3. Our character- Drew
Our media piece shows different types of social
groups, this is seen in the way the characters are
presented to the audience. Our main protagonist is a
rebellious teenage boy named Drew. He is first seen
walking down the alley in a hoodie and listening to
music, completely unaware of the world around him.
Teenagers are often perceived as ignorant and
stereotyped into thinking they are indestructible,
they often don’t care what authority or barrier is in
their way, and think that they can use their massive
ego or charm to get out of situations. This is
incorporated in our character Drew
6. Our character- drunk
The drunk, recently unemployed and divorced is first
seen when Drew was walking in an alley. He comes
stumbling out of nowhere and bumps into Drew. Rather
than saying sorry, he turns aggressive towards Drew,
leaving him unconscious and alone in the alley. We had
him wearing clothing that looked old and tatty to
represent his ‘drunk’ character which gave people a
better understanding of what we’re trying to show.
In our final film version, the actor/character we have
used, we feel, is the most menacing and scary looking
actor from the others we have used. He makes Drew as
well as the audience uncomfortable and he carried a
sense of uneasy about him.
7. Representation
Our characters were stereotyped so that viewers
understand the characters personality. This was
shown by the way they were presented in their
clothing and the props that were used in the scene.
From researching opening scenes of a film, we
understood the way the director works. They think
about everything and every detail of the film.,
including the mise en scene which is what we tried to
replicate ourselves.
