiting of a
workforce, providing its members with payroll and benefits, and administrating their work–life needs. So if we move to actual definitions, Torrington
and Hall (1987) define personnel management as being:
"a series of activities which: first enable working people and their employing organisations to agree about the objectives and nature of their working
relationship and, secondly, ensures that the agreement is fulfilled" (p. 49).
While Miller (1987) suggests that HRM relates to:
".......those decisions and actions which concern the management of employees at all levels in the business and which are related to the implementation
of strategies directed towards creating and sustaining competitive advantage" (p. 352).
The goal of human resource management is to help an organization to meet strategic goals by attracting, and maintaining employees and also to

The trend over the past few years has been to identify the linkage of HRM with organsitaional strategy in order to develop a strategic approach to

In order to understand which activities change when HRM goes international, we have to define IHRM first. Broadly speaking, the consensus is that
IHRM is about the worldwide management of human resources (Brewster, 2002; Brewster & Suutari, 2005). More specifically, according to Schuler and
Tarique (2007: 717), "...the field of IHRM is about understanding, researching, applying and revising all human resource activities in their internal and
external contexts as they impact the processes of managing human resources in organizations throughout the global environment to enhance the
experience of multiple stakeholders." In other words, the purpose of IHRM is to enable the multinational enterprise (MNE) to be successful on a global
level. Strategic international human resource management (SIHRM) focuses on strategic HRM in MNEs and recognizes the importance of linking
HRM with organizational strategies in order to achieve sustainable competitie advantage (Schuler &

senior level, human resource management (HRM) can act as a proactive commercial adviser. However, the relationship between overall strategic
planning and HRM is largely dependent on the perceptions of both HRM and senior management towards the contribution that the workforce can
make to corporate success. For example, companies that are aware of the strategic value of human resources are more likely to integrate HRM with the
overall strategic plan (Nankervis, Compton and McCarthy, 1993: p. 56).
Strategic human resource management (SHRM) is "the process of identifying the organisation's strategic goals and the use of these goals as the basis
for personnel practices and procedures" (Butler, Ferris and Napier, 1991: p. 64). Comparing the performance of organisations that utilise it with those
