2. Edublogs
• Edublogs is a free blogging site that I have used this year to keep track and put
together all of my practical work. Having my work on the internet means that I
can access it easily and at any time.
• I found my blog easy to use to put on my research and planning. I was allowed
to embed links, pictures and youtube video clips, so it makes my work more
visually exciting. I was allowed to write down any ideas and keep track of past
ideas and refer to them. People are able to track the progress of my trailer
through my blog. However, the only downside to this is that when I uploaded an
image that they referred to as too large it would stretch the image, making my
blog look less appealing.

3. Google
• Google is a popular search engine where you can find anything that you
could possibly want. For my work I used google to search for poster and
magazine inspiration and the different information that I needed for my
research and planning stages, for example target audience research,
conventions of a noir film and different camera angle information.

4. Youtube
• Youtube is the most popular video sharing website, where you can watch,
upload and share videos for free. Youtube has helped many people get the
recognition they deserve, including film makers.
• For my research and planning I used youtube to find many different film noir
trailers and look to them for help on mise en scene, editing, sound and camera
work. I also used this site to analyse existing trailers, as youtube allows you to
annotate them by adding captions and notes on different parts of the trailer. I
then uploaded them and embedded them onto my blog. This allowed me to be
more creative and different as annotating the actual trailer was more visually
exciting to just writing it down. I also uploaded the progression of my trailer to
youtube to allow different people to watch it.

5. Youtube to mp3
converter
• I used this popular website to convert videos into mp3,
allowing me to just use the music. I did this to find the
music for my final trailer. I also used this website to get the
trailer for ‘The Third Man’ and allowed myself to upload it so
I could then annotate it.

6. Polldaddy
• I used this website to make polls for my target audience to
answer regarding my trailer and research and planning
stages. I found this a useful idea as it was good for
audience feedback regarding my trailer as I had more of an
idea of what people wanted and I knew that I could adjust
my trailer to make it appeal to them.

7. FreeSFX
freeSFX is a website where you are able to download a range
of different sound effects. On this website I was able to
download the sound effects for a gun shot, a slap and match
strike. These would make the sounds on my trailer more
effective.
