PMP Exam Changes
 The PMP Exam is changing on January 11, 2016
 Change is based on the PMI Role Delineation Study
 Exam is changing based on eight new tasks added
to the PMP Exam Content Outline
 The PMBOK® Guide—5th Edition has NOT changed

 A Role Delineation Study (RDS) is a research study that examines
the specific tasks of a project management professional, as well as
identifies the knowledge/skills required to perform those tasks
competently. As a result of the study, examination content and
qualification criteria may be updated to reflect the current status of
the profession.
 An initial RDS is conducted in order to establish the content
coverage of a new examination. Typically, organizations conduct
update studies every three to five years, although groups may
conduct these studies more or less frequently, depending on the
rate of change in a profession.
 Updated studies ensure that the examination continues to assess
what is most relevant to practice as the profession evolves.
PMI Role Delineation Study

 The ECO is the outline of what is on the PMP Exam
 Broken down into five domains:
 Initiating
 Planning
 Executing
 Monitoring and Controlling
 Closing
 Also addresses tasks, knowledge, and skill
statements
 Eight new tasks were added
