That is known as the fourth quarter: neither
inward-turned nor outward-turned
consciousness, nor the two together; not an
indifferentiated mass of consciousness; neither
knowing, nor unknowing; invisible, ineffable,
intangible, devoid of characteristics,
inconceivable, indefinable, its sole essence being
the consciousness of its own Self; the coming to
rest of all relative existence; utterly quiet;
peaceful; blissful: without a second: this is the
Ātman, the Self; this is to be realised.

• Bhrigu, the son of Varuna, approached his father
Varuna, saying, "Sir, please teach me Brahman". To

• Varuna said thus: "Food (annam), Life (pranan), Sight
(sakshu), Hearing (srodhram), Mind (manas), Speech
(vaak)". To him, he said: "whence indeed these
beings are born; whereby, when born, they live;
wherein when departing they enter; That seek you
to know; That is Brahman." He resorted to devotion.

description. So Bhrgu pushed on his energy to arrive at

energy, and lastly as possessed of the energy of knowledge);
for from the vital force, indeed, spring all these beings; having
come into being, they live through the vital force; they move
towards and enter into the vital force. Having known thus, he

ન્દ્પ્રય વગેરે વૃન્દ્િ સહીતનુાં છે, તેને આનાંદર્મય કોશ કહે છે.
• The Anandamaya kosha is the innermost of the
five koshas or "sheaths" that veil the Atman or
Supreme Self.
40. The Sheath of Bliss
Anandamaya Kosha
• Karan Sharir means the unconscious state of
mind – lack of all awareness.
• કારણ શરીર એટલે સુષુપ્ત – અજ્ઞાનાવસ્થા.
• In this state, the connection between sukshma
ands sthula body is delinked. So all the illusions of
intellect are transferred to disillusion.
• The ultimate bliss is experiences in this state. So it
is known as Anandmaya Kosha. The Anand- Bliss
comes from Antaha Karana without any
obstacles.

explore the world and so he became a shepherd.
