2. Week 1:
How We Become
Believers
① Why do people
seek God?
② How do they
find God?
3. ① When they realize
that self-
sufficiency is a lie.
“Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king
of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master
and highly regarded, because through him the Lord
had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but
he had leprosy.”
2 Kings 5:1
4. ② When they realize
that the world
cannot help them.
“So Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver,
six thousand shekels of gold and ten sets of clothing.
The letter that he took to the king of Israel read: “With
this letter I am sending my servant Naaman to you so
that you may cure him of his leprosy.”
2 Kings 5:5-6
5. ② When they realize
that the world
cannot help them.
“As soon as the king of Israel read the letter, he tore
his robes and said, “Am I God? Can I kill and bring
back to life?”
2 Kings 5:7
6. ① When they figure out what their real
problem is.
“When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic,
„Son, your sins are forgiven.‟ Now some of the scribes
were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, „Why
does this fellow speak in this way?”
Mark 2:5-7
7. ① When they figure out what their real
problem is.
“His flesh was restored like the flesh of a
young boy, and he was clean.‟”
2 Kings 5:14
8. ② When they realize that salvation isn’t
something you achieve, but receive.
“But Naaman became angry and went away, saying, „I
thought that for me he would surely come out, and
stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and
would wave his hand over the spot, and cure the
leprosy! ”
2 Kings 5:11
9. ② When they realize that salvation isn’t
something you achieve, but receive.
“But his servants approached and said to him,
„Father, if the prophet had commanded you to do
something difficult, would you not have done it?
How much more, when all he said to you was,
“Wash, and be clean”?‟”
2 Kings 5:13
