involving the supernatural, with many containing a religious theme.
5. Monster/ Sifi horror
■ Examples of these films include;
– Dawn of the dead
– Frankenstein
– Animal
– Ailen
■ These films are scary based around a creature terrorizing the protagonists and often
killing them of.
■ The monster normally replaces the role of a traditional antagonist, with the
protagonists having to save the world or themselves.
6. Comedy horror
■ Examples of these films include;
– Shaun of the Dead
– Scary Movie
– Gremlins
■ These films use humour to defuse the tension in horror films and lures the audience
into a ‘false sense of security’ making the scares more scary.
