Sorghum Research Paper
Forages in Australia are mainly kept in the country for use in feeding livestock. Excess forages are
cut to be baled for hay or they are ensiled, which means to be cut and stored in a silo or similar type
facility to be preserved as silage. Another newer and more popular use of forages are as cover crops
in between growing seasons. This is a good way to improve soil health and it also creates another
grazing area for livestock.
There are three main types of forages in Australia: sorghum, millet, and cover crops.
The first mentioned, sorghum, is the best known of the three. Although sorghum can be
harvested as grain, it is also used as a forage crop. Sorghum has a very high production potential
which makes it a great feed source for livestock. There are two main hybrids of sorghum that are
grown in Australia, and they are: sudan x sorghum where the bulk of this feed is available in the
summer and autumn and sweet sorghum where the bulk of feed is available in autumn. Although
sorghum is a great feed source, it does have a fault. The sorghum plants produce a toxic prussic
acid when they are young and if the plants are grazed by livestock during this period, it could be
fatal to the livestock.

Temperate millet has an advantage because it is the first forage available for grazing in the
spring. But, it only produces well in temperate like climates near the coast. Temperate millet also
needs to be grazed regularly to maintain the feed quality. It is planted starting in August. Hybrid
millet is desired by farmers in dryer growing conditions. The feed from the hybrid millet crop is
mostly available in the later summer and into autumn. Although it can be a good feed source, it is
unpalatable to livestock. Hybrid millet is planted in

The Relation Of Specific Psychopathology With Social...
The article presented by Gray et al (2010), thoroughly examines the relations of specific
psychopathology with social perception. Autism spectrum disorder, schizotypy and psychopathy
will be further inspected and researched through a transdiagnostic approach treating these disorders
as impairments of the underlying cognitive system instead of as a difference in entity. Gray et al
(2010), tries to define the aforementioned disorders with both an agency (cognitive abilities and
control) and an experience (primitive or animalistic behaviours) score which are underlying aspects
of mindperception. Mind perception can either be defined as overperception, perceiving a
nonexistent mind, or underperception, failing to perceive those with an... Show more content on

The research was conducted with results from Self Report online questionnaires designed to assess
Autism, Schizotypy Personality and Psychopathy. Every participant were asked to complete web
versions of the Autism Spectrum Quotient scale (AQ), the Schizotypy Personality Questionnaire
(SPQ B) and the Self Report Psychopathy Scale (SPR III). To encourage participants to be honest
with their answers, respect for participants rights and dignity was sustained through getting rid of a
subscale from SPR III that may had confidentiality concerns. Correlations for agency and
experience were adjusted to make sure no third variable influences or confounds are included in the
final result. Any significant correlations were adjusted to maintain the transparency of the results.
These questionnaires included questions that not only concerns men and women but of other
entities such: as dogs, baby, dead women, God, robot, Superman, and trees. With assessment of
these agency and experience correlation scores, the researchers can validate the influences of these
mental disorders with social perception.
Having a selection of different choices on the questionnaire strengthens and allows an accurate
representation of how these individuals perceive the entities, especially if they can be categorized.
If one were to find an outlier, then perhaps there s a special subjective view of that entity by the

Personal Statement For Master In Architecture
It is widely acknowledged that life is full of choices. The direction youchoose to take today

Past four years academic study of Architecture in China and America (one year in UNCC) formed
my keen insight and imagination about architecture. Meanwhile, the study of architecture makes
me begin to think how to apply aesthetic elements from arts such as color, lighting and
composition to architecture. Particularly, the study of basic architectural courses, such as
Structural System, Mechanics and Materials Science, makes me realize that architecture not only
attaches importance to aesthetics, but also on the more essential element practicability. Soon
after, I have now reached the point where knowledge from textbooks does not satisfy me
anymore. I believe that architecture is not only a skill but also, more importantly, a combination
of imagination and practicability. So I want to shift my attention to practicability for further
practical study, especially Sustainable Design. Also, I worked in an architectural design institute
as an intern for 15 weeks learning how architecture rise up from ground and how to complete the
construction drawings, which get very highly appraised. However, sometimes, I feel at a loss or
completely confused when asked to carry out a design or other projects, but the voice from the
deepest part of my heart always gave me some enlightenment: You can either travel or read, but
either your body or soul must be on the way. And architecture can be my soul on my way. Finally, I

The Pros And Cons Of Killer Robots
Background What image comes to mind when one hears the words Killer Robot ? If one visualises
the laser wielding android in Terminator 2 which threatens to overpower its defenceless human
adversaries, one would not be too far from the truth[1]. Today, advanced robots capable of engaging
a human target autonomously are no longer confined to fiction but are instead rapidly becoming a
reality. Killer Robots or, officially, Lethal Autonomous Robots (LARs), are robots that once
activated can operate without any further human intervention. This new weapons system is capable
of identifying and attacking a human target on its own. Delegates should note that these robots

Outline Of A Proposal Outline
Memo
Date: April 10, 2015
To: Amanda Rico, Instructor: English 210 Section 581
From: Jared Glenn
Subject: MWP 2 Outline of Report Completion
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide an outline of the topics I plan to conduct further research
on and compile that research in a formalized report over the specifics of those topics. The final
result will be a proposed program, backed with modern research sourcing, ready for completion.
Introduction
In reference to my last memo, I discussed plans to make alterations to Francis Hall, a newly
renovated building on the Texas A M Campus for the Construction Science Department and student.
Specifically, the first task is survey to compile major courses of action, followed by compiling a
proposal in conjunction with a general contractor for consideration by the Board of Regents. The
original renovation had a budget of 5 million dollars, which included classrooms, a computer lab,
student lounge, lavatories, and staff offices. The renovation is suitable for the current status of
Construction Science; however the growing program will soon outgrow the building. For these
reasons, I am writing a follow up memo of the topics to be included in my upcoming researched
recommendation report.
Tasks to be Researched
With approval to conduct research on my proposed tasks, I will begin by restating each task from
the original memo, followed by the subtasks I will research for each main task.
Main Task 1. Research student opinion, and popular

Speed Limits Of The Transport Industry
Speed limit in the transport industry is not a new phenomenon, and they are laws and by laws
that limit the speed of vehicles at a specific stretch of roads. Majority of countries around the
world have speed limits on all roads or on specific roads. Moreover, majority of the speed limit
rules apply in populous areas such as urban centers and residential areas. Other speed limits
might also apply in some regions with higher population of animals along the roads. Road signs
are used to indicate speed limits. In some cases, the speed limit law or by laws is not strict
(Lund, 2007). There are many reasons why speed limits can be necessary in Halifax region, and
there are many reasons why it makes sense to implement speed limits is because they have worked
in other cities and nations. Otherwise, the most important impact is the significant reduction in road
accident as a result of speed limits. Speed limits have existed since the steam engine error in the
19th century where the United Kingdom set the maximum speed at 10 kilometers per hour.
However, it is important to note that the reasoning behind the speed limit could have been different
from the modern speed limits reasoning. In the 19th century, technology advancement in the
transport industry was at infant stages, therefore, the lawmaker could not image a huge machine
traveling at a relatively high speed. This means that a speed of 10 kilometer per hour could be a
low speed when modern technology is considered, but could be

Comparing Kennedy And Roosevelt s Four Freedoms
Both Roosevelt s Four Freedoms speech and Kennedy s inaugural address express helping the
world obtain liberty, however Roosevelt s speech focuses on what the freedoms are, whereas
Kennedy s speech focuses on what we should do about it. Though both of the speeches are given
by respectable Presidents of the United Statesand discuss the topic of freedom, they are very
differing in what they focus on when talking about liberty.
Both Kennedy and Roosevelt wrote speeches on the topic of liberty and there are many
similarities to the two, one in particular I found very interesting was This nation has placed its
destiny in the hands and hearts of its millions of free men and women, and its faith in freedom
under the guidance of God (FDR 276). This shows that Roosevelt put his faith in God in whether
the country deserved freedom or not, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also a quote similar to this in Kennedy s speech it states that The belief that the rights of
man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God (JFK 284). Both
Kennedy and Roosevelt believe that hand will give our Nation its right when GOD decides to
give it. They both believe that it is not our government that decides when freedom will happen, it
is God that decides that. Another similarity between the two is that both express keeping the
world free. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price,
bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to ensure the survival
and the success of liberty (JFK 284). This one by JFK expresses we as a country, will do anything
to help any country be free and want to help even if we are enemy countries. We are putting

We each have a right to buy anything we would like with our own money. Whether that right is a
good decision how ever is something we must stop and question. You may have a right to spend
your weekend surfing, but it can still be true that you ought to visit your sick mother. Someone
with all the money in the world could buy a new car every day, throw lavish parties, go on
vacation once a month on a new jet plane and even throw tons of money into a lake, they have the
right to do so with they re money! How ever coud this incredibly rich person choose to do other
things with their money? To choose to do these things rather than use the money to save human
lives is wrong. вЃµ Singer insist that we should use our money wisely. In Singer s last argument
he states a blunt and simple responce to Lucy s opinion on giving. My aim is to convince you,
the individual reader that you can and should be doing a lot more to help the poor. By having
the right to controle your own money and because we were fortunate enough to live in such
great economical conditions, we should work harder to help others that will never have the same
chances. Lucy from Glennview High and Peter Singer make strong points on each side of the

money, they have the right to spend it on themselves. I for one go to school full

wealth distribution, a social injustice
Is Wealth Distribution Today Just?
In current times we often observe that many members of our society receive less than other
members regardless of whether they are no less deserving. In contrast, there are some who have
ownership over assets and earn income that they may not be deserving of. The distributive balance
is upset and wealth distribution today can thus be seen as a social injustice. This injustice that is
becoming more noticeable as people start to become aware of the facts, as we can see through the
start of the occupy wall street movements that, first started on wall street in America, have spread to
other countries (one of which being Australia). As a consequence of how wealth is habitually
distributed and the way in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the wealthiest 20% account for 62% of total
household net worth, with an average net worth of $2.2 million per household while the poorest
20% of households account for only 1% of total household net worth, with an average net worth of
$31,829 per household. This can be at least partly attributed to a decrease in tax rate increments.
The statistics draw on the selected income distribution indicators, which specify disposable
household income (money that can be kept and spent for recreational purposes), show that those
individuals in the high income bracket receive 40% of their total income while those in the low
income bracket only receive 10%. Consequently, the net worth across households becomes even
less matched as the rich not only have a considerably higher income, but are also able to save up
much more. The discrepancies between the net worth in households are therefore exponentially
larger than the discrepancies that exist in income, which reflects the previously mentioned pattern
of people accumulating wealth through their working lives. The indignant attitudes posited by the
movement can therefore be seen as justified. However, thought it may be justified, the movement
seems to lack a focused goal they demand that some change is needed so that the situation
regarding inequality can be rectified, but their demands fail to offer articulated strategy as to how
this can be

A Note On Detection Algorithm
2.1 PAGE CHANGE DETECTION ALGORITHM
2.1.1 Introduction: About 60% of the content on the web is dynamic. It is quiet possible that
after downloading a particular web page, the local copy of the page residing in the repository of
the web pages becomes obsolete compared to the copy on the web. Therefore a need arises to
update the database of web pages. Once a decision has been taken to update the pages, it should
be ensured that minimal resources are used in the process. Updating only those elements of the
database, which have actually undergone a change, can do this. Importance of web pages to be
downloaded has been discussed in the above section. It also checks whether the page is already
there in the database or not and lowers its priority value if it is referred rather frequently. In this
section, we discuss some algorithms to derive certain parameters, which can help in deriving the
fact whether the page has changed, or not. These parameters will be calculated at the time of page
parsing. When the client again counters the same URL, it just calculates the code by parsing the
page without downloading the page and compares it to the current parameters. If changes in
parameters are detected, it is concluded that the page has changed and needs to be downloaded
again. Otherwise the URL is discarded immediately without further processing. The following
changes are of importance when considering changes in a web page:
Change in page structure.
Change in text contents.

The Spanish Reconquista and the formation of Spanish national identity
During the times the Iberian Peninsula was ruled by the Muslims and was called Al Andalus,
Christians, Jews and Muslims coexisted in harmony in the Caliphates. However, the understanding
of Spain as it is understood today did not exist. It was because of the Christianisation of the
peninsula and the Reconquista that Iberia was reimagined as something more similar to what we
understand today as Spain and Portugal. In this essay I intend to explain how this happened, which
historical figures were key to this event and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether this battle is real or an invention from some scribe in the eleventh or twelfth Century is
uncertain, but it is doubtfully key to the understanding of the cult to the saint, since the legend
tells that he appeared to King Ramiro I on a dream promising his victory over the Moors, and
even after being severely injured in a previous battle by the enemy army, they took victory over
their foes . One of the biggest collections of iconography is in the Santiago de Compostela
cathedral, where a large collection of pictures and sculptures dress the building with his image .
Perhaps the most recognizable figure of the whole Reconquista is El Cid Campeador, a
Castilian nobleman who regained the city of Valencia in 1094. Almost everything we know
about him comes from texts dating over a century and a half after his death, so there has been
speculation about if he was indeed a real man or just a legend, although this seems to be
completely speculated since there is proof enough to say with almost all certainty that he indeed
existed . He gained the city of Valencia in 1409, only to be lost again three years after his death .
Still, his image was still very present and magnified in the subsequent years, inspiring all kinds of
art and literature, such as the very significant Cantar del Myo Г‡yd, the oldest preserved epic
poem, which tells his story.
Despite being loss after his death, the city of Valencia was won again by Jaume I El Conqueridor

The Heat Transfer Of A Forced Draft Cooling
Abstract
The aim of this experiment is to analyse the heat transfer of a forced draft cooling water tower
and to perform energy and mass balances on the system. The system consisted of a single cooling
tower where the heated water flowed down the tower, while air flow was directed against the water
flow. In the system the energyconsumption of the heating element, the flow rate of the heated
water and pressure could be adjusted. Measured properties in the system include the wet and dry
bulb temperatures at the inlet and outlet, the temperature of the water in and out, the make up
temperature and the pressure. The power to the heat is predetermined as well as the water mass flow
rate. The enthalpy, absolute humidity and the specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water is more commonly used due to its higher heat transfer coefficient, resulting in a smaller
required surface area for cooling. The downside to water based cooling systems is that once the
water has heated it must be cooled before it can be used again, this is a problem when trying to
minimalise heat pollution. Due to the need for cooling of the water used, systems such as
cooling water towers were developed. This is the most common method of cooling for
recirculated water in chemical process industries. While water is fed down the tower, a cooling
air flow is fed up through a system of slats that will increase the surface area of the water being
cooled. As water falls down through the tower some of it will evaporate, this acts to further cool
the stream as more heat is expelled in the form of latent heat. The aim of this report is to analyse
the heat transfer of a forced draft cooling tower and to perform energy and mass balances on the
system. The Bench Top Cooling Tower H891, with six thermometer readings, two wet and dry
bulbs at the top and bottom of the system, was put into a steady state where measurements were
made.

The Walt DisneyCompany history started when Ub Iwerks and Walter Elias Disney, after being

Another reason given by Walt to change the name of the company was the fact that if the name was

Secondly, Walt Disney decided to move into a bigger studio that was built on Hyperion Avenue in
1926. It was in that studio that Walt Disney along with his staff in order to overcome the crisis that
the company was feeling after the Alice Comedies circumstance, that he designed a new character
and gave him a personality that endeared him to all, Mickey Mouse .
After the development and success of the new character, Walt Disney Studios became a global
reference. ( Mickey Mouse was actually going to be called Mortimer Mouse . However, Lillian
Disney, Walt s wife, did not like the name Mortimer because it was too depressing so they
changed it into Mickey because it was a happy and friendly name .) That is the reason why Walt
Disney always stated that It all started with a mouse . Initially, Walt was unable to sell the first two
Mickey Mouse cartoons because they were silent films. Therefore, they made a third Mickey Mouse
cartoon, this time with fully synchronized sound, the Steamboat Willie, which premiered at the
Colony Theater in New York on the 18th of November 1928 and became a tremendous

In figure 1 (Bartley), shown above, ninety eight percent of test subjects agree that Shape A is
Kiki while Shape B is Bouba. From studies of sound symbolism, one can infer that before
knowing anything about a person or subject, most people already have predetermined feelings
about the person or subject. Due to sound symbolism, among other factors, a person s name could
potentially affect his or her personality. This is because outside perceptions of one can influence
one s self perception (Deluzain). In his book about psychology, Alter mentions every name is
associated with demographic baggage (Drunk Tank Pink 9). Different names can indicate a person
s age or ethnicity; coupled with the idea that children tend to follow expectations set for them
(Bryner), this provides a reason why names can affect a person s personality. When children are met
repetitively by a certain expectation, they start to believe what is said about them, that others
perception of them is correct, and follow this expectation. Adults too, when in the outside world and
met with different biases due to their names, may act the ways others believe them to act, and not
how they might naturally act. Names also have different connotations, influencing a person to act a
certain way. For example, children with names that are closer to the opposite gender version of the
name are influenced to act differently

of Creep, this causes the listener to view the song to believe that a heterosexual male singing
about his girl of his dreams instead of the homosexual female singing about her girl of her
dreams like the Bradlee s version of Creep suggests. Another big difference between the two
songs is the instrumentals they have in them. In the Bradlee s version of Creep, the main
instruments in it are a piano, a cello, a trombone and a saxaphone. This is part of a common line
up of Jazz as stated by an article title Zydeco . It states, The most important and traditional
instrument used in performing zydeco (Jazz) is the piano accordion. Other instruments often
included in a zydeco band are the guitar, electric bass, saxophone, drums, and rubboard
(washboard) (Zydeco) From knowing that this is a line up to Jazz that we can assume that this is a
traditional Jazz line for Bradlee s version of the song. With both of them sharing the piano,
saxophone, and other brass instrument, we

Temple Grandin Theme
Temple Grandin: A Story of Perservearence Temple Grandin and Invictus are excellent films in
their own right. Both share themes of sacrifice, courage, and acceptance. The storytelling in each
is very different however. Temple Grandin is one persons account of her life with autism and life
s work. Invictus is a much larger story involving a whole country, and the turbulent history it s new
President desperately wanted to change for the people. Although these movies are both well
written and acted, Temple Grandin is the best overall firm because the story is focused, relevant
and provides an uplifting story of perseverance and hope. The movie Temple Grandin allows the
viewer to relate to the very personal struggles and triumphs Temple experiences as she navigates

The United States has continued issues with racial inequity among citizens. Deep divides between
races are seen in the Invictus film. Many americans can relate to the feelings of anger and fear
expressed in the film. Although Invictus is relatable, the feelings of frustration, personal challenge,
and loneliness expressed in Temple Grandin and more universal. Temple Grandin deals with these
feelings and also touches on a relevant topic today. Autism cases across the U.S. are increasing in
children. With all the technology we have access to, researchers still cannot provide a conclusive
cause for this rise. Speculative reasons are entertained such as environmental toxins, advanced
maternal age, or changes in agriculture cultivation. For families struggling with autism, the movie
Temple Grandin is hopeful and uplifting. For people who were previously unfamiliar with autism,
It shows a snapshot of one persons experience with autism and what it may look like. At it s core it
is a beautiful story of a woman born with challenges and the tenacity to overcome them; this theme

SLU Mission Statement
Narrow hallways walled by human heads and limbs crowding every space between metal bars
surrounded me. Children starved on unpaved streets with only rags that wrapped their bodies. I
ended my high school career by serving a foreign community. In Chinandega, Nicaragua I had the
opportunity to befriend and support the sick, the imprisoned, the orphaned and impoverished. This
experience among others shaped me to appreciate the value of philanthropy and social justice.
Throughout High School, I led multiple philanthropic projects. As president of the Ignite
Organization, I involved students to raise funds for, and volunteer at a pregnancy center. I
assembled a team of volunteers, and initiated fundraisers. This effort transpired over a year and
continues to affect my community. I also developed a supply drive to assist Hurricane Sandy
victims through benefit events. Furthermore, I volunteered at summer camps as well as at my

A Stronger And Unified European Union
SCENARIO ONE: A stronger and unified European Union
The first possible scenario in the next decade is a daring rise toward much closer integration. This
scenario is probably the most desirable but also the most elusive one. In this scenario, France and
Germany will take the leap forward and lead the group towards fiscal and political union. Countries
in the region will reduce their debt and liberalize their labor markets allowing free movement of
workers between borders. The European Central Bank will supervise the other central national
banks carefully and harmonize the tax systems of the entire union. In this first scenario, the
economic, security and demographic drivers are the most important.
Economic recovery will link two important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Euro will be expanded with the incorporation of Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria
and possibly the United Kingdom, reaching twenty five members, which will increase a greater
budgetary capacity and thus countries in this group will be required to act together. Eurobonds are
also an obvious option for the mid term economic recovery. Still it is not clear the effects of the
bonds on the economy, but it will be necessary to create a European Treasury Department that can
issue and control them.
Also, to promote a greater control by the European institutions, there is a need to establish
mechanisms of supervision of the financial system. These tools will encourage greater collaboration
and connection between economies to prevent a future crisis. The European Union will also invest in
long term projects in the productive sectors to promote competitiveness, research and innovation in
the European economy. This new approach will enable well prepared societies capable to tackle the
economic and financial downturns.
In the medium term, the fight against low employment rate will also be important, particularly in a
time where there are more than 21 million unemployed in the European Union . Many of them
young people under 25 years old (around 5 million in the EU). To counter the effects of
unemployment, the European Union will reinforce its Youth Guarantee program. This program
establishes that young people under 25 can (whether registered with employment

Tony Brown Observation
I observed a two year old male child; I will be referring to him as Tony Brown. The project I think
went pretty well. The observation took place at his home while his mother was present. Tony
Brown is a Hispanic male; he is a cute little kid. My topic is how Tony Brown uses language to
interact with his environment and I observed how he did. I observed him at his home, the second
floor of an apartment complex. I was in the living room while he roamed freely, while I watched
how he interacted with his environment and how he used languageto get his mother s attention.

He has an understanding of how to put sentences together because he tries to, but the words do
not fully make sense to other people. Tony Brown does things like any other two year old at his
age he plays with toys, loves his mother, and gets distracted easily. For example, when it was
time for the activity he had unfortunately became distracted. The activity I chose to do was to see
if he could identify a set of flashcards that had colors and shapes on them. I wanted to see if the
child could say both what the color was and also say the shape that was associated with the color.
I was trying to test not only his language abilities, but his ability to differentiate between the color
and the shape. When I tried to administer the activity he kind of just looked at me and continued
to play with his toys or something else. I finally got him to actually engage in the activity
afterwards, which was great, but he still wasn t fully engaged with it. Tony Brown knew most of
the colors and spoke them, but not completely clear. After a while I could eventually make out the
word he was trying to say. He also knew the shapes, but when he saw a circle he said ball , or he
just said the corresponding color instead of the shape. The thing that I saw was that he could
distinguish the color purple very well and he said it very clearly and I thought that was interesting
because it was his mother s favorite color. In conclusion, Tony Brown is a smart kid who is

The Uk Constitution And The United States
Often the UK constitution is asserted to be the most unique in the world, as its sources are a piece
of historical significance as they come from great British heritage. From the case of Jackson and
others v Her Majesty s Attorney General, Lord Steyn stated that We do not in the UK have an
uncontrolled constitution. In general terms a person may judge the UK constitution to be
uncontrolled due to it being unwritten, as it is derived from a wide range of sources. Which vary
from common law to international treaties. However on the other side of the spectre, a written
constitution is one like the USA s, embodied into a single document. Putting aside the fact that the
UK constitution is from a variety of different sources, it must be verified that it has worked
successfully to this date from 1689 when the supremacy of parliament over the crown was
introduced, following the glorious revolution. It can also be said that, why would the UK
constitution be classed as uncontrolled, if it has worked for hundreds of years and it is still going
strong.
A constitution is generally there for one purpose, it sets out the framework and principal functions
of the organs of government and by setting out these functions the UK has been growing and
adapting. We in other words have an evolutionary constitution. If it ever came to a time where a
written constitution was enacted, it would indeed disrupt the infrastructure of the UK as they are
inflexible. Clear inflexibility is shown by

Comparing The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven
Based on the experiences and hardships of Native Americans in the United States, the stories
featured in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie display the
escapades of Victor and a few others such as Junior and Thomas. The collection of tales shows
various stereotypes of Native Americans that the author has identified with as aspects of his life
such as drinking problems within families. One of the main focuses of the book as a whole that was
present in almost every story was the relationship between Native Americans and other races. The
Natives in the story almost always inherently clashed with the whites of the story, however all was
not well between other minorities and even other Natives interacting with the protagonists. Race,
whether it is Native American, another minority, or white, does not determine the conflict and
tension between two people as displayed by Victor and Junior s interactions throughout The Lone
Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven. In the stories featured in Alexie s piece, damaging
relationships between Natives and their own families, neighbors, and peers can be seen. In the tale
Every Little Hurricane , the toxic relations between families and friends are exhibited as attendees

I chose this weekend because Martin Luther King, Jr. day is the 16th, and this day can serve as a
day for most of the leaders and volunteers to rest and recuperate after the weekend. Given the
dates are in the middle of the month of January, the process of planning should start in early
April. In early April, I will present the idea to my Pastor in a formal meeting. I will inform my
Pastor of my intentions to use our Youth Worship Center to host a D Now weekend. Upon his
approval, I will move forward in planning the weekend. In May, I will enlist a graphic designer to
prepare the artwork to be printed on a postcard. Also, I will work to book a speaker and a
worship band for the weekend. The curriculum will be purchased in May as well. The artwork on
the postcard will be made up with the appropriate information regarding dates, prices, speaker,
worship band, and other event information. The card will need to be printed by the first of June.
Once the card is received, I will begin to distribute it to the students. Along with the cards, I will
start promoting the event periodically at our weekly gatherings. Also, I will ask my Pastor if I can
take some time in June and August to inform the congregation and ask them to begin prayerfully
considering to volunteer during the weekend. Sign ups for students attending the D Now will
begin in July and will end promptly on December 1. All waivers, release forms, and payments must

Angelo And Cross Summary
The article from Angelo and Cross, while dated, is a valuable lesson and read for educators (and
myself). Many of the concepts covered in this article highlight the ways that assessment can help
college teachers gain useful feedback and analyze student learning. The article encourages educators
to review the central aim of college which is to help students become more effective and efficient
learners. Additionally, by focusing on the characteristics of classroom assessment (learner centered,
teacher directed, mutually beneficial, formative, context specific, ongoing, and firmly rooted in
good practice) educators can see what students are learning. Learning is a collaborative effort, both
the educator and student need to work together.

Competitive Advantage Through Value Chain And Vertical...
We are living in a world, where technology keeps changing on day to day basis. In this ever
changing world of technology, the question is how are some companies doing better than the
others and what are they doing to maintain competitive advantage? Rise of technology has given
birth to competition by giving companies new ways to perform at higher levels and this has also
led to the ways companies are producing their products and services. Technology has affected
several sections of an organization by having an impact on business communications, company s
HR practices, and organizational changes. Therefore, in order to gain and maintain competitive
advantage, a company must do one of the two; either produce goods/services at a lower cost or
produce innovative products in a way that leads to differentiation and a premium price.
Section 1: Competitive Advantage through Value Chain and Vertical Integration
Companies are using value chain approach to better understand which key areas will give them the
greatest edge over its competitors. They are focusing on each division, distribution centers, pricing,
product innovation, selling techniques, and value chain formations.
Value chain is an important notion that highlights the role of information technology in the
operations of a company. A Value Chain is the whole series of activities that create and build value

The Importance of Preventative Medicine
Every decision a person makes in this life has an effect on their health. It may be going for a jog
or choosing fast food for lunch; participating in a triathlon or buying a package of cigarettes.
Many decisions people make are without any knowledge or regard of the health impact, such as
driving a car, using a cellphone, or jumping in Mirror Lake. This all begs the question, are we as a
society emphasizing inaugural speech as much we should? Most of today s healthissues are

Emily Bierce s A Rose For Emily
According to Melczarek, Faulkner uses more complicated narrative strategy to achieve
psychologically complex effect of horror in his story, while Bierce uses hallucination in his
story to create suspense. Bierce s starts his story with a man who is about to be hanged to death
without any description of that men. In the second section of the story Bierce describes a men
named Peyton Farquahar, the person to be hanged on old creek bridge. Farquahar appears to
make a dramatic escape when the rope breaks from the bridge, but at the end readers come to

Examining the narrator s manipulations of the timeline may indicate a motive or motives that,
when taken into consideration with the directions in which the narrative steers reader attention
when horror results from the text s final image. Nebecker rightly questions earlier interpretations
of the narrator as singular and male, suggesting a more plausible first person collective and multi
generational narrator. Furthermore, narrator s strategy for presenting Miss Emily Grierson s
story when Homer Barron mysteriously disappears and his remains are found after Emily dies
years later on a bed which Emily appears to have slept in as well in upstairs room of Emily s
house, Nebeker concludes that by abetting if not aiding these acts, the narrative we,
representative of the Old South, triumphs over the later they, representative of the New South. A
closer look at Bierce s An Occurrence at Old Creek Bridge reveals a number of ambiguous
passages that sound normal in the flow of narrative about Farquhar s escape, but can also depict
the actual horrors of dying at the end of a rope. In these ambiguous passages, Bierce s narrator
makes a point about the relativity of time and about how people tend to take for granted the
valuable things in life until threatened with their removal. These two themes, the fluid nature of
time and the value of things often taken for granted, are clear, and readers usually have no problem

Cleaning the Crim Dell
The synthesized plastic polymer PHA is a natural organic polymer derived from bacteria. These
synthesized plastic polymers have a plethora of functions and benefits, but its most important
function is its use in improving water quality.
The College Committee on Sustainability has already invested funds in producing and
experimenting with these PHA fibrous mats to improve water quality. In a laboratory controlled
environment, the PHA fibrous mat successfully denitrifies the water at a quick rate. From an
incubation completed in the Keck Lab, the experimental fibrous mat of PHA is shown to be able to
drop the nitrate levels in water to about one fourth of the original concentration in less than 20
hours. Due to the success in a small scale lab experiment, there is a need for me to test the PHA
fibrous mat in a large scale environment to successfully assess its denitrifying effectiveness. I
propose that the most suitable large scale environment to test the PHA s denitrification would be at
the Crim Dell due to its low water quality levels and on going nonpoint source pollution from

Finding ways to enhance the practice or patient care should remain a priority. The simple task of
revising the colonoscopy instruction sheets will not only benefit the patient, it also benefits the
staff and organization. The procedure room is set up before each patient arrives and when the
procedure is aborted or rescheduled due to an inadequate prep, supplies are wasted. This also
leaves the staff sitting around waiting for the next scheduled patient. The blame for the backlog has
been placed on the VA medical center, however, those who are non compliant or continuously
cancels are not held accountable. There should be no excuse involving the instruction sheets once
revised. The patient should leave the hospital feeling educated and ready to be compliant with the

The Importance Of Belonging To A Community
Many individuals when asked can identify themselves as belonging to a community. According to
the Oxford dictionary (2010) one definition of community is; all the people who live in a
particular area, country etc. when talked about as a group (p.301). The definition of a community
however is dependent on those who are defining it. Communities can also be defined as the
grouping of individuals who share similar qualities such as religion, race, etc. or who feel a sense
of belonging to a specific group. With the many variations of communities it is unsurprising that a
communityand its definition do not always remain the same. Communities shift and morph as the
people and environments within them do the same, some flourish and others crumble. To better
understand a community and its wellbeing, identifying its strengths and needs are essential.
Looking within the community for these identifications and definitions are necessary. Social
workers can play a role in assisting communities to identify their needs and strengths. Social
workers can further support and empower community members to mobilize towards social action
and change for their community s development. The neighborhood of west Broadway is its own

Excess forages are cut to be baled for hay or they are ensiled, which means to be cut and stored in a silo or similar type facility to be preserved as silage. Another newer and more popular use of forages are as cover crops in between growing seasons. This is a good way to improve soil health and it also creates another grazing area for livestock. There are three main types of forages in Australia: sorghum, millet, and cover crops. The first mentioned, sorghum, is the best known of the three. Although sorghum can be harvested as grain, it is also used as a forage crop. Sorghum has a very high production potential which makes it a great feed source for livestock. There are two main hybrids of sorghum that are grown in Australia, and they are: sudan x sorghum where the bulk of this feed is available in the summer and autumn and sweet sorghum where the bulk of feed is available in autumn. Although sorghum is a great feed source, it does have a fault. The sorghum plants produce a toxic prussic acid when they are young and if the plants are grazed by livestock during this period, it could be fatal to the livestock. ... Autism spectrum disorder, schizotypy and psychopathy will be further inspected and researched through a transdiagnostic approach treating these disorders as impairments of the underlying cognitive system instead of as a difference in entity. Gray et al (2010), tries to define the aforementioned disorders with both an agency (cognitive abilities and control) and an experience (primitive or animalistic behaviours) score which are underlying aspects of mindperception. To encourage participants to be honest with their answers, respect for participants rights and dignity was sustained through getting rid of a subscale from SPR III that may had confidentiality concerns. Correlations for agency and experience were adjusted to make sure no third variable influences or confounds are included in the final result. Any significant correlations were adjusted to maintain the transparency of the results. These questionnaires included questions that not only concerns men and women but of other entities such: as dogs, baby, dead women, God, robot, Superman, and trees. With assessment of these agency and experience correlation scores, the researchers can validate the influences of these mental disorders with social perception. Past four years academic study of Architecture in China and America (one year in UNCC) formed my keen insight and imagination about architecture. Meanwhile, the study of architecture makes me begin to think how to apply aesthetic elements from arts such as color, lighting and composition to architecture. Particularly, the study of basic architectural courses, such as Structural System, Mechanics and Materials Science, makes me realize that architecture not only attaches importance to aesthetics, but also on the more essential element practicability. Soon after, I have now reached the point where knowledge from textbooks does not satisfy me anymore. I believe that architecture is not only a skill but also, more importantly, a combination of imagination and practicability. So I want to shift my attention to practicability for further practical study, especially Sustainable Design. Also, I worked in an architectural design institute as an intern for 15 weeks learning how architecture rise up from ground and how to complete the construction drawings, which get very highly appraised. The final result will be a proposed program, backed with modern research sourcing, ready for completion. Introduction In reference to my last memo, I discussed plans to make alterations to Francis Hall, a newly renovated building on the Texas A M Campus for the Construction Science Department and student. Specifically, the first task is survey to compile major courses of action, followed by compiling a proposal in conjunction with a general contractor for consideration by the Board of Regents. The original renovation had a budget of 5 million dollars, which included classrooms, a computer lab, student lounge, lavatories, and staff offices. The renovation is suitable for the current status of Construction Science; however the growing program will soon outgrow the building. For these reasons, I am writing a follow up memo of the topics to be included in my upcoming researched recommendation report. Tasks to be Researched With approval to conduct research on my proposed tasks, I will begin by restating each task from the original memo, followed by the subtasks I will research for each main task. • 9. Speed Limits Of The Transport Industry Speed limit in the transport industry is not a new phenomenon, and they are laws and by laws that limit the speed of vehicles at a specific stretch of roads. Majority of countries around the world have speed limits on all roads or on specific roads. Moreover, majority of the speed limit rules apply in populous areas such as urban centers and residential areas. Other speed limits might also apply in some regions with higher population of animals along the roads. Road signs are used to indicate speed limits. In some cases, the speed limit law or by laws is not strict (Lund, 2007). There are many reasons why speed limits can be necessary in Halifax region, and there are many reasons why it makes sense to implement speed limits is because they have worked in other cities and nations. Otherwise, the most important impact is the significant reduction in road accident as a result of speed limits. Speed limits have existed since the steam engine error in the 19th century where the United Kingdom set the maximum speed at 10 kilometers per hour. However, it is important to note that the reasoning behind the speed limit could have been different from the modern speed limits reasoning. In the 19th century, technology advancement in the transport industry was at infant stages, therefore, the lawmaker could not image a huge machine traveling at a relatively high speed. This means that a speed of 10 kilometer per hour could be a low speed when modern technology is considered, but could be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In current times we often observe that many members of our society receive less than other members regardless of whether they are no less deserving. In contrast, there are some who have ownership over assets and earn income that they may not be deserving of. The distributive balance is upset and wealth distribution today can thus be seen as a social injustice. This injustice that is becoming more noticeable as people start to become aware of the facts, as we can see through the start of the occupy wall street movements that, first started on wall street in America, have spread to other countries (one of which being Australia). This can be at least partly attributed to a decrease in tax rate increments. The statistics draw on the selected income distribution indicators, which specify disposable household income (money that can be kept and spent for recreational purposes), show that those individuals in the high income bracket receive 40% of their total income while those in the low income bracket only receive 10%. Consequently, the net worth across households becomes even less matched as the rich not only have a considerably higher income, but are also able to save up much more. The discrepancies between the net worth in households are therefore exponentially larger than the discrepancies that exist in income, which reflects the previously mentioned pattern of people accumulating wealth through their working lives. The indignant attitudes posited by the movement can therefore be seen as justified. However, thought it may be justified, the movement seems to lack a focused goal they demand that some change is needed so that the situation regarding inequality can be rectified, but their demands fail to offer articulated strategy as to how this can be ... • 13. A Note On Detection Algorithm 2.1 PAGE CHANGE DETECTION ALGORITHM 2.1.1 Introduction: About 60% of the content on the web is dynamic. It is quiet possible that after downloading a particular web page, the local copy of the page residing in the repository of the web pages becomes obsolete compared to the copy on the web. Therefore a need arises to update the database of web pages. Once a decision has been taken to update the pages, it should be ensured that minimal resources are used in the process. Updating only those elements of the database, which have actually undergone a change, can do this. Importance of web pages to be downloaded has been discussed in the above section. It also checks whether the page is already there in the database or not and lowers its priority value if it is referred rather frequently. In this section, we discuss some algorithms to derive certain parameters, which can help in deriving the fact whether the page has changed, or not. These parameters will be calculated at the time of page parsing. When the client again counters the same URL, it just calculates the code by parsing the page without downloading the page and compares it to the current parameters. If changes in parameters are detected, it is concluded that the page has changed and needs to be downloaded again. Otherwise the URL is discarded immediately without further processing. The following changes are of importance when considering changes in a web page: Change in page structure. Change in text contents. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the biggest collections of iconography is in the Santiago de Compostela cathedral, where a large collection of pictures and sculptures dress the building with his image . Perhaps the most recognizable figure of the whole Reconquista is El Cid Campeador, a Castilian nobleman who regained the city of Valencia in 1094. Almost everything we know about him comes from texts dating over a century and a half after his death, so there has been speculation about if he was indeed a real man or just a legend, although this seems to be completely speculated since there is proof enough to say with almost all certainty that he indeed existed . The downside to water based cooling systems is that once the water has heated it must be cooled before it can be used again, this is a problem when trying to minimalise heat pollution. Due to the need for cooling of the water used, systems such as cooling water towers were developed. This is the most common method of cooling for recirculated water in chemical process industries. While water is fed down the tower, a cooling air flow is fed up through a system of slats that will increase the surface area of the water being cooled. As water falls down through the tower some of it will evaporate, this acts to further cool the stream as more heat is expelled in the form of latent heat. Due to sound symbolism, among other factors, a person s name could potentially affect his or her personality. This is because outside perceptions of one can influence one s self perception (Deluzain). In his book about psychology, Alter mentions every name is associated with demographic baggage (Drunk Tank Pink 9). This scenario is probably the most desirable but also the most elusive one. In this scenario, France and Germany will take the leap forward and lead the group towards fiscal and political union. Countries in the region will reduce their debt and liberalize their labor markets allowing free movement of workers between borders. Still it is not clear the effects of the bonds on the economy, but it will be necessary to create a European Treasury Department that can issue and control them. Also, to promote a greater control by the European institutions, there is a need to establish mechanisms of supervision of the financial system. These tools will encourage greater collaboration and connection between economies to prevent a future crisis. The European Union will also invest in long term projects in the productive sectors to promote competitiveness, research and innovation in the European economy. The activity I chose to do was to see if he could identify a set of flashcards that had colors and shapes on them. I wanted to see if the child could say both what the color was and also say the shape that was associated with the color. I was trying to test not only his language abilities, but his ability to differentiate between the color and the shape. When I tried to administer the activity he kind of just looked at me and continued to play with his toys or something else. I finally got him to actually engage in the activity afterwards, which was great, but he still wasn t fully engaged with it. Tony Brown knew most of the colors and spoke them, but not completely clear. After a while I could eventually make out the word he was trying to say. He also knew the shapes, but when he saw a circle he said ball , or he just said the corresponding color instead of the shape. • 27. The Uk Constitution And The United States Often the UK constitution is asserted to be the most unique in the world, as its sources are a piece of historical significance as they come from great British heritage. From the case of Jackson and others v Her Majesty s Attorney General, Lord Steyn stated that We do not in the UK have an uncontrolled constitution. In general terms a person may judge the UK constitution to be uncontrolled due to it being unwritten, as it is derived from a wide range of sources. Which vary from common law to international treaties. However on the other side of the spectre, a written constitution is one like the USA s, embodied into a single document. Putting aside the fact that the UK constitution is from a variety of different sources, it must be verified that it has worked successfully to this date from 1689 when the supremacy of parliament over the crown was introduced, following the glorious revolution. It can also be said that, why would the UK constitution be classed as uncontrolled, if it has worked for hundreds of years and it is still going strong. A constitution is generally there for one purpose, it sets out the framework and principal functions of the organs of government and by setting out these functions the UK has been growing and adapting. We in other words have an evolutionary constitution. If it ever came to a time where a written constitution was enacted, it would indeed disrupt the infrastructure of the UK as they are inflexible. Comparing The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven Based on the experiences and hardships of Native Americans in the United States, the stories featured in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie display the escapades of Victor and a few others such as Junior and Thomas. The collection of tales shows various stereotypes of Native Americans that the author has identified with as aspects of his life such as drinking problems within families. One of the main focuses of the book as a whole that was present in almost every story was the relationship between Native Americans and other races. The Natives in the story almost always inherently clashed with the whites of the story, however all was not well between other minorities and even other Natives interacting with the protagonists. Furthermore, narrator s strategy for presenting Miss Emily Grierson s story when Homer Barron mysteriously disappears and his remains are found after Emily dies years later on a bed which Emily appears to have slept in as well in upstairs room of Emily s house, Nebeker concludes that by abetting if not aiding these acts, the narrative we, representative of the Old South, triumphs over the later they, representative of the New South. A closer look at Bierce s An Occurrence at Old Creek Bridge reveals a number of ambiguous passages that sound normal in the flow of narrative about Farquhar s escape, but can also depict the actual horrors of dying at the end of a rope. In these ambiguous passages, Bierce s narrator makes a point about the relativity of time and about how people tend to take for granted the valuable things in life until threatened with their removal. These synthesized plastic polymers have a plethora of functions and benefits, but its most important function is its use in improving water quality. The College Committee on Sustainability has already invested funds in producing and experimenting with these PHA fibrous mats to improve water quality. In a laboratory controlled environment, the PHA fibrous mat successfully denitrifies the water at a quick rate. From an incubation completed in the Keck Lab, the experimental fibrous mat of PHA is shown to be able to drop the nitrate levels in water to about one fourth of the original concentration in less than 20 hours. Due to the success in a small scale lab experiment, there is a need for me to test the PHA fibrous mat in a large scale environment to successfully assess its denitrifying effectiveness. According to the Oxford dictionary (2010) one definition of community is; all the people who live in a particular area, country etc. when talked about as a group (p.301). The definition of a community however is dependent on those who are defining it. Communities can also be defined as the grouping of individuals who share similar qualities such as religion, race, etc. or who feel a sense of belonging to a specific group. With the many variations of communities it is unsurprising that a communityand its definition do not always remain the same.
