During the meeting, Mr. Lucio stated that Ms. Williams had worked at Casa Ruby before they

Casa Ruby may have some private funding that is being used to pay Ms. Williams to continue
working with the organization. Mr. Lucio mentioned that there may have been an issue with Ms.

management at Casa Ruby believed the Ms. Williams past should be overlooked in that she had

Rae Swent s The Red River Campaign
The historical play, The Red River Campaign written by Rae Swent was about ten thousand
Union soldiers invading a vulnerable Alexandria, Louisiana. The play s narrative was from the
point of view of Union generals, Confederate generals, and a teenage boy, who questions his father
about the Civil War. Duncan Graham, played by Ray Pence, begins asking his father, George
Mason Graham, about the Union occupation in Alexandria during the Civil War. While, there is
the presences of an adolescent son, the only other characters are older and middle aged men. The
play is the history of the Red River campaign and written from those who planned its strategy, but
the lack of diversity in gender, age, and characters that were not soliders made the production stale.
Also, Duncan and George Graham speaking to one another directly, and all the other characters
directly address the audience makes the narrative inconsistent and at times hard to understand.
While the audience might understand that Nathaniel Banks led the Union s army and David Dixon
Porter led the Union s naval fleet but the awkward narrative made it hard to understand details like
battle plans and battle locations.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The play s purpose was to educate the audience of Louisiana s historical battle site Tyrone
Plantation, and raise funds for its upkeep. The evening was through reservations only, and was
twenty five dollars for admission. Not terrible pricing for a charity dinner theater, but the play s
production had low quality acting and awkward staging, despite the theme being an interesting idea.
Staging was limited and held on the third floor of the Plantation, however illuminating the actors

After The War Of 1812 Reduced Sectionalism Essay
Essay Topic #1 An increase in nationalism after the War of 1812 reduced sectionalism and helped to
further unite the nation. However, divisions over slavery, culture and lifestyles and economic
structures caused a dramatic increase in sectionalism. These regional difference primarily formed
between the northern and southern regions of the country. Therefore, regional differences
significantly increased in the United Statesbetween 1800 and 1848. One of the biggest divisions
between the north and south was slavery. The south needed slaves to tend to crops such as cotton,
which became a major part of the south s economy after the invention of the cotton gin. The north,
meanwhile, gained an increasingly large number of abolitionists opposing slavery. The
abolitionists believed that slavery was immoral and were influenced by former slaves like
Frederick Douglass, as well as through literature, including Uncle Tom s Cabin. Although the
divisions over slavery would not end until later on agreements like the Missouri Compromise of
1820 reduced tensions by preventing any new states above the 36 30 parallel from joining the
union as a slave state. Another major... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the south s economy was centered around agriculture most southerners were used to living in
rural farming areas. This led to southerners, including Thomas Jefferson, to encourage the formation
of an agrarian society in which everyone can be an independent, self sustaining farmer. Jefferson
believed that the Louisiana Purchase would provide enough land for an agrarian society to exist,
despite such a purchase being unconstitutional. The north, however, did not a favorable climate or
soil to grow crops and tended to live in more urban areas where manufacturing flourished. These
differences increased as westward expansion continued and the north wanted to create industrialized
cities while the south wanted to expand their agrarian

Legalization of All Drugs
Legalize Drugs! I know what you re thinking, are you crazy!
The debate over the legalization of drugs continues to disturb the American public. Such an issue
stirs up moral and religious beliefs, beliefs that are contrary to what Americans should believe. I
ask all of you to please keep an open mind and hear me out on this very controversial subject. All of
us have in some way or another been affected by drug, whether it is a family member or the
economic burden on society. Americans often take at face value the assumptions that drugs cause
addiction, which leads to crime. This is true but abundant evidence exists to support the view that
legalizing illicit drugs can help solve the drug problem in America. There is not a way to stop ...

The day after legalization, the honest kids will have the last laugh. The pushers will be out of a
job, unemployed. What could be done is instead of giving the pusher the profit; we can put the
money into the hands of the government. Let the government put it into education for drugs or
in to well needed social programs. The government would increase revenue in many ways. The
first way would be that the majority of inmates are drug offenders; an inmate costs the
government approximately 20,000 (Fedral burea of proison facts, internet). There would be a lot
of money being saved by the government, there would be no more Drug Enforcement Agencies,
which cost the government a lot of money to train, but also the equipment and wages, not to
mention the state and local departments. There would be no more lives wasted on trying to fight
the drug war. One might ask if drugs were legalized, would that lead to more addicts? There is a
chance, especially at first. Though some say it would be like the forbidden fruit theory, if it were
legal it would take the thrill out of getting them, so that could discourage drug use. But it is
important to understand that we have so many addicts today because pushers are doing their jobs
quite well: pushing drugs on people who otherwise would not likely use them. They glamorize the
drugs, give them away free,

Iraq Essay
To be successful in Iraq, and in any war for that matter, our use of force must be tied to a political
objective more complete than the ouster of a regime. To date, that has not happened in Iraq. It is
time it did.
In the past week the situation in Iraq has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. While we may have
differed on how we went to war, Americans of all political persuasions are united in our
determination to succeed. The extremists attacking our forces should know they will not succeed
in dividing America, or in sapping American resolve, or in forcing the premature withdrawal of
U.S. troops. Our country is committed to help the Iraqis build a stable, peaceful and pluralistic
society. No matter who is elected president in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In recent weeks the administration in effect acknowledging the failure of its own efforts has turned
to U.N. representative Lakhdar Brahimi to develop a formula for an interim Iraqi government that
each of the major Iraqi factions can accept. It is vital that Brahimi accomplish this mission, but the
odds are long, because tensions have been allowed to build and distrust among the various Iraqi
groups runs deep. The United States can bolster Brahimi s limited leverage by saying in advance
that we will support any plan he proposes that gains the support of Iraqi leaders. Moving forward,
the administration must make the United Nations a full partner responsible for developing Iraq s
transition to a new constitution and government. We also need to renew our effort to attract
international support in the form of boots on the ground to create a climate of security in Iraq. We
need more troops and more people who can train Iraqi troops and assist Iraqi police.
We should urge NATO to create a new out of area operation for Iraq under the lead of a U.S.
commander. This would help us obtain more troops from major powers. The events of the past
week will make foreign governments extremely reluctant to put their citizens at risk. That is why
international authority for managing the remainder of the Iraqi transition must match international
acceptance of responsibility for stabilizing Iraq. The United Nations, not the United States, should
be the

It helps you grow and improve all throughout your career. Getting feedback, whether it s from
your employer/supervisor, a college or someone under your charge, also helps to identify parts
of your personal development that you may have missed or have overlooked. After all, we re
only human and humans make mistakes. Because of this, it s important to go about getting
feedback from others the right way. Walking up to a co worker and asking their opinion on your
competency might have unforeseen complications they might dislike you personally and give
you false information about your working capacity, they might lie to you to avoid hurting your
feelings or it could erupt into an argument and disrupt important work. In any case, it s necessary
to provide a platform to the recipients to conduct their feedback. An easy example is to have a
general feedback day or meeting for the entire work force or work group, where everyone comes
together and gives each other constructive criticism in a relaxed and friendly demeanor. Hosting
a one on one, private feedback meetings is another good idea that allows for a greater analysis of
your competency. BY talking to each person individually, you reduces any stress or anxiety the
person may have and gives them the confidence to speak their mind clearly. It s important to
mention that you take in all the feedback presented to you, positive and negative. It s never easy
to take negative feedback, but both are required for you to truly improve, so it is necessary to
take any negative feedback with a positive attitude. You can always improve, so it s imperative
that you think along that line. This is also a good chance to give the individual some feedback
yourself, try putting any negative feedback you may have in between two points of positive
feedback, like

Road Trip Into Tradition Research Paper
Road Trip into Tradition
Every year, my family makes an effort to travel across the country from our hometown in
Tennessee to southern California to visit family. Our family has celebrated many traditions over
the years, but this is one that means the most to me. Also, some of the most memorable moments
of my life happened during this tradition. It all started when I was around 4 years old. My family
decided to move away from the big city in Southern California to a more country setting more
suitable for raising children. Ever since, we have made the trip back and forth, only missing one
year since. This unique tradition has helped me to develop to appreciate my family and bring us
closer together.
Our trek starts in Tennessee, and goes through five states before reaching California, at the other
end of the continent. Arkansas is mundane driving through, with nothing really interesting to look
at and see, save lots of trees and cows. Oklahoma is just one big plain, making it even worse than
the previous state. It also has wind turbines, which is the only object to break the monotony of the
landscape. Texas has tons of oil fields filled with the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also the game where we just pick a different kind of truck, and see who can count to one
hundred of that kind. These games really help pass the time, and also are really fun when going
through a state as boring as New Mexico. My favorite game would always be Uno, a card game
where each player tries to get rid of their hand of cards first. Sometimes though, it can cause some
tension in the backseat, when one of us has all four wild cards. We would play something like
bloody knuckles, but our mother never really liked the end result of that. The moments we share in
this tradition of ours help us be not just literally close, but also

Software Security Is The Biggest E Commerce Retailer
Introduction
Software security is a concept of engineering software and it goes on functioning appropriately
under malicious attack. Majority of technologies accept the significance of this undertaking, but
they require assistance in understanding how to confront it. Best practices for software security
leverage the sound software engineering practices that include thinking about the security primarily
in the software lifecycle, understanding and knowing common threats (inclusive of pitfalls and
flaws that are language based), design for security and subjecting every software artifact to
comprehensive objective testing and risk analyses.
Security is an extent of the ability of the system for protecting information and data from
unauthorized access however still giving access to systems and people that are authorized. Attack
can be seen as an action taken against a computer system having the intent of causing harm, to it
and this may take numerous forms. It may refer to attempts aimed at accessing services or data, or
modification of data, or might be an intention of denying services for legitimate users.

Forced Equality In Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
In 1961 Kurt Vonnegut wrote a short story titled Harrison Bergeron. The story starts out, The Year
was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren t only equal before God and the law. They
were equal every which way. (Vonnegut) Forced equality is the major theme in this short story,
taking many features away from the characters including, their independent thought, their
individuality, and their constitutional rights. Harrison Bergerontakes place in the future where
everyone is subjected to wearing devices, also known as handicaps, that takes away unequaled,
unsurpassed characteristics of the each person, in order to make every person average and
equal to one another. Two of the main characters George and Hazel Bergeron are the first
example of this ruling that we see in the story. George is described as intelligent and strong and
therefore is subjected to many handicaps where his wife, Hazel Bergeron is considered to be
average and therefore is not subjected to any handicaps. Benjamin Reed describes Hazel as, so
average even her name is the eye color between brown and blue. Her natural mental state is
equivalent to George s natural mind. (7) Reed later describes their son, Harrison Bergeron as,
[possessing] amazing strength, god like beauty and stature and (presumably) a piercing intelligence,

Analysis Paralysis Essay
Analysis paralysis is a term most Executive Recruiters recognize. It strikes unsuspecting new and
seasoned recruiters alike. When one concentrates on the possibilities of what can go wrong during a
search, or worry about their performance, they tend to stop taking action. When activity stops
placements stop.
Action is the secret to keeping analysis paralysis from destroying a career. Focus on the end result.
A successful result is when a candidate is hired, starts their new job, and payment is received. God
bless fee payments! Engaging candidates and employers in conversation is the highest priority.

they are to encounter the problem.
Practice, practice, practice! Forget about mistakes because they re part of learning to be a great
recruiter. Take a deep breath and move forward. Day by day mistakes become fewer. Those who
suffer from analysis paralysis tend to be highly self critical. They want to do everything well and
are used to seeing themselves as highly competent. We ve all been there.
Self correction is built into the recruitment process. Headhunters become highly intuitive. They ask
questions all day long and those who learn to listen carefully develop the ability to ask the right

However if the value of stock index is decreasing it indicates that in general corporate in the
country may be facing trouble. Increasing value of stock index also means that investors are
gaining faith in the economy.
Stock index can be constructed for entire world called global indices like S P global100, MSCI
global (MSCI which include over 6000 stocks from different parts of the developed world), for a
particular continent like (S P Latin America 500), for entire country like (sensex and nifty for
India), or for a particular sector like (BSE BANKEX for top banking companies in India).
How stock index is calculated?
A stock index is created by selecting a group of high performing stocks. Like the index of nation
stock exchange (India) is nifty50 and it comprises of 50 stocks. So if the value of the nifty index
goes up it means that most of the stocks in nifty are performing well.
A stock index can be calculated in two ways
1.By considering the price of the component stocks alone. This method is called the price weighted
method.
2.By considering the market value or size of the company called the capitalization weighted method.
Mostly for calculating the value of a index weighted market capitalization of the companies is used.
Example of index calculation:
Lets us see how the value of a stock index is calculated by taking the example of hypothetical
stocks.
Consider the base index value is set to 100 for the stocks.

How Natural Law Enforces Human Rights
Natural Law enforces human rights. When we look at abortions laws we see between a legal
system based on the legal theory of natural law the law that comes from God s nature and
inherent right and wrong as He defines it furthermore a legal system based on legal positivism
(law is derived from whatever man says is law no inherent right and wrong). Prior to the turn of
the 20th century, legal philosophy from whence laws were derived in the Western world was
based upon a natural law theory. A belief that there was an inherent right and wrong based on God
s principles. In the late 1800 s early 1900 s the legal philosophy began to shift and is now
predominantly based upon legal positivismwhich says that law is only right or wrong because man
has made it so. Natural law is based on the character of God; thus, like Him, it does not change as
man changes.
The importance of how natural law enforces human rights
Natural Law shapes conduct, forces specific conduct, and is designed by God to influence moral
behavior. Natural law imposes morality which enforces the protection of human rights. Natural
law gives a person the free will to do whatever they please as long as that free will does not harm
others or violates the Natural laws created by God. Nonetheless, God is the source of Natural Law
with an expression of moral order through the word of God. Society and government were not
central conceptions in the life of a people governed by God through his prophets,

How to Lead a Healthy Lifestyle
How can we lead a healthy lifestyle ? A healthy lifestyle means maintaining a balanced and
nutritious diet as well as engaging in sports or other fitness related activities. A healthy diet
alone however is inadequate to ensure a healthy body as physical activity helps to keep one in
shape and free of sickness and disease. According to the World Health Organization, only one in
ten people exercise regularly and a majority do not follow a healthy diet. The main culprit is our
penchant for junk food as can be seen from the popularity of fast food chains and other western
eateries. even local foods such as fried noodles, friend rice and snacks and savories are laden with
fat and calories. Thus, consuming this type of food on a daily... Show more content on

The Scarlet Letter, By Nathanial Hawthorne
Envisage living in a community where one could only be intimate with their husband. Sounds
insane, right? Though being sexually active with more than one partner in a lifetime is moderately
common in today s society, it was severely looked down upon in the 1800s. In The Scarlet Letter,
Nathanial Hawthorne communicates the story of Hester Prynne, an adulteress. Hester Prynne lived
in a Puritan Society in which women were held to high, difficult, and unjust standards by men.
Evidently, she undergoes unusual punishments for her infidelities against her estranged husband.
She forcibly wears an embroidered, scarlet letter A on her breast for the remainder of her life.
Though physically benign, its call of attention to Hester s transgression is emotionally straining. As
a man or woman, adultery must always be perceived as improper and unlawful. However, the author
exhibits transcendentalist values when one can conclude that Hawthorne s words were not
demeaning Hester, but more so commending her. His execution of rhetorical devices applauds
Hester s individuality in a conforming society. Through the author s implementation of diction to
illuminate Hester and debase the rest of society, manipulation of symbolism to compliment Hester s
individuality, and application of irony to manifest Hester s gained dignity from rebelling,
Hawthorne illustrates Hester s journey in a culture against change as one of dauntlessness, and
conveys his purpose that individuality is precious.

Essay on Everyday Use
Everyday Use
When we meet our narrator, the mother of Maggie and Dee, she is waiting in the yard with
Maggie for Dee to visit. The mother takes simple pleasure in such a pleasant place where, anyone
can come back and look up at the elm tree and wait for the breezes that never come inside the
house. (Walker 383) This is her basic attitude, the simple everyday pleasures that have nothing to do
with great ideas, cultural heritage or family or racial histories. She later reveals to us that she is
even more the rough rural woman since she, can kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man.
(Walker 383) Hardly a woman one would expect to have much patience with hanging historical
quilts on a wall. Daughter Maggie is very much the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the quilts has a tiny piece of blue cloth from Great Grandpa Ezra s Civil War uniform.
Mother offers Dee two other quilts instead because the ones Dee wants are promised to Maggie
for when Maggie marries, but Dee won t settle for those since the other quilts are not as old and are
not entirely hand made. Maggie even volunteers to give up her claim on the quilts, but Mother
refuses to allow that.
Just before Dee leaves, she tells her mother, You just don t understand...your heritage. ( Walker 389)
After Dee drives away, Mother and Maggie remained in the yard, just enjoying, until it was time to
go in the house and go to bed. (Walker 389)
The essential question being explored by Alice Walker is the conflict between someone who has
recently discovered her family and racial heritage and wants to preserve its symbols (Dee) and
someone who has lived intimately with those symbols in their utilitarian sense (Momma). Dee
has left the old rural homestead and its backward ways behind her. Indeed, when she first left for
school, Momma offered Dee one of the old quilts that Dee now covets, but Dee refused because
they were old fashioned, out of style. (Walker 388) Now, Dee returns home looking for heritage
treasures which she hopes to rescue from being used and worn out or being left in the bottom of a
trunk. This all rings true with her adopting her new African name and her male companion who
sports similar attributes. This story was

What Are The Responsibilities Of A Well Being Citizen
Responsibilities of a well being citizen In this world, controlled and managed by people, we

healthier and ever green, the citizens should fulfill their responsibilities. Although we are very
busy in our hectic lives, but if we all contribute little bit the country will become more likely place

Handout 1: Questions for Triumph of the Will by Leni Riefenstahl (1934/35)
1. Why does this film begin with a view of the clouds from the cockpit of an airplane? What might
this image symbolize?
I believe that the film began with a view of the clouds from the cockpit probably because Hitler
was on the plane and it showed that he felt superior to everyone down below, or that he was finally
in the midst of completing what he wanted which was to have a perfect Germany under his reign.
2. What impression do you get of Germany from the aerial shots of the city of Nuremberg? What
general image does the director Leni Riefenstahl give of Germany as a country?
Most of Germany was extremely supportive of Hitler. I saw this toddler not ... Show more content

They all got along well together, and had each other s back. The film shows one soldier scrubbing
another soldiers back. Also there were a lot of chants and uniform sayings they repeated over and
over, especially when Hitler was there. They paid homage to the Nazi comrades that had died.
5. What pictures of youth and masculinity are portrayed in this film?
This film definitely contributes to the youth and masculinity. The youth was taught at a very
young age to salute Hitler the appropriate way. Like I stated earlier, there was a toddler who was
caught saluting Hitler. The young men who were becoming soldiers were now dedicating their
lives to their country. One young man said, We are the Reich s young men, so this shows that
they consciously acknowledged who they were and for what they were called to do. As for
masculinity, I believe that all men were sought to be equal because the film showed men serving
the soldiers, so they served each other and they had no problem doing so.
6. What aspects of this film fit into the documentary film genre, and what aspects appear more
purely propagandistic?
The most propagandistic part of the film was when different men were giving speeches when Von
Hindenburg died. They all had glittering and nice things to say about Germany and how the
people and their loyalty were making all of it happen. It was giving Germany a sense of pride

Congress As Part Of The Fair Labor Standards Act
Congress as part of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) instituted minimum wage back in 1938.
The first minimum wage was at $0.25 per hour and the last minimum wage increase occurred in
2007. Over the past 65 years the minimum wage has varied considerably in inflation adjusted
buying power. It has averaged $6.60 an hour in purchasing power in 2013 dollars, but it has ranged
from a low of $3.09 an hour in late 1948 to a high of $8.67 an hour in 1968. Today s minimum wage
buys somewhat more than the minimum wage has historically, although it remains over a dollar an
hour below its historical high. In addition to the federal minimum wage, nearly all states within the
United States have their own minimum wage laws with the exception of South Carolina,
Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Sixteen states have a minimum wage that is higher
than the federal minimum wage. The first moves to legislate wages did not set minimum wages,
rather the laws created arbitration boards and councils to resolve labor conflicts before the recourse
to strikes. Minimum wage is raised usually when there is a time of healthy economic growth and
low unemployment. In 1990, Congress enacted a minimum wage hike that took effect on April 1 of
that year, when unemployment stood at 5.4 percent. Congress voted to raise the minimum wage
again in August 1996 when unemployment stood at 5.1 percent. The next vote to raise the
minimum wage occurred in May 2007, when unemployment stood at 4.4 percent.

Art Therapy
Art Therapy: Treatment for Anxiety and Depression in Adults Art has been a part of our culture
since the very beginning of time and has been used for many different purposes. The creation
and viewing of art has the ability to transport us to another time or place, to calm us, to help us
express our emotions and define our sense of self. It is only natural then to wonder how we can
use these emotions towards art to learn more about a person and their situation as well as how to
use art to help someone cope with any harmful emotions or difficulties they may be dealing with.
The field of art therapyaims to do just this. Art therapy employs the use of many different mediums
and techniques such as painting, modeling, and drawing as a unique way to diagnose a mental
condition. It also uses these mediums as a method to help alleviate and manage harmful symptoms
by helping patients to de stress and express their emotions in a healthy manner, especially if they
are unable (or unwilling) to verbalize their thoughts and feelings. For adults with anxietyand/or
depression, art therapy has shown to be a wonderful coping mechanism, helping them to relax and
develop a healthier self.

Emoticons are used in text messages and emails. Given how the use of such graphics has permeated

Essay On Water Supply System
In a recent proposal the state of California has decided we need to take further action into protecting
our water reliability. Officials are suggesting that we should spend $20 50 billion into creating a two
new tunnels known as the California WaterFix system from the Sacramento River to the Delta
pumping plants in the Southern Delta, with funding being allocated from both agricultural and
urban users. Although there are some benefits from creating a new water project, it would have far
more negative externalities when it comes to economical, environmental, and corrupt
agribusinesses. To invest in a completely new water supplysystem is economically unreasonable.

The California Waterfix proponents often mention that building the new tunnels will be safer and
more reliable towards the fisheries and the ocean outflows. However, the co plan Bay Delta
Conservation Plan is deceitful in its true intentions. By shifting the Sacramento River with the flow
of fresh water, it would lead to an even greater rise in sea levels along with climate change. By
focusing our investments into restructuring the current Delta levees with an increase in outflows
and state of the art fish screens, it would preserve the endangered marine life. Also, there is an
ongoing fear within Southern California residents with the topic of earthquakes, finding comfort
with the reliability of the new Waterfix systems. In the case of the surrounding areas of the Delta, it
s almost impossible for the system to be completely protected against water breaks. Investing in new
tunnels won t change anything in how our system will put up against a natural disaster. The main
audience that benefits from building the new Waterfix system are the agribusinesses and oil
companies. In particular, the Kern County Water Agency, Metropolitan Water District, and the
Westlands Water District are big proponents in building the tunnels for their own personal gain,
even though they already receive plenty of water from the Bay Delta. Instead of paying directly for
the regulation of the WaterFix tunnels, taxpayer money would subsidize water for private

Essay 3: The Myth of the Melting Pot
13 November 2015
The Myth of the Melting Pot
It is popularly believed that America is the biggest and most famous melting pot in the world.
American history began with waves of immigrants bringing their own traditions, and culture to a
new country. America is not the only country that is known as a melting pot, other countries like
Russia are also practicing the melting pot; however, America is the only place that has such a
diverse population and manages to make it work. Social media around the world, especially
public relations of the American government has been working hard for years to make a uniform
state that works equally for everybody, without taking in to consideration who they are or where
they came from. However, since the beginning of that theory, we have seen a lot of prejudice
between social, religious, and national aspects around the world. Let s us consider whether or not
the melting pot truly works in both countries or if it is just a myth?
First of all, let us try to understand what it means to be prejudice. The dictionary defines prejudice
as unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic,
racial, social, or religious group. According to the article Causes of prejudice by Vincent N. Parrillo
prejudicial attitudes combine negatively and positively in society. Additionally, he considers

The Piano Lesson Essay
It s being here now that s important. There s no past and there s no future. Time is a very

Although things can come from the past, they must be put to use in the know, and although we like
to plan for the future, we need to try and make an impact now. What George Harrison is trying to

This emphasises how Macbeth s ambition itself may be a horse that can be uncontrollable and
has a mind of its own. The horse may refers to Macbeth s journey, the finish of which is at killing

be easily understood by the audience. Ambition may also be pride, which is condemned in the
Bible: the pride of man shall bring him low and pride goeth before destruction, and a high mind
before the fall. . This shows how Macbeth is continuing to think about God as he feels his

An independent variable, which is what is varied during the experiment, is what will affect the
dependent variable. A change in the independent variable directly causes a change in the dependent
variable, and you can only have one independent variable. The independent variable is the behavior
of one participant that triggers the behaviorof another participant. In the first study, the alcoholic
beverageand conversation topic selected by Participant #1 is the independent variable. In the second

A dependent variable is what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the

Drug trafficking is an international trade entailing the planting, manufacture, disbursement, as well
as sale of substances that are subject to drug ban rules. It is amid the most profitable unlawful

The criminal organizations are large and widespread all through the nations of their operation,
which makes it possible to convince farmers on the need to cultivate opium and coca. Because
many of these rural farmers are poor, it is easy for drug traffickers to convince them, via incentives,
on the financial benefits arising from drug manufacturing. Drug traffickers in Afghan have a close
association with terrorist organizations, as well as insurgents like the al Qaeda and Taliban.
Research demonstrates that the Taliban and al Qaeda generate a lot of income from unlawful drug
trade in Afghanistan. The groups are an international threat, when dealing with the problem of
crime management, which makes it even difficult for the Afghan administration to ban the criminal
organization groups involvement in heroin trade. In South America, drug trafficking is an
organized business, where different groups are in charge of manufacture, while other distribute the

An Argument Against An Unjust Dismissal Essay
Introduction The notion of employers not having to defend against an unjust dismissal has
come under assault in public debate. The court system in New Zealand (NZ) yet fully upholds
the right of employees to seek justice against an unjustified dismissal by an employer. However,
this essay acclaims that all employers in NZ should have the right to fire without having to
defend against an unjust dismissal , as the benefits of employment at will outweighs the costs.
This counter argument is support by empirical research on the exemptions under the proposed
doctrine, the mutual benefit it brings employees and employers, the interpretations of the law
by the courts, and the evident lack of support for the current system implemented within New
Zealand. Despite the emotional appeal of employees allegedly abusing employees, there are
compelling reasons to settle employment at will within NZ. For most of NZs laws, there is less
freedom of an employer to dismiss an employee on grounds they seem are fair. The law can be
very ambiguous, because ultimately the decision is not based on the face value of the law, but
rather the interpretation and implication by the courts. Definition of Unjust Dismissal An unjust
dismissal is defined as the removal of an employee without a fair and genuine reason. Under NZ
legislation, it is recognized as an act where an employee finds themselves removed unfairly. It is
also known as a wrongful dismissal where there is a breach of agreement, and

The Trinity And The Kingdom Of God
Preamble
Over the past few decades there has been much written, from both Catholic and Protestant
perspectives, on the doctrine of the Trinity . The consensus among these various writings has been
that, although the doctrine is important and central to the Christian faith and theology, it has been
neglected and made obscure, and has become a complex and theological technical term . This
obscurity renders the doctrine of the Trinity impossible to understand or apply to ordinary life.
Karl Rahner in his observations insists that modern Christians are almost mere monotheists , only
paying lip service to the doctrine of Trinity but lacking in the actual practices . Rahner s
observation has been widely acknowledged with the desire being to make a change .
The need to place the doctrine of the Trinity at the heart of Christianity would be considered the
epistemological and methodological safe ground upon which other doctrines are based. Since
JГєrgen Moltmann s book The Trinity and the Kingdom of Godwas published in 1980, the
propagation of a social understanding of God has gained propulsion. Kilby says that such an

The play s narrative was from the point of view of Union generals, Confederate generals, and a teenage boy, who questions his father about the Civil War. Duncan Graham, played by Ray Pence, begins asking his father, George Mason Graham, about the Union occupation in Alexandria during the Civil War. While, there is the presences of an adolescent son, the only other characters are older and middle aged men. The play is the history of the Red River campaign and written from those who planned its strategy, but the lack of diversity in gender, age, and characters that were not soliders made the production stale. Also, Duncan and George Graham speaking to one another directly, and all the other characters directly address the audience makes the narrative inconsistent and at times hard to understand. While the audience might understand that Nathaniel Banks led the Union s army and David Dixon Porter led the Union s naval fleet but the awkward narrative made it hard to understand details like battle plans and battle locations.... • 4. After The War Of 1812 Reduced Sectionalism Essay Essay Topic #1 An increase in nationalism after the War of 1812 reduced sectionalism and helped to further unite the nation. However, divisions over slavery, culture and lifestyles and economic structures caused a dramatic increase in sectionalism. These regional difference primarily formed between the northern and southern regions of the country. Therefore, regional differences significantly increased in the United Statesbetween 1800 and 1848. One of the biggest divisions between the north and south was slavery. The south needed slaves to tend to crops such as cotton, which became a major part of the south s economy after the invention of the cotton gin. The north, meanwhile, gained an increasingly large number of abolitionists opposing slavery. The abolitionists believed that slavery was immoral and were influenced by former slaves like Frederick Douglass, as well as through literature, including Uncle Tom s Cabin. Although the divisions over slavery would not end until later on agreements like the Missouri Compromise of 1820 reduced tensions by preventing any new states above the 36 30 parallel from joining the union as a slave state. Such an issue stirs up moral and religious beliefs, beliefs that are contrary to what Americans should believe. I ask all of you to please keep an open mind and hear me out on this very controversial subject. All of us have in some way or another been affected by drug, whether it is a family member or the economic burden on society. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The day after legalization, the honest kids will have the last laugh. The pushers will be out of a job, unemployed. What could be done is instead of giving the pusher the profit; we can put the money into the hands of the government. Let the government put it into education for drugs or in to well needed social programs. The government would increase revenue in many ways. The first way would be that the majority of inmates are drug offenders; an inmate costs the government approximately 20,000 (Fedral burea of proison facts, internet). There would be a lot of money being saved by the government, there would be no more Drug Enforcement Agencies, which cost the government a lot of money to train, but also the equipment and wages, not to mention the state and local departments. There would be no more lives wasted on trying to fight the drug war. One might ask if drugs were legalized, would that lead to more addicts? There is a chance, especially at first. Though some say it would be like the forbidden fruit theory, if it were legal it would take the thrill out of getting them, so that could discourage drug use. It is vital that Brahimi accomplish this mission, but the odds are long, because tensions have been allowed to build and distrust among the various Iraqi groups runs deep. The United States can bolster Brahimi s limited leverage by saying in advance that we will support any plan he proposes that gains the support of Iraqi leaders. Moving forward, the administration must make the United Nations a full partner responsible for developing Iraq s transition to a new constitution and government. We also need to renew our effort to attract international support in the form of boots on the ground to create a climate of security in Iraq. We need more troops and more people who can train Iraqi troops and assist Iraqi police. We should urge NATO to create a new out of area operation for Iraq under the lead of a U.S. commander. This would help us obtain more troops from major powers. The events of the past week will make foreign governments extremely reluctant to put their citizens at risk. When we look at abortions laws we see between a legal system based on the legal theory of natural law the law that comes from God s nature and inherent right and wrong as He defines it furthermore a legal system based on legal positivism (law is derived from whatever man says is law no inherent right and wrong). Prior to the turn of the 20th century, legal philosophy from whence laws were derived in the Western world was based upon a natural law theory. Though being sexually active with more than one partner in a lifetime is moderately common in today s society, it was severely looked down upon in the 1800s. In The Scarlet Letter, Nathanial Hawthorne communicates the story of Hester Prynne, an adulteress. Hester Prynne lived in a Puritan Society in which women were held to high, difficult, and unjust standards by men. Evidently, she undergoes unusual punishments for her infidelities against her estranged husband. She forcibly wears an embroidered, scarlet letter A on her breast for the remainder of her life. Though physically benign, its call of attention to Hester s transgression is emotionally straining. As a man or woman, adultery must always be perceived as improper and unlawful. However, the author exhibits transcendentalist values when one can conclude that Hawthorne s words were not demeaning Hester, but more so commending her. His execution of rhetorical devices applauds Hester s individuality in a conforming society. Through the author s implementation of diction to illuminate Hester and debase the rest of society, manipulation of symbolism to compliment Hester s individuality, and application of irony to manifest Hester s gained dignity from rebelling, Hawthorne illustrates Hester s journey in a culture against change as one of dauntlessness, and conveys his purpose that individuality is precious. Dee has left the old rural homestead and its backward ways behind her. Indeed, when she first left for school, Momma offered Dee one of the old quilts that Dee now covets, but Dee refused because they were old fashioned, out of style. (Walker 388) Now, Dee returns home looking for heritage treasures which she hopes to rescue from being used and worn out or being left in the bottom of a trunk. This all rings true with her adopting her new African name and her male companion who sports similar attributes. This story was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What might this image symbolize? I believe that the film began with a view of the clouds from the cockpit probably because Hitler was on the plane and it showed that he felt superior to everyone down below, or that he was finally in the midst of completing what he wanted which was to have a perfect Germany under his reign. 2. The youth was taught at a very young age to salute Hitler the appropriate way. Like I stated earlier, there was a toddler who was caught saluting Hitler. The young men who were becoming soldiers were now dedicating their lives to their country. One young man said, We are the Reich s young men, so this shows that they consciously acknowledged who they were and for what they were called to do. As for masculinity, I believe that all men were sought to be equal because the film showed men serving the soldiers, so they served each other and they had no problem doing so. 6. What aspects of this film fit into the documentary film genre, and what aspects appear more purely propagandistic? The most propagandistic part of the film was when different men were giving speeches when Von Hindenburg died. They all had glittering and nice things to say about Germany and how the people and their loyalty were making all of it happen. It was giving Germany a sense of pride ... In addition to the federal minimum wage, nearly all states within the United States have their own minimum wage laws with the exception of South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Sixteen states have a minimum wage that is higher than the federal minimum wage. The first moves to legislate wages did not set minimum wages, rather the laws created arbitration boards and councils to resolve labor conflicts before the recourse to strikes. Minimum wage is raised usually when there is a time of healthy economic growth and low unemployment. In 1990, Congress enacted a minimum wage hike that took effect on April 1 of that year, when unemployment stood at 5.4 percent. Congress voted to raise the minimum wage again in August 1996 when unemployment stood at 5.1 percent. Officials are suggesting that we should spend $20 50 billion into creating a two new tunnels known as the California WaterFix system from the Sacramento River to the Delta pumping plants in the Southern Delta, with funding being allocated from both agricultural and urban users. Although there are some benefits from creating a new water project, it would have far more negative externalities when it comes to economical, environmental, and corrupt agribusinesses. The California Waterfix proponents often mention that building the new tunnels will be safer and more reliable towards the fisheries and the ocean outflows. However, the co plan Bay Delta Conservation Plan is deceitful in its true intentions. By shifting the Sacramento River with the flow of fresh water, it would lead to an even greater rise in sea levels along with climate change. By focusing our investments into restructuring the current Delta levees with an increase in outflows and state of the art fish screens, it would preserve the endangered marine life. Also, there is an ongoing fear within Southern California residents with the topic of earthquakes, finding comfort with the reliability of the new Waterfix systems. In the case of the surrounding areas of the Delta, it s almost impossible for the system to be completely protected against water breaks. Investing in new tunnels won t change anything in how our system will put up against a natural disaster. The main audience that benefits from building the new Waterfix system are the agribusinesses and oil companies. In particular, the Kern County Water Agency, Metropolitan Water District, and the Westlands Water District are big proponents in building the tunnels for their own personal gain, even though they already receive plenty of water from the Bay Delta. • 38. An Argument Against An Unjust Dismissal Essay Introduction The notion of employers not having to defend against an unjust dismissal has come under assault in public debate. The court system in New Zealand (NZ) yet fully upholds the right of employees to seek justice against an unjustified dismissal by an employer. However, this essay acclaims that all employers in NZ should have the right to fire without having to defend against an unjust dismissal , as the benefits of employment at will outweighs the costs. This counter argument is support by empirical research on the exemptions under the proposed doctrine, the mutual benefit it brings employees and employers, the interpretations of the law by the courts, and the evident lack of support for the current system implemented within New Zealand. Despite the emotional appeal of employees allegedly abusing employees, there are compelling reasons to settle employment at will within NZ. For most of NZs laws, there is less freedom of an employer to dismiss an employee on grounds they seem are fair. The law can be very ambiguous, because ultimately the decision is not based on the face value of the law, but rather the interpretation and implication by the courts. Definition of Unjust Dismissal An unjust dismissal is defined as the removal of an employee without a fair and genuine reason. Under NZ legislation, it is recognized as an act where an employee finds themselves removed unfairly. It is also known as a wrongful dismissal where there is a breach of agreement, and ... The consensus among these various writings has been that, although the doctrine is important and central to the Christian faith and theology, it has been neglected and made obscure, and has become a complex and theological technical term . This obscurity renders the doctrine of the Trinity impossible to understand or apply to ordinary life. Karl Rahner in his observations insists that modern Christians are almost mere monotheists , only paying lip service to the doctrine of Trinity but lacking in the actual practices . American Jewish author and Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel in his critical speech, The Perils of Indifference, suggests his message about the inhumanity of indifference and how the importance of resistance is still relevant today. He develops his message by emphasizing how indifference is not only dangerous, but is the most evil characteristic of our society today. For example, Wiesel states in paragraph 13, Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. These truthful words assist in understanding the author s emphasis on indifference and its danger in our world; to add on, Wiesel also uses rhetorical questions throughout the text to highlight powerful and important users of indifference during the time period which he lived in. A questionfrom the speech in paragraph 20 is, Why the indifference, on the highest level, to the suffering of the victims? This line in the text exemplifies his belief that indifference is humannature if we do not rid ourselves of it. In brief, the author explains how indifference is tempting in society because of the degree of effort one puts into being indifferent, which is little to none. Wiesel s purpose is to inform the readers why indifference is inhumane and to create awareness of indifference in order to persuade those readers not to be indifferent to others.
