Holy Confidence Scriptures 2-16-20
Eph 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us
with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we
would be holy and blameless before Him.
In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to
Himself, according to the kind intention of His will
Eph.2:6
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him (Father) in
the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
Romans 8:15-16: For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to
fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which
we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit
that we are children of God,
Romans 8:17: and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs
with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be
glorified with Him.
Romans 8:18: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are
not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:30: these whom He predestined, He also called; and these
whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also
glorified.
2 Tim. 2:12: If we endure, we will also reign with Him
CS Lewis: (Weight of Glory) If you could see your self in heaven as you
will be one day, you would be tempted to worship yourself. John did twice
to the angel in Revelations.
Holy Confidence Scriptures 2-16-20
Matt. 9:38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into His harvest.”
Sermon Application Time
OK—time to declare what God says about us.
Let’s commit ourselves again to live a life that is worthy of our calling.
Pray after me:
Thank you Father for loving and choosing me before You made the world.
Thank you for wanting me to come to You as a child who can call you
Abba, Daddy.
Thank you for forgiving me all my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life
through my faith in Jesus.
Thank you for making me a joint-heir of the riches of heaven with You and
Jesus!
Thank you that I will one day reign in heaven with Jesus.
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for living in me to give me the character, power
and purposes of Jesus. Give me more!
Father, in Jesus Name, I break agreement now with any beliefs about
myself I have been believing that contradict what You say about me. I call
them lies and I refuse them access to my self-image anymore.
Father, in Jesus name, I also renounce and cast away from myself any evil
spirits who are trying to deceive me into believing anything about myself
Holy Confidence Scriptures 2-16-20
that is contrary to who You say I am. I put the blood and cross of Jesus
between me and those lying spirits.
Father, in Jesus Name, fill me again with Your Holy Spirit. Refresh me and
empower me to live like Jesus!
Now, let’s ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us. In John 16, The Bible says
that God sent His Spirit into us to lead us into all truth, to remind us of the
words of Jesus and even to tell us the future. That means the Holy Spirit is
the main way God communicates with us. Let’s allow Him to do that now
in two ways.
First, pair off with someone near you— if you feel comfortable doing that. If
not, listen to the Spirit by yourself. Either way is fine.
Lord, what do you want me to know about my brother or sister right now?
If you are praying by yourself, ask God to give you a word for someone else
that is here today.
Wait 30 seconds and share what you have heard from the Holy Spirit. Many
of you will receive a word of knowledge from the Spirit. If you do not, then
just say a short prayer for the other person to know more clearly how God
sees them.
Lastly, Ask God the Holy Spirit what He wants you to know about
yourself. Listen for 30 seconds and then look up.
Homework: Take one Bible verse about who you are in God’s sight and say
it out loud once a day for the next week. Write it on a piece of paper and
carry with you or write it on your bathroom mirror with a marker.
Email me or Pastor Chris about how that one-week assignment affects you!
May the Holy Spirit speak to all of us this week and help all of us live a life
worthy of our calling with holy confidence!
