The Reach Covers   110 revenue districts  in 6   states and 2 UT  Gift of Vision has  benefitted millions  through high quality eye care at the door steps of rural India. Gift of Vision is the  most successful & cost-effective  of all health interventions.
A History of Success 7981   camp s   conducted as of now 5,03,322  Vision Restoring   surgeries  performed  98.8%  success   rate 1,49,5572   outpatients   screened
Preventive Eye Care
The Need for Preventive Eye Care Early detection and  timely intervention  can very effectively preventive visual impairment. Refractive errors & Amblyopia (lazy eye disease) affects nearly 7 - 12% children in the community.  Diagnosis is simple  & the results of the treatment are dramatic
The Need for Preventive Eye Care Sankara's preventive eye care program include : a) Rainbow b) Maitri c) Swagatham Wherever required, special tests & medical/surgical treatment is provided free of cost
The Programs RAINBOW Preventive eye care for school children 6-15 years age group Over  3  million children screened in four districts. Replicated in  Guntur, Bangalore, Anand, Shimoga, Chennai and in  Nigeria MAITHRI Preventive eye care for children at the ICDS Centres (Anganwadi) 3-6 years age group SWAGATHAM To screen new born infants at maternity centres  0 -3 years age group
