This document provides instructions for making a miniature tornado using two plastic bottles, water, dishwashing detergent, tape, and a small toy figure. The bottles are taped together, one is filled with water and detergent, and when it is spun in circles the top bottle mimics the spinning motion of an actual tornado. The science section explains that tornadoes form when hot and cold air masses collide and rotate, and can cause significant damage unless protected from in a basement or shelter.
