Does your digital strategy target ‘everybody’ or ‘all developers’? If so, beware! Most successful programs start with a focused strategy targeting a specific developer-type and need and is based on an analysis of developer populations and profiles.
Join Apigee’s Sam Ramji and Michael Rasalan from Evans Data Corporation, the leader in research and market intelligence in the developer and software development industry, to understand why the size and makeup of the developer community is critical to your adoption strategy. Discover the strategies for reaching different types of developers.
We will discuss:
- Why is segmentation important to your strategy?
- How many developers are there? What are their profiles?
- What are the latest trends in developer populations, profiles, and technology usage trends?
- How can you apply this knowledge to reach developers?
APIs used to be a technical implementation detail reserved for developers and architects. In the Web age, APIs make more business sense than ever before. This presentation gives a ring side view of How to Craft Business Strategy around APIs.
APIs are everywhere today and can be a great building block of modern applications. But all too often APIs are not truly great. Rather than love your API, developers curse it. How can you avoid that fate? In this session we'll look at the most common mistakes API providers make and you can avoid making them too. Do you offer a bad developer experience (DX)? Poor, inconsistent API design? Unreliable services? This talk is a deep dive on not just what to avoid but what to do instead. And you'll leave knowing how to get developers to love your API, not hate it.
SemTech Conference talk on the key trends in open APIs as well as data on semantic APIs in 2011. API market growth, changes from SOAP to REST and XML to JSON, and new API business models. Semantic portion looks at adoption of RDF/RDFa in open APIs.

How to (almost certainly) fail: Building vs. buying your API infrastructureApigee | Google Cloud
Do you buy or build your own API layer? For some reason, this question never seems to go away, but the answer remains the same. Building a solution might appear to be a less expensive route, but most IT teams ignore the cost and resources it takes to maintain homegrown software.
Learn when to build and when to buy in this presentation.
APIs provide both an extraordinary opportunity for both building engaging customer experiences and for strengthening your relationship with key business partners, but they also provide potential openings for savvy hackers to get unauthorized access to customer data and perhaps even to compromise your key business systems.
This presentation covers:

Before developing a mobile application you must research how much does it cost to build an app? However, the cost of creating an app can be pretty high. If you talk about a general estimate of the total cost of creating an app from scratch, it depends on the function and features of the mobile application.
In these slides, we have enlisted what it takes to build a successful mobile app at an affordable cost, what features are included, and the overall cost estimation for the same.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Clients don’t know what they don’t know. What web solutions are right for them? How does WordPress come into the picture? How do you make sure you understand scope and timeline? What do you do if sometime changes?
All these questions and more will be explored as we talk about matching clients’ needs with what your agency offers without pulling teeth or pulling your hair out. Practical tips, and strategies for successful relationship building that leads to closing the deal.
Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
