How to Manage APIs in your Enterprise for Maximum Reusability and GovernanceHARMAN Services
Trying to form an API/service strategy to keep pace with the IoT revolution? Know how you can address issues and challenges your enterprise might face while implementing it and know how you can address the same.
This webinar will also explains how WSO2 API Manager and WSO2 Governance Registry have helped enterprises overcome the following challenges:
1. How the number of services and their users affect service discoverability, catalog, and re-usability.
2. Mistrust among producers and consumers
3. Reliability, stability, and availability of services
4. How externally built common and reusable services meet requirements (anti-patterns - NIH)
Today, companies have multiple applications parallelly running to support their business operations. Such applications generate petabytes data that is stored in dispersed locations. Consequently, accessing and controlling such applications turns into a challenge, especially when companies are hosting a monolithic IT architecture. This is where API-led architecture makes it easier for companies to consolidate, access, manage and secure data from a unified location through APIs. API-led architectures have proven to enable organizations to deliver cross-application functions.
The slideshow gives an introduction and overview of APIs and its growth, importance in the cloud and mobile era of computing. It also briefs about various business models and the API management services / platforms available.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

4.Cloud-native application architecture
6. Multi-cloud & hybrid
● APIs are everywhere—on-prem, cloud providers, SaaS
● APIs need a common management model
● API management needs to be decentralized to work with
the complete API landscape
7. Open source
● Basic API management is a well-understood problem
● OSS micro-gateways are becoming common
● OSS API management needs a strong ecosystem and
community
8. Developer-led
● Developers now understand APIs must be managed
● Developer experience and lightweight architectures
● Developers are the customers for API management (as
much as—if not more so—than IT)
9. Cloud-native platforms
● Developers are using PaaS and container platforms
including Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes
● Cloud-native platforms mediate service & API usage
● API management must evolve to meet the needs of
developers using these platforms
