The arrest of Jesus on the Mount of Olives presents some rather troubling questions about who Jesus is. Jesus' response are not at all what we might expect nor is the response of the Roman soldiers characteristic of an overwhelming military force. Peter's response, however, does seem a normal response, but he's rebuked for taking such a stand. What questions do you have about Easter?
From a talk given at Blazing Fire Church www.blazingfire.org on 3/3/2019. Pastor Susan Fochler traces Peter's transformation from head-strong to humble, showing how he became secure in his sonship and ready to lead a new move of God. Why Christianity according to Jesus.pptxRoel Agustin
This presentation provides evidence for the truth of Christianity and presenting the differences between the said belief and what Islam really teaches concerning Jesus, God's nature, and also salvation - if it is by God's grace through faith alone or by faith plus works.
What prevents the non-believing world from truly knowing who Jesus is? (Jn. 1:10-12; 2 Cor. 2:14) Why didn’t Pilate know what Truth was when the One who is Truth was standing only a few feet from him? (John 18:33-38) Why didn’t the disciples understand who Christ was though they had spent three solid years with Him? Why didn’t the disciples on the Emmaus Road know who Jesus was though He had already risen from the dead and reports of His resurrection had been announced to His disciples? (Luke 24:13-35)

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Home Run, Strike Out... Batter Up!
1.
2. “Jesus asked his disciples, ‘Who
do people say that the Son of Man
is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John
the Baptist, but others Elijah,
and still others Jeremiah
or one of the prophets.’
3. “He said to them, ‘But who do
you say that I am?’ Simon Peter
answered, ‘You are the Messiah,
the Son of the living
God.’”
4. “Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed
are you, Simon son of Jonah! For
flesh and blood has not revealed
this to you, but my Father
in heaven. And I tell
you, you are Peter,
and on this rock I
will build my church.”
5. “Jesus began to show his disciples that
he must go to Jerusalem and undergo
great suffering at the hands of the elders
and chief priests and scribes, and be
killed, and on the third day be
raised. And Peter took him
aside and began to rebuke
him, saying, ‘God forbid it,
Lord! This must never
happen to you.”
6. “But Jesus turned and said to
Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan!
You are a stumbling-block to
me; for you are setting your
mind not on divine
things but on human
things.”
7. “If any want to become my
followers, let them deny
themselves and take up their
cross and follow
me.”
8. “For those who want to save their
life will lose it, and those who
lose their life for my sake will find
it. For what will it profit
them if they gain the
whole world but forfeit
their life?”
9. “For those who want to save their
yuxh will lose it, and those who
lose their yuxh for my sake will
find it. For what will it
profit them if they
gain the whole world
but forfeit their yuxh?
