How Does Emerson Use Of Ways To View The Beauty Of Nature
In the essay Nature, by Ralph Waldo Emerson, he explains how nature and beauty are one in the
same. He claims beauty is in the power of the eye – in the eye of the beholder. He goes on to explain
more in points #1, #2, and #3. In point #1 Emerson declares "nature is a simple perception of natural
forms of delight." Emerson goes on to explain the different types of ways to view the beauty of
nature. He uses a simile that every working person can connect to. Emerson says, "The body and
mind which have been cramped by noxious work and company, nature is medicine." This claim is
made true by how many people often take simple walks after work of school every day, simply to
clear their head or "get some air". Emerson also uses imagery to make the

The City Of The Chicago City
The Cloud Gate that is also called The Bean, is the best attraction in the Chicago city. As so many
tourists come from different region of world to visit the Chicago city, they see that shiny bean as a
selfie place. The bean is in Millennium Park which is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with free
admission. The visitors traveling can get to the park using primary Chicago public transportations
either bus or subway. Using CTA, one can take red line subway train to Randolph and from there it
is a short walk. The bean is the centerpiece of AT&T plaza at millennium park, and it get extremely
busy in weekends. It is surrounded by huge tall building which are reflected on the bean by various
shapes. As people go around the city, they see different sculptures all around, but some people think
that the Cloud Gate is the Chicago's icon. The tourist does not miss to see that icon because it 's a
place for taking memorable pictures and looking at the skyline of the Chicago city on the bright
Bean.
The sculpture of Cloud Gate was designed by Anish Kapoor in 2006. He was born in India on
March 12, 1954. He moved to London for further studies about arts in 1970s. It was his first public
artwork that he created in United States. Among 30 artists who submitted their sketches to build a
sculpture in the park, the millennium park officials selected Anish Kapoor's model as their top
choice. The design of the sculpture was inspired by liquid mercury and the surface gives a mirror

How To Write An Alternate Ending To Frankenstein
One night, you are walking on the street, you see a bright light, and you follow this light. Suddenly,
you fall into a black and dark forest, which is full of trees and weird houses. Because you are still
lying down, the trees look like black shadows with many hands that are going to catch you. All the
houses look the same, but nobody is inside those houses. You quickly look around again. There's
only black and white birds and unknown creatures around you. You can hear the sounds of birds that
are flying around over your head and wolf's yelling sound. "Aho–wooo!", this makes you feel more
scared. You look up again, it seems you are stuck in the middle of the forest. You try to get up, and
try to see what's happening. You see the creatures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

he will rob all the food that other animals have, so every animal is scared of him. Animals line up in
a straight line in front of the monster, you try to get out off the line, but you are just in front of the
monster. The monster looks at you and roars to you, and you run as fast as you can. All animals run
after you like robots. Finally, you see a house near you. The house looks old, you walk inside. The
house is made of gold, but all furniture are full of spiders' webs. You want to find something to help
you escape the house, so you open each room. At the end of the house, you see a door, and there are
stairs with colorful lights inside the door. Choice 1 You choose to close the door, and keep looking.
Suddenly, you hear a scary sound from the window, you hide under the tables. Boo!, you hear a
noisy sound come from your left side. Suddenly, all the glasses of Windows breaks into pieces, all
the animals crazily jump into the house. You have no way to run, they are almost near by you, you
close your eyes and hide yourself. (Then, it start to rain) the house transforms into a plane,
everything looks different outside, you stand up and try to figure out what happens. You looked up

Narrative Essay On A Winter Night
On a cold Winter night two people lay to sleep. So far away but that would never stop the dreaming
and magic.
December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Anna:
It's nighttime in Concord. I began to grow tired as the time progresses to 10:30 pm. I go up the stairs
leading to my room not knowing what is to come in this night slumber. I can only imagine what I
might dream. As I lay on my soft bedding cuddling up to my warm fuzzy blanket I began to doze
off. Just before I finally fall asleep I hear the train blow its whistle down the road from my house.
Dream Land: Where everyone's dreams come together. You tend to see people wandering around
aimlessly. In my dream I'm jumping around from cloud to cloud tasting the water from them as I
jump. Flying in between. I continue for a few more minutes. I get tired from jumping so I decided to
fall from the clouds. I jumped from the clouds so that I could watch the twinkling stars. As I jump
and fall I'm then greeted with a hard landing. I look to see what I landed on and it just so happened
to be a boy. I jump up surprised that I didn't squish him from how far I fell. "I'm sorry I didn't mean
to land on you," I said.
"It's alright, it didn't hurt too much it just took me by surprise," the mysteries boy said.
December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Christopher: It's nighttime in the cold Concord. I don't
think that it has ever been this cold here before. I start to get tired at about 10:00 pm. My eyes

Genocide: A Fictional Narrative
The door slammed with a loud BANG. The stench of waste death and despair pulled over me. Why
am I here? What did I do? Am I going to die? Scared out of my mind I yell "I want out" but it's like
no one heard my cries for help. the door to my cell swung open. A young man walked in, he was tall
with black hair and a long thick beard. he walks up and says "come with me he is ready for you." I

of dead bodies and waste. the door slams behind us. The whole time we walked not one word came

they just leave the room, but inside that room, i could hear the men yelling at each other. Then it
goes dead silent. The first man walks in "Come with me now!" He says,I stand up and follow him
out of the room. When we get out I see the other man lying on the floor weak and lifeless. They put
me in the room right in front of the man and made me watch every time he was hit when he tried to
get up. I felt so bad for this guy, all he did was try to help someone that does not sound that bad.
Does it? After 3–4 hours of this torture for this good man they finally stop, 4–5 gards pick him up
and throw him in my room. Then the guard that was beating him walks up and says,"If you like
them so much them you can be one of them.". Then night fell i slept in the back he was still lying
helpless on the floor. I wake up to the sound of the door slamming again. I jump up the guard is not

Little Cloud: A Short Story
The Pegasi colt, Little Cloud, looked to the darkening sky. It was getting late. It might, or might not
be a good idea to walk into town at night. It would be strange enough that a never before seen colt
would walk in from the Everfree Forest. Ponies certainly did not allow their children to walk alone
in such locations. Not at night, at least. But during the day was a grey area to him. He didn't know
how ponies reacted to the Forest in general. He was willing to take the chance that ponies didn't care
during the day. But with what he'd just seen, he didn't want to take that chance at night.
My best bet is to walk in during the day, he realized, rather than to sneak into town at night.
Especially since he wanted to be able to return ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thinking of nothing else he could do, his options were either to simply to stay awake, conscious
until the sun rose, or he could 'sleep' until the same time, limiting his consciousness only to hearing.
It was quite a simple choice, really: Waste away at what time he had to feed, or to conserve that time
as long as possible by staying dormant when movement was unneeded.
As if exaggerating to let him know what the right choice was, his stomach twinged in pain, followed
by a feeling of.... want. He knew that the pain and feeling would grow worse as time went on.
So his decision was made. He found his way into a bush, away from the eyes of anything that may
have seen him otherwise. He lay down after making room for himself, and rested his head, closing
his eyes.... And while his hearing was still in perfect order, he would not wake for the next few

Walk Two Moons Quotes
The character I selected from Walk Two Moons was Salamanca Tree Hiddle (Sal for short). Sal is
important in the novel because she had a troublesome past by her mom died and had to move to
Euclid, Ohio when she did not want to, but started all over again. By starting over she got her the
farm back. Another way she got a new beginning is that she got the swimming hole, and the letters
her mother gave her. In the text it says, "We're back in Bybanks now." (Creech 260). This quote
relates to Sal's shape a cloud because when a cloud is gone it can comes back again better. This
quote also related to Sal's color white because white means new beginning. This relates to the quote
by telling how both of the shape and color means new beginning.

Public Art : Chicago Is A Hub For A Booming Culture Of Art
Public art encapsulates a large part of Chicago's history, and engages many different people in
varying ways. Recently, I was in the city observing art and came across a woman who was seeing
the same pieces I was. She proceeded to tell me she had just gotten off a plane, that morning, from
New York, keep in mind it was around noon when I saw her, and wanted to show her daughter the
great pieces of public art in Chicago. She passionately relayed the rich historical context of a few
works of art: her main point being that Chicago is a hub for a booming culture of art. She noted that
great artists from Europe, such as Picasso, Chagall, and Dubuffet, wanted to be a part of the modern
art trends happening in Chicago in the twentieth century. She went as far to say that "these [pieces of
artwork] are unique in the world," meaning they are so well known and respected that their
popularity extends beyond the city of Chicago. It is curious to think about what makes a successful
work of public art, and why artists and observers alike are so intrigued with the art in Chicago. In
my opinion, two works of Chicago's public art, Monument with Standing Beast and Cloud Gate,
serve as effective works of public art due to their complexity and appropriate placement in space,
however Cloud Gate is more effective because of its personal appeal to the audience.
In order for a work of public art to be considered effective, it must have an element of complexity,

Advertisement Of A Mcdonald 's Advertisement
We see advertisements and commercials all the time in our daily lives. Sometimes, though, more
often than not, we over look things that might be presented to us, without even realizing it. A
McDonald's advertisement is something everyone is familiar with. Whether we are ignoring the
subtleties that are hidden in the advertisements message, or we are paying attention to the tricks that
are being used to draw us in, McDonalds knows how to make an effective ad.
At the beginning of the McDonald's ad we see the front yard of a little girl's house as her mother
does yard work in the background. As the little girl sits on the sidewalk steps, we find that she has a
grey cloud hovering over her head. We hear a piano jingle from the beginning of the commercial as
it zooms in to show the glum look on her face when she looks up at the cloud. Trying to scoot out
from underneath the cloud she realizes it doesn't work because the cloud follows her. Even blowing
at it doesn't work. Instantly Ronald McDonald walks up and says, "hi there (McDonalds)." Her face
lights up just long enough to say hi back. He looks at the cloud and kneels down to her level. He
mentions her day is going bad and with a sad look she replies, "I'll say (McDonalds)." After he tells
her it could be worse, the cloud begins to rain on her. With sarcasm she then says, "Awesome
(McDonalds)." This is when the piano jingle changes from instrumental to spoken words. Ronald
then reaches up and grabs the cloud as the words in

A Walk In The Clouds Review
In an era when harsh actuality of everyday life propels one to the realm of insanity, to a
pharmaceutically induced sleep, or to a dreadful state of existence, it is a pleasure for a fairytale
world to engulf an individual. Although for only a brief time of ninety minutes, that ninety minutes
is as refreshing as a relaxing soak in a warm tub of water. "A Walk in the Clouds" provides the
means of escape by way of a delightful romantic fantasy. At a time when movies seem compelled to
be asocial, when it is more effortless to smirk than to sigh, this film refreshingly takes us to a dream
world, if only for a time.Director Alfonso Arau brings sentiment to a story set in post–World War II

He does not approve of a Gringo, and believe me, he makes it known throughout the film. That is,

family played by Anthony Quinn. This is, without a doubt, one of the most magnificent roles I have
ever seen Quinn grace the screen.
Throughout "A Walk in the Clouds" he inserts his elderly wisdom and wit masterfully. One of the
most outstanding lines is when he tells Paul, who grew up in an orphanage, "You are an orphan no
longer." Reeves does an excellent job with non–verbal communication. The loving gazes between he
and Sanchez–Gijon continually reaches an apex just before the kiss. Even after the harvesting of the
family's grape crop, and the ceremonial stomping of the grapes (this is a beautifully done scene of
detail and soft light), and at last, a loving kiss, Paul stops before the point of no return. He tells her
he is "not free, and I won't hurt you."I am a die–hard sentimentalist, and I love the surprising and

The True Value Of Life
"Worldly fame, power, and money are all great values in life; but the greatest value of all, in life, is
love." Christian muse's to himself as he walks down the stairway of the San Francisco airport
terminal. He makes his way to the taxi ward for a ride to the Sunshine cruise liner. It will be en route
from San Francisco, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. It will pass through vast seas, emerald tropical

liken unto a rich man. In reality, he is a low class, paycheck to paycheck, average built, tall, just
maybe over six foot, dark–haired, ordinary, country guy. He would have likely never done this, had

Alas, Christian and Rose arrive at the cruise just before it launches. They climb on board and find
their palace cabin. Although hardly recognizable, just then, they heard the ship plunge into the
waves of the vast ocean. Overhead, an observant seagull flies. Then it is gone; into the light, misty
fog. Later, the seagull returns, with it, the sun, as it sets in the deep horizon of the west. The water

The Problem Of For Host Software Off Premise And Go The Cloud
Making the decision to host software off premise and go the cloud is not simple or is it a one size
fits all equation. While there are several advantages of cloud solution, there are dangers lurking just
below the surface. IT Managers must assess the risk and tread carefully when making such a
decision. Four years ago, I worked on a project to replace our call center phone system. The
hardware required a forklift upgrade because it would not support the next release of software. We
assembled a team comprised of call center and IT to explore, evaluate, and recommend a
replacement. We looked at our current vendor and other premise based solutions. At the time, it was
very controversial, but I suggested we include a cloud option ... Show more content on

Another advantage of the cloud is in physical infrastructure a tier–3 datacenter can provide. Some of
the components of a tier–3 datacenter include secure physical housing, data redundancy, internet
redundancy, power redundancy, a "Fort Knox" type of physical brick and mortar construction
(Ramasamy,2011). Cloud Computing provides an excellent opportunity to for off line backups. One
problem with moving data to the cloud is that companies have a tremendous amount of data on
premise beyond the terabyte, petabyte, and exabyte, but with data mining and big data, there is now
the brontobyte or 27 zeros of data to manage (Techtarget, n.d.). So how does one get massive
amounts of data to the cloud? If the data did not originate on the cloud, the bottleneck would be
bandwidth. Amazon Simple Storage Solution (S3) provides a solution for offline backup and storage
where companies can store databases and files off–line (Donnelly, 2016). Amazon's solution is to
provide a device or appliance to physically transfer the data onto it and then ship the device to
Amazon where they transfer the data to the cloud. I found it humorous Amazon adopted an old
school solution to bandwidth limitations what we used to call "sneaker net". There was a time it was
faster to walk the data over to the next building then to try to transfer it electronically. The Amazon
appliance is called a Snowball and it provides a solution for companies to move as much as 100 TB

Formalist Criticism In The Giant By N. C. Wyeth
Formalist Criticism In this printed reproduction of The Giant by N. C. Wyeth the artist shows six
small children on the beach watching a large cloud like giant walk across the horizon. The visual
culture of the painting would categorize it as fine art. Fine art in Western cultures consist of oil
painting, sculpture and architecture but now includes all kinds of media such as film, photography,
prints, and most recently performance (Lazzari, 11–12). The original painting was a 5–foot by 6–
foot oil painting. The giant is very large in scale compared to the children and takes up more than
three quarters of the height of the picture (Lazzari, 44). This makes the focal point of the painting
vertical, but it does contain some horizontal points in the children lined up and the streak of cloud
going across the middle. He is almost transparent and appears to be the same consistency of the
clouds. He is carrying a large club over his shoulder and his other hand is fisted. He is wearing a
tunic that has one shoulder strap and a belt with large silver medallions on it. He has long brownish
hair that is blowing backwards as he is walking forward. He is drawn on a diagonal which also gives
him the feeling of forward movement. He also appears in the background of the picture, while the
children appear in the foreground. The children are facing the ocean and the giant so we do not see
their faces, only the back of their heads. The children are painted in darker colors than the

Cultural Divide In The Man To Send Rain Clouds

Cloud Gate
I recently visited Chicago, IL for the first time and was impressed by the sculpture found as the
centerpiece AT&T Plaza that is located in Millenium Park. The non–objective, three–dimensional
sculpture is called Cloud Gate but is known by many as simply "The Bean" because of its shape
resembling that of, you guessed it, a bean. Anish Kapoor designed the sculpture in 2004. It's made
out of stainless steel and numerous plates composed of the same material. These plates have been
welded together yet the exterior of the sculpture doesn't show any visible seams from the welding.
Cloud Gate was unique to me as its surface allows you to see your reflection, which is then distorted
and warped as you walk past the different sections. The reflection of Chicago's skyline is also visible
but the elliptical shape of the sculpture distorts and twists it throughout. This unique piece of
artwork allows the viewer to be a part of the artwork along with the rest of the spectators whose
reflections are just as distorted across its surface. The omphalos, or concave chamber on the
underside of the sculpture, adds even more distortion to the reflections. Both elliptic and hyperbolic
geometry was used to achieve an illusionary quality to the sculpture. The sculpture was inspired by

consistency and shiny, silver appearance of a liquid metal. Its shape gives the viewer a sense that it's
floating above its foundation and the fact that it's barely touching the ground made me think it was
light. In reality, it weighed over 100 tons!

The Kipps Black Monologue
At the start of the play we open on a dark stage with just a pool of diffused white light center stage.
As Kipps walks through the dark house and approaches the stage, it become enveloped in the warm
tungsten light of a cheap theater. As the show progresses and Kipps begins reading the monologue
we transition back to the pool of light. Similar transitions will happen throughout the scene as we
travel between the world The Actor knows and the world of stories that Kipps is introducing until
we fade to black at the end of the scene. When lights come back up it is again the warm tungsten
lights that wash and expose the stage. As The Actor transitions to a different character the lights
match that transition by fading into a tighter look resembling a dimly light office. The boundaries of
the room reflected by a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Kipps enters the train we lose the sunlight and are forced into dimness as the train car is
illuminated by small warm wall lights. Kipps steps into the car and we are confined to the train car
by similar boundaries that were in the office. The car has a similar dimness the rest of the train had,
but now sunlight floods through a window. As Kipps changes cars we travel back into the main
hallway of the train and to a car on the opposite side of the train. This car is identical to the last but
the sunlight from the window is less intense here and is coming from the other side. When Kipps
switches cars for the last time we are met with a similar scene, but it is cooler as the weather is
gloomy and cold. When we see The Actor in the hotel lounge we are met with dim, warm, light as if
from candle, the room is slightly brighter around Kipps as he sits by the fire and writes his letter. As
Kipps finishes his letter we fade back to the tungsten wash and back to reality for the rest of the

Pride In The Scarlet Ibis
Pride is part of human nature. What people fail to realize, is that pride comes with a price. A price
greater than he imagines is paid by Doodle's brother in the "Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst. When the
narrator is six, Doodle is born. Defying all odds, Doodle survives when given a slim chance to live.
However, surviving means constant care and not being able to walk. His condition is delicate, and
any kind of physical overexertion could kill him. Doodle eventually becomes the responsibility of
the narrator. Abhorring having to drag him around constantly, the narrator decides he will teach his
brother to walk. He pushes Doodle everyday, until one day he learns to walk. This accomplishment
gives the narrator a sense of pride. This pride makes him feel invincible, and causes him to push

Letting pride take command can cause more harm than good, and have unexpected consequences. It
starts by giving him a feeling of satisfaction that he had done what most had deemed impossible. He
says, "They did not know that I did it for myself... that Doodle walked only because I was ashamed
of having a crippled brother" (215), showing he does not care about what it means for his brother,
only that he is the reason Doodle walks. Doodle is content being able to walk finally, but his brother
wants more. He believes in his own, "infallibility" (215), and does not care about his brother's health
condition. He pushes Doodle to exert himself in the way doctors said could kill him. As school
approaches, he realizes their deadline will not be met. By not accomplishing the goals he has set for
Doodle, they have both become failures. His pride and anger cause him to leave his brother behind.
Doodle then exerts himself trying to catch up. This last effort causes his fragile body to finally break
and he dies. Realizing what his pride led to, the narrator cries for his "fallen scarlet ibis"

The Importance Of Romanticism In Literature
Romanticism was away for poets to express their feelings emotions and their personal views of
nature. Romanticism started in the mid–eighteenth century and achieved its stature in the nineteenth
century. The Romantic writing of the nineteenth century holds in its themes the goals of the day and
age, focusing on feeling, nature, and the articulation of "nothing." The Romantic time was one that
centered around the shared trait of mankind and, while utilizing feeling and nature; the writers and
their works shed light on individuals' all inclusive natures. According to Merriam Webster dictionary
the definition of Romanticism is "a literary, artistic, and philosophical movement originating in the
18th century, characterized chiefly by a reaction against neoclassicism and an emphasis on the
imagination and emotions, and marked especially in English literature by sensibility and the use of
autobiographical material, an exaltation of the primitive and the common man, an appreciation of
external nature, an interest in the remote, a predilection for melancholy, and the use in poetry of
older verse forms"(Webster) some of the greatest poets where Wordsworth, Keats, and Lord Byron.
Such as I wandered lonely as a cloud, Ulysses, and She walks in beauty, are all examples of of
Romanticism. Through history poets have found different ways to use the topic of Romanticism in
their poems. Wordsworth was a prime example of such a poet he mainly focused on writing poems
about his love for nature. The overall meaning for one of Wordsworth's most renowned plays I
wandered lonely as a cloud tells a story about wordsworth wandering the countryside in amazement
at all of nature around him.according to a study done by Joseph A. Rogers about staying "Until the
poet is in communion with Nature he is "lonely as a cloud," but when his spirit connects with the
lovely sight of the daffodils, he "could not but be gay" with the "wealth the show to me had
brought." Wordsworth's mention of the "inward eye" that is the "bliss of solitude" reminds the reader
of Emerson who said that he had become "a transparent eyeball" because he felt that". (James E.
Cronin) According to the definition given to us by Webster Dictionary this poem fits the exact

Theory Critique: Cloud and Townsend
Summary
Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend (1999) have created a comprehensive work titled Boundaries in
Marriage. In this book they have outlined what boundaries are and what can be done to create
healthy boundaries within a marriage. First, let's look at the definition of boundaries. Cloud &
Townsend (1999) define this as "a property line" (p. 17). In other words in a marriage it is a set of
rules that a person sets for themselves so that they can control their emotions; this is also known as
ownership. A person must find that ownership within themselves to avoid trying to control or put
blame on the other person; this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This list is just basically an example of what kinds of conflict a marriage can face; however, there
are also strategies that the Bible discuses repeatedly and are ones to be followed to help a person
create a healthy bond between a couple. The six strategies are: observation of the conflict;
confrontation of the problem being open and honest; having ownership, grief, and apology of the
conflict; repentance of the sin that has been committed; being active in the process for necessary
change; and reexamination of the conflict, marriage, and boundaries (Cloud & Townsend, 1999).
Evaluation of the Strengths and Weaknesses
In reading the work by Cloud & Townsend (1999) I found no real weaknesses but only strengths on
how to improve a person's marriage. Boundaries in Marriage are not only for the couples that are
experiencing current problems; but for the newlyweds, more seasoned couples, and for the ones who
are not yet married. Regardless of the persons situation being able to learn what boundaries are and
why they are needed is an important part of a healthy marriage. Cloud & Townsend (1999) describes
the values that a person must have in order to have a healthier marriage, this is a strength because
they require a person to form a relationship that is closer to God first. If we put God first in our lives

Summary Of Clouds By Mia Hall
Clouds are often associated with the proposal of free thinking; which is what sleeping is presumably
thought to be. During Mia Hall's out–of–body–experience, she contemplates over the idea of staying
alive to live her life as an orphan, or leaving to succumb to the fate her family had no choice of
enduring. As Mia deciphers over the choice of life or death, she declares that; "sleep would be so
welcome –– a warm blanket to erase everything else" (Forman, 278). A cloud is a symbol of sleep,
and contains the element that Mia's loved ones fear throughout the hours of her coma. Mia has a
choice to join her body once again, or to turn into the light and have a rendezvous with the clouds
which she desperately wants to meet. The cloud replaces Mia's

Mallard's Irony
come to the realization of her husband's death, she looks out to the window and notices the beautiful
scenery of the spring time. Chopin describes it as, "Could see in the open square before her house
the tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life" (223). Her heart comes into play as
well, because it is revived with a new sense of life and hope. This describes Mrs. Mallard's new life
that is set for her, or at least she thought. Chopin also writes, "Patches of blue sky showing here and
there through the clouds that had met and piled one above the other in the west facing her window"
(223). The light was coming through the clouds even when the clouds were supposed to be blocking
it out. Mrs. Mallard wanted her life to end throughout the whole marriage, but she find hope within
the sun. Lastly, when Chopin says, "there stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy
armchair. Into this she sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and
seemed to reach into her soul" (223). The armchair in her bedroom symbolizes rest and tiredness of
her life before the death of Mr. Mallard. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, when Mrs. Mallard's sister, Josephine, is worried that she is going to make herself ill, but the
crazy part is that she is happy that her secretly unhappy marriage was over, this shows situational
and dramatic irony. The second example of situational irony would be when Mr. Mallard dies and
Mrs. Mallard cries of joy. In most cases when a significant other passes you would be heart broken,
but not her. She starts to smile just thinking about the new life that she was going to have. Lastly,
another example of situation irony is when Mr. Mallard walks through the door and Mrs. Mallard
dies. The readers all thought that the story was just going to be about a husband dying and the wife
coping with the situation, but Mr. Mallard lives

Narrative: A Day At Sioux Center Christian School
"Finally... this day has taken forever", thought Trajan as the bell rang throughout Sioux Center
Christian School, signaling the end of the school day. As Trajan walked out of his 6th grade
classroom, and into the hall, he was surrounded by fellow classmates. He looked towards the end of
the hall for his brother, Damon, who should have just come out of his 4th grade classroom. He then
spotted Damon just outside the school doors waiting for him.
As Trajan stepped outside to wait with Damon for their 1st grade sister, Makenna, he was struck by
the heat and humidity of the air and started sweating spontaneously. A minute later, Makenna
pranced happily out of the school and dashed over to her brothers. "Are you ready to walk home?"
asked Trajan. It was not uncommon for them to walk home even though they could ride the bus.
Damon and Makenna both nodded, and they all started walking down the sidewalk towards home.
Trajan, Damon, and Makenna stayed together as they walked, which was uncommon because they
usually had friends to walk with, but today, for some reason, not all of their friends decided to walk
home as usual. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How To Write An Autobiography Of Savannah
Early in the morning on the African savannah the sun begins to emerge from the horizon. The
morning sun continues to rise turning the sky a beautiful blood orange color. All types of animals are
called to attention by an African tribal chant; "Nants ingonyama bagithi baba!"
Groups of animals emerge from the thick fog walking across the grassy savannah. A flock of
flamingos fly across the still crystal water. Herds of antelope hop like frogs through the morning
mist. Meanwhile, a mother giraffe and her calf walk out from the shadows into the warm sunlight.
They stand on a grassy hill and notice below them groups of animals walking in the same direction.
They prance down the hill eager to join them. As they do this, a colonel of red ants walk gracefully

Zazu, a small blue bird with a large orange beak flies to the ledge. He bows with gratitude to

an elderly baboon with white hair, slowly climbs up the ledge. He hugs Mufasa warmly. They walk

How Does Emerson Use Of Ways To View The Beauty Of Nature

  • 1. How Does Emerson Use Of Ways To View The Beauty Of Nature In the essay Nature, by Ralph Waldo Emerson, he explains how nature and beauty are one in the same. He claims beauty is in the power of the eye – in the eye of the beholder. He goes on to explain more in points #1, #2, and #3. In point #1 Emerson declares "nature is a simple perception of natural forms of delight." Emerson goes on to explain the different types of ways to view the beauty of nature. He uses a simile that every working person can connect to. Emerson says, "The body and mind which have been cramped by noxious work and company, nature is medicine." This claim is made true by how many people often take simple walks after work of school every day, simply to clear their head or "get some air". Emerson also uses imagery to make the ... Suddenly, you fall into a black and dark forest, which is full of trees and weird houses. Because you are still lying down, the trees look like black shadows with many hands that are going to catch you. All the houses look the same, but nobody is inside those houses. You quickly look around again. There's only black and white birds and unknown creatures around you. You can hear the sounds of birds that are flying around over your head and wolf's yelling sound. • 7. Narrative Essay On A Winter Night On a cold Winter night two people lay to sleep. So far away but that would never stop the dreaming and magic. December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Anna: It's nighttime in Concord. I began to grow tired as the time progresses to 10:30 pm. I go up the stairs leading to my room not knowing what is to come in this night slumber. I can only imagine what I might dream. As I lay on my soft bedding cuddling up to my warm fuzzy blanket I began to doze off. Just before I finally fall asleep I hear the train blow its whistle down the road from my house. Dream Land: Where everyone's dreams come together. You tend to see people wandering around aimlessly. In my dream I'm jumping around from cloud to cloud tasting the water from them as I jump. Flying in between. I continue for a few more minutes. I get tired from jumping so I decided to fall from the clouds. I jumped from the clouds so that I could watch the twinkling stars. As I jump and fall I'm then greeted with a hard landing. I look to see what I landed on and it just so happened to be a boy. I jump up surprised that I didn't squish him from how far I fell. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to land on you," I said. "It's alright, it didn't hurt too much it just took me by surprise," the mysteries boy said. December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Christopher: It's nighttime in the cold Concord. I don't think that it has ever been this cold here before. I start to get tired at about 10:00 pm. • 11. Little Cloud: A Short Story The Pegasi colt, Little Cloud, looked to the darkening sky. It was getting late. It might, or might not be a good idea to walk into town at night. It would be strange enough that a never before seen colt would walk in from the Everfree Forest. Ponies certainly did not allow their children to walk alone in such locations. Not at night, at least. But during the day was a grey area to him. He didn't know how ponies reacted to the Forest in general. He was willing to take the chance that ponies didn't care during the day. But with what he'd just seen, he didn't want to take that chance at night. My best bet is to walk in during the day, he realized, rather than to sneak into town at night. As if exaggerating to let him know what the right choice was, his stomach twinged in pain, followed by a feeling of.... want. He knew that the pain and feeling would grow worse as time went on. So his decision was made. He found his way into a bush, away from the eyes of anything that may have seen him otherwise. Sal is important in the novel because she had a troublesome past by her mom died and had to move to Euclid, Ohio when she did not want to, but started all over again. By starting over she got her the farm back. Another way she got a new beginning is that she got the swimming hole, and the letters her mother gave her. In the text it says, "We're back in Bybanks now." (Creech 260). This quote relates to Sal's shape a cloud because when a cloud is gone it can comes back again better. • 15. Public Art : Chicago Is A Hub For A Booming Culture Of Art Public art encapsulates a large part of Chicago's history, and engages many different people in varying ways. Recently, I was in the city observing art and came across a woman who was seeing the same pieces I was. She proceeded to tell me she had just gotten off a plane, that morning, from New York, keep in mind it was around noon when I saw her, and wanted to show her daughter the great pieces of public art in Chicago. She passionately relayed the rich historical context of a few works of art: her main point being that Chicago is a hub for a booming culture of art. She noted that great artists from Europe, such as Picasso, Chagall, and Dubuffet, wanted to be a part of the modern art trends happening in Chicago in the twentieth century. She went as far to say that "these [pieces of artwork] are unique in the world," meaning they are so well known and respected that their popularity extends beyond the city of Chicago. It is curious to think about what makes a successful work of public art, and why artists and observers alike are so intrigued with the art in Chicago. In my opinion, two works of Chicago's public art, Monument with Standing Beast and Cloud Gate, serve as effective works of public art due to their complexity and appropriate placement in space, however Cloud Gate is more effective because of its personal appeal to the audience. In order for a work of public art to be considered effective, it must have an element of complexity, provoking the thought of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes, though, more often than not, we over look things that might be presented to us, without even realizing it. A McDonald's advertisement is something everyone is familiar with. Whether we are ignoring the subtleties that are hidden in the advertisements message, or we are paying attention to the tricks that are being used to draw us in, McDonalds knows how to make an effective ad. At the beginning of the McDonald's ad we see the front yard of a little girl's house as her mother does yard work in the background. As the little girl sits on the sidewalk steps, we find that she has a grey cloud hovering over her head. We hear a piano jingle from the beginning of the commercial as it zooms in to show the glum look on her face when she looks up at the cloud. Trying to scoot out from underneath the cloud she realizes it doesn't work because the cloud follows her. Even blowing at it doesn't work. Instantly Ronald McDonald walks up and says, "hi there (McDonalds)." Her face lights up just long enough to say hi back. He looks at the cloud and kneels down to her level. He mentions her day is going bad and with a sad look she replies, "I'll say (McDonalds)." After he tells her it could be worse, the cloud begins to rain on her. With sarcasm she then says, "Awesome (McDonalds)." This is when the piano jingle changes from instrumental to spoken words. Ronald then reaches up and grabs the cloud as the words in ... • 23. A Walk In The Clouds Review In an era when harsh actuality of everyday life propels one to the realm of insanity, to a pharmaceutically induced sleep, or to a dreadful state of existence, it is a pleasure for a fairytale world to engulf an individual. Although for only a brief time of ninety minutes, that ninety minutes is as refreshing as a relaxing soak in a warm tub of water. "A Walk in the Clouds" provides the means of escape by way of a delightful romantic fantasy. At a time when movies seem compelled to be asocial, when it is more effortless to smirk than to sigh, this film refreshingly takes us to a dream world, if only for a time.Director Alfonso Arau brings sentiment to a story set in post–World War II California. No sooner do they utter the final planning words than does the sound of shotgun fire sound. Her father, Alberto Aragon (Giancarlo Giannini) meets and greets the new son–in–law with gun in hand. He does not approve of a Gringo, and believe me, he makes it known throughout the film. That is, until the end. Every other member of Victoria's family accepts Paul especially the patriarch of the family played by Anthony Quinn. This is, without a doubt, one of the most magnificent roles I have ever seen Quinn grace the screen. Throughout "A Walk in the Clouds" he inserts his elderly wisdom and wit masterfully. One of the most outstanding lines is when he tells Paul, who grew up in an orphanage, "You are an orphan no longer." Reeves does an excellent job with non–verbal communication. The loving gazes between he and Sanchez–Gijon continually reaches an apex just before the kiss. Even after the harvesting of the family's grape crop, and the ceremonial stomping of the grapes (this is a beautifully done scene of detail and soft light), and at last, a loving kiss, Paul stops before the point of no return. Cloud walked over, grabbing the man's face in his gloved hands and kissing him with all the passion he had. "Are you okay, my love?" Cloud asked, bringing Squall in close to him. "I am now," he whispered back, laying a kiss on Cloud's chest. "What will we do? I can't go back, and when they get up here, there's no stopping them at all." "I can't ask for protection from us. While it's not forbidden for a demon to love a human, it's looked down upon. I only know of one hope for us, but it's not pleasant." "Anything, Cloud. Anything for you. Christian muse's to himself as he walks down the stairway of the San Francisco airport terminal. He makes his way to the taxi ward for a ride to the Sunshine cruise liner. • 35. The Problem Of For Host Software Off Premise And Go The Cloud Making the decision to host software off premise and go the cloud is not simple or is it a one size fits all equation. While there are several advantages of cloud solution, there are dangers lurking just below the surface. IT Managers must assess the risk and tread carefully when making such a decision. Four years ago, I worked on a project to replace our call center phone system. The hardware required a forklift upgrade because it would not support the next release of software. We assembled a team comprised of call center and IT to explore, evaluate, and recommend a replacement. We looked at our current vendor and other premise based solutions. Another advantage of the cloud is in physical infrastructure a tier–3 datacenter can provide. Some of the components of a tier–3 datacenter include secure physical housing, data redundancy, internet redundancy, power redundancy, a "Fort Knox" type of physical brick and mortar construction (Ramasamy,2011). Cloud Computing provides an excellent opportunity to for off line backups. One problem with moving data to the cloud is that companies have a tremendous amount of data on premise beyond the terabyte, petabyte, and exabyte, but with data mining and big data, there is now the brontobyte or 27 zeros of data to manage (Techtarget, n.d.). So how does one get massive amounts of data to the cloud? If the data did not originate on the cloud, the bottleneck would be bandwidth. Amazon Simple Storage Solution (S3) provides a solution for offline backup and storage where companies can store databases and files off–line (Donnelly, 2016). Amazon's solution is to provide a device or appliance to physically transfer the data onto it and then ship the device to Amazon where they transfer the data to the cloud. I found it humorous Amazon adopted an old school solution to bandwidth limitations what we used to call "sneaker net". There was a time it was faster to walk the data over to the next building then to try to transfer it electronically. Wyeth the artist shows six small children on the beach watching a large cloud like giant walk across the horizon. The visual culture of the painting would categorize it as fine art. Fine art in Western cultures consist of oil painting, sculpture and architecture but now includes all kinds of media such as film, photography, prints, and most recently performance (Lazzari, 11–12). The original painting was a 5–foot by 6– foot oil painting. The giant is very large in scale compared to the children and takes up more than three quarters of the height of the picture (Lazzari, 44). This makes the focal point of the painting vertical, but it does contain some horizontal points in the children lined up and the streak of cloud going across the middle. He is almost transparent and appears to be the same consistency of the clouds. He is carrying a large club over his shoulder and his other hand is fisted. He is wearing a tunic that has one shoulder strap and a belt with large silver medallions on it. He has long brownish hair that is blowing backwards as he is walking forward. He is drawn on a diagonal which also gives him the feeling of forward movement. He also appears in the background of the picture, while the children appear in the foreground. • 43. Cloud Gate I recently visited Chicago, IL for the first time and was impressed by the sculpture found as the centerpiece AT&T Plaza that is located in Millenium Park. The non–objective, three–dimensional sculpture is called Cloud Gate but is known by many as simply "The Bean" because of its shape resembling that of, you guessed it, a bean. Anish Kapoor designed the sculpture in 2004. It's made out of stainless steel and numerous plates composed of the same material. These plates have been welded together yet the exterior of the sculpture doesn't show any visible seams from the welding. Cloud Gate was unique to me as its surface allows you to see your reflection, which is then distorted and warped as you walk past the different sections. The reflection of Chicago's skyline is also visible but the elliptical shape of the sculpture distorts and twists it throughout. This unique piece of artwork allows the viewer to be a part of the artwork along with the rest of the spectators whose reflections are just as distorted across its surface. The omphalos, or concave chamber on the underside of the sculpture, adds even more distortion to the reflections. Both elliptic and hyperbolic geometry was used to achieve an illusionary quality to the sculpture. The sculpture was inspired by liquid mercury, which I believe was very appropriate as its shape and exterior mirrored the consistency and shiny, silver appearance of a liquid metal. Its shape gives the viewer a sense that it's floating above its foundation and the fact that it's barely touching the ground made me think it was light. In reality, it weighed over 100 tons! ... • 51. The Importance Of Romanticism In Literature Romanticism was away for poets to express their feelings emotions and their personal views of nature. Romanticism started in the mid–eighteenth century and achieved its stature in the nineteenth century. The Romantic writing of the nineteenth century holds in its themes the goals of the day and age, focusing on feeling, nature, and the articulation of "nothing." The Romantic time was one that centered around the shared trait of mankind and, while utilizing feeling and nature; the writers and their works shed light on individuals' all inclusive natures. According to Merriam Webster dictionary the definition of Romanticism is "a literary, artistic, and philosophical movement originating in the 18th century, characterized chiefly by a reaction against neoclassicism and an emphasis on the imagination and emotions, and marked especially in English literature by sensibility and the use of autobiographical material, an exaltation of the primitive and the common man, an appreciation of external nature, an interest in the remote, a predilection for melancholy, and the use in poetry of older verse forms"(Webster) some of the greatest poets where Wordsworth, Keats, and Lord Byron. Such as I wandered lonely as a cloud, Ulysses, and She walks in beauty, are all examples of of Romanticism. Through history poets have found different ways to use the topic of Romanticism in their poems. Wordsworth was a prime example of such a poet he mainly focused on writing poems about his love for nature. The overall meaning for one of Wordsworth's most renowned plays I wandered lonely as a cloud tells a story about wordsworth wandering the countryside in amazement at all of nature around him.according to a study done by Joseph A. Rogers about staying "Until the poet is in communion with Nature he is "lonely as a cloud," but when his spirit connects with the lovely sight of the daffodils, he "could not but be gay" with the "wealth the show to me had brought." Wordsworth's mention of the "inward eye" that is the "bliss of solitude" reminds the reader of Emerson who said that he had become "a transparent eyeball" because he felt that". (James E. Liberty University Theory Critique: Cloud and Townsend Summary Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend (1999) have created a comprehensive work titled Boundaries in Marriage. In this book they have outlined what boundaries are and what can be done to create healthy boundaries within a marriage. First, let's look at the definition of boundaries. Cloud & Townsend (1999) define this as "a property line" (p. 17). In other words in a marriage it is a set of rules that a person sets for themselves so that they can control their emotions; this is also known as ownership. A person must find that ownership within themselves to avoid trying to control or put blame on the other person; this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This list is just basically an example of what kinds of conflict a marriage can face; however, there are also strategies that the Bible discuses repeatedly and are ones to be followed to help a person create a healthy bond between a couple. The six strategies are: observation of the conflict; confrontation of the problem being open and honest; having ownership, grief, and apology of the conflict; repentance of the sin that has been committed; being active in the process for necessary change; and reexamination of the conflict, marriage, and boundaries (Cloud & Townsend, 1999). Evaluation of the Strengths and Weaknesses In reading the work by Cloud & Townsend (1999) I found no real weaknesses but only strengths on how to improve a person's marriage. Boundaries in Marriage are not only for the couples that are experiencing current problems; but for the newlyweds, more seasoned couples, and for the ones who are not yet married. Regardless of the persons situation being able to learn what boundaries are and why they are needed is an important part of a healthy marriage. The Optimization Of Cloud Computing Essay kaur.parminder.490@gmail.com Abstract With the increasing number of users of cloud, the load/ traffic also increases and it becomes important to have some techniques to balance the load equally among all the nodes, so that the user doesn't suffer and the services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Therefore the need for Load Balancing algorithms arises. There are a number of techniques available for load balancing. In this paper, different kinds of load balancing algorithms in cloud computing along with the challenges and the qualitative metrics for the various load balancing algorithms are presented. Keywords: Load balancing, dynamic and static algorithms, Virtual Servers. 1. Introduction The definition of Cloud Computing as issued by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) September, 2011 is: "Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on–demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models." Cloud computing is a type of Internet–based computing that provides shared computer processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand.
