Gonorrhea Essay
Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a curable, bacterial, sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacterium called Neisseria gonorrhoeae (a member of the family Neisseriaceae). Bacteria are introduced during sexual contact. These bacteria can infect the genital tract, the mouth, and the rectum. It attacks the urethra in males, the cervix in females, and the throat. The majority of the organisms belonging to this family are non pathogenic or commensals, however, gonorrhea is always pathogenic. Gonorrhea s mode of transmission is during sexual intercourse vaginal, oral, and anal.
People who practice anal intercourse can get gonorrhea of the rectum. Even women who do not engage in anal...show more content...Doctors usually prescribe a combination of antibiotics, such as ceftriaxone and doxycycline or azithromycin, which will treat both diseases. Serious complications can result, however, when left untreated. In untreated gonorrhea infections, the bacteria can spread up into the reproductive tract, or more rarely, can spread through the blood stream and infect the joints, heart valves, or the brain. The most common result of untreated gonorrhea is PID, a serious infection of the female reproductive organs. Gonococcal PID often appears immediately after the menstrual period. PID causes scar tissue to form in the fallopian tubes. If the tube is only partially scarred, the fertilized egg cannot pass into the uterus. If this happens, the embryo may implant in the tube causing a tubal pregnancy. This serious complication results in a miscarriage and can cause death of the mother.
Rarely, untreated gonorrhea can spread through the blood to the joints.

Vaginal yeast infections, also calledcandida vaginal infections or candidiasis, are common and easily treated in most women. Candida is a fungus. It commonly exists in small amounts in the vagina, mouth and gastrointestinal tract. When the fungus overgrows in the vagina, a yeast infection develops. This causes uncomfortable symptoms such as vaginal itching, burning and discharge.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most common infections in the world, and advanced practitioners must be able to diagnose and treat the varying types of UTIs. Understanding the location of the UTI, upper or lower, the pathophysiology, and specific signs and symptoms are crucial for treatment. An advanced practitioner must also be aware of the roles that gender and age play in the development of a UTI. UTIs are common in the outpatient setting but can also happen in the hospital and can also be caused by a Foley catheter, which is considered a hospital-acquired event that the hospital will not receive reimbursement.
Pathophysiology of Lower Urinary Tract Infection
A lower urinary tract infection involves the path of least resistance or the most opportunistic point of entry for an organism, usually bacterial and involves the urethra and the bladder. An infection in the urethra or bladder (cystitis) are considered a lower urinary tract infection. The microbial spectrum of UTIs consists mainly of Escherichia coli, with occasional other species of Enterobacteriaceae such as Proteus mirabilis and Klebsiella pneumoniae and other bacteria such as Staphylococcus saprophyticus (Yamamichi, Shigemura, Kitagawa, and Fujisawa, 2018).
Pathophysiology of Upper Urinary Tract Infection
The upper urinary tract consists of the kidneys and ureters. Infection in the upper urinary tract generally affects the kidneys (pyelonephritis), which can cause fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and other severe symptoms. It can be caused by an infection that has made its way up the urinary tract and can become a complicated infection from an obstruction, such as benign prostatic hypertrophy, and calculi.
Similarities and Differences
Although the location of the infection is different many of the signs and symptoms can present the same; fever, dysuria, frequency, or urgency may be present in both. Many lower tract UTIs may be asymptomatic, and in upper tract UTIs, the symptoms may be more severe, including nausea and vomiting, flank pain, or costovertebral angle tenderness. Finding the underlying cause and treatment is the same; antibiotics for bacterial infections and analgesics for pain control. Intravenous antibiotics are preferred for upper tract UTIs in an attempt to preserve organ damage, but mat be converted to oral after initial treatment.
Gender and Age as Factors
While common in both males and females, females are more prone to community-acquired UTIs than men, basically because of anatomical differences. Lema (2015) ackno.

ABDOMINAL TRAUMA in pediatrics part one.drhasanrajab
Abdominal trauma in pediatrics refers to injuries or damage to the abdominal organs in children. It can occur due to various causes such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related injuries, and physical abuse. Children are more vulnerable to abdominal trauma due to their unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, tenderness, distension, vomiting, and signs of shock. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging studies, and laboratory tests. Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.

2. Non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU) is a sexually
transmitted disease (STD) caused by Chlamydia
trachomatis and Ureaplasma urealyticum. There are
clinical manifestations of urethritis, but gonococcus
can not be found in the secretion, and there is no
growth of gonococcus in bacterial culture.
3. At present, it has surpassed gonorrhea and ranked
first in sexually transmitted diseases lists in America
and European countries.
The disease has certain infectivity, which not only
afflicts itself but also may affect the health of family
members.
4. 1. Sexual contact
2. Self infection
3. Mother to child transmission
4. Latrogenic transmission
5. Indirect contact
5. Experts pointed out that when people
had sexual contact with patients
suffering from NGU, warts growing in
the external genitalia is protruding and
brittle, and the surface is easy to be
scratched. The virus in warts and
epidermis tissue will fall off and
inoculate on the reproductive organ of
the sexual partner, resulting in the
infection of human papillomavirus,
thus leading to the infection of NGU.
6. Patients do not pay attention to their
own health in life, dirty hands or
pollutants will cause pathogens from
the reproductive tract spread to the
eyes or throat, bringing more pain to
themselves.
7. Pregnant women with NGU, especially those with
no obvious clinical symptoms and viral infections
in the cervix, will have viruses in the genital tract.
During childbirth, the fetus will pass through the birth
tract, getting viral infections, which will lead to NGU in
infants. In the process of childbirth, the baby's eyes,
throat, and vagina will also be infected and even get
pneumonia. If the condition is serious, it will endanger
the baby's life.
8. Latrogenic infection refers to the patient's
exposure to the residual HPV virus of NGU
patients when they are examined, operated,
injected, or transfused in the hospital. At this
time, they may also be infected with NGU,
which we call iatrogenic infection. In order to
avoid the occurrence of nosocomial
infection, we must choose the regular
medical institutions instead of small clinics
with lax disinfection and poor equipment.
9. NGU can be transmitted by daily
necessities such as underwear, bathtub,
and bath towel. If women wear nylon
underpants and don't pay attention to
cleaning the vulva, mold, or trichomonal
vaginitis is easy to occur.
10. When there is an increased vaginal discharge
caused by other infections, local immersion and
humidity will provide favorable conditions for
the inoculation and breeding of papillomavirus.
Scratching the clitoris with contaminated hands
or using contaminated towels can also cause
infection of NGU.
11. In the acute stage of
NGU, the urethra
orifice is usually red
and swollen, and
pain aggravated,
especially when
urinating, so some
patients limit the
amount of drinking
water in order to
reduce urination.
On the contrary,
patients should drink
more boiled water,
dilute urine, reduce the
pain caused by urine
stimulation, and more
urination can play a
role in washing,
cleaning the urethra,
and promoting the
excretion of toxins in
the body.
12. But for the current
situation of non-
standard medication,
many patients are not
satisfied with the effect
of antibiotic treatment.
Generally speaking, NGU
is mainly treated by
taking sensitive
antibiotics.
In addition, the incubation
period of non-gonorrhea
is relatively long, and
many patients are easy to
ignore the symptoms,
thus delaying the
treatment. Then there are
a variety of pathogens in
non-gonorrhea mixed
infection, which makes
the treatment more
difficult and so on.
13. If the results of patients are still positive
after antibiotic treatment, it is necessary
to consider whether it is a mixed infection
or whether the pathogen has developed
resistance to antibiotics. At this time, if
the treatment of NGU is more difficult, it
is necessary to use the traditional Chinese
herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-
inflammatory Pill without drug resistance.
14. It has a strong effect of clearing away heat and
detoxifying and can be used to treat the
infection of various mixed pathogens,
turn chlamydia and mycoplasma to negative,
which can play an important role in the
treatment of urinary tract infection.
15. If you have questions about your condition and
treatment, contact our experts. Most questions are
answered in 24 hours.
