2. Action Horror
– Action horror movies are a subgenre which combines the conventions
of a horror movie such as low-key lighting, monsters and disgust
invoking concepts with conventions of the action genre such as fast
paced car chases and the use of weaponry.

3. Body Horror
– Body horror refers to the explicit depiction of the human body in unnatural
situations such as mutilation, decay or moving into unnatural positions.

4. Gothic Horror
– The gothic horror sub genre consists of both conventions of horror and gothic.

5. Psychological Horror
– Relies on the mental state of a character within the film. Plays on elements such
as fear, mental illness in order to build tension.

6. Slasher Horror
– A slasher film normally involves a lot of violence and normally includes a serial
killer abducting multiple victims, the have a preferable choice of weapon. The
slasher genre also may incorporate crime and mystery as the authorities
normally get involved.
