Before we start, I just want to make a quick disclaimer that what we share with you today will not be an overnight success, in fact, it’s something that we’ve tested and refined over twenty years of being in the subscription business. We did not have much experience or even a strategy when we first started. In fact we tried many things – some brought us good results while others were colossal failures. So what we would like to share are the ideas we tried and actually worked for us. We hope it would help you too. Marketing isn’t hard, the trick is to balance increasing the revenue versus retaining more customers every year.
  21. Keep it simple. Don’t have too many options when you are starting out. Maybe start with a simple plan on a fixed recurring price plan – think when Netflix started at $10/month
  22. As you add new products, focus on driving upgrades with additional customer value and experiment with billing frequencies (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, annual, multi-year). Then as you gather more insight on customer segments and needs – add tiers with different feature sets and price points. As you get bigger and start to really fill out, start being more aggressive and start testing if raising your rates will earn more revenue for you even with a drop off in customers and finally if world domination is your thing and you go international – you will need to contend with multiple currencies. Otherwise it will lead to an unhappy customer who can potentially be quite harmful in helping grow your business.
  32. You want to be able to have multiple options at hand but you want to deliver a consistent and customer friendly process that makes it easy for your customer to get back on track as soon as possible with minimal fuss.
  33. Using Ezypay will mean that you are using the most effective provider in the market. For example, in Australia, we collect 99% of payments. So for every 100 transactions performed, the odds are that you will receive 99 of them and miss only 1 payment.

At Ezypay, we provide business with 3 options to handle failed payments, however there is one option that is by far the most popular and involves our automatic re-bill The process goes like this: - The customer fails a payment Ezypay sends out an email notification with a toll free number to call or a pay-me-today link. The middleman also informs programmers about everything they can request, exactly how to ask for it and how to receive it.
